The time from start to repaired and on the road was impressive. They communicated the details thoroughly through the repair process as well. The have 5 bays and a collision shop in the back lot of the building. They have a comfy waiting area as well. I'll be coming back here from now on for all my auto and truck repairs.

I was already working with Scott at Michigan Sandblasting and planned to have my Jeep's underbody sandblasted there. Rashid told me they could apply POR-15 afterward, so based on that I paid to have the Jeep towed down there. After it arrived, everything changed. Rashid started questioning the project and for over a week I was given the runaround. Multiple times Rashid told me he would "talk to Scott figure out a solution and call me back," but the call back never happened. Every time I followed up I got the same vague response and nothing actually moved forward. Rashid knew all of the details prior to me towing it down there. If this wasn't a job they wanted to take on, that should have been communicated from the beginning instead of telling me to bring the vehicle down and spend money towing it there. It's extremely frustrating to be told something can be done, only to have the shop avoid giving a straight answer after the vehicle is already there. Very disappointing and unprofessional way to handle a customer. I wasted time and money because they couldn't simply be upfront about whether they were willing to do the work.

Apparently management changed, the tech who signed off on the safety was no longer there. They denied everything they had told me the first day. They told me this guy that sold me the vehicle brings in at least two vehicles a month for safety. When I called the second time they mistakened me for different vehicle for the same issue, a supposed passed safety. Clearly something is going on in this shop. I wouldn't trust buying another vehicle that was safetied by this shop.

I let them know the fronts had already been done, they told me they still fail. Yes the backs needed it. My car has expensive front rotors and pads....as it has 6 piston brembo brakes. after having the reception talk to the mechanic multiple times during our talk they insisted it failed. Went in for an in person inspection and then the Owner/mechanic said the receptionist was wrong...poor girl it was clearly not her doing this. Took my car out of there and went to another shop for the safety....and surprise it passed no problem. Saved myself more than $5000.00. My rating is obviously zero. Rich is the man, and seems to have been bending pipe and installing systems just about forever. When used car dealers buy vehicles at auction, this is where they bring them to upgrade those leaky, rusty exhausts. If it's possible to just fix your exhaust, Rich will tell you so and weld in that new piece (flex pipe, for example) for you. Of course he'll also custom bend and install everything from converter back if that's what you need. When we had one car's exhaust go in Ypsi, a well-regarded, fairly priced (per reviews) shop there quoted $343, converter back. When towed back to Rich at Motor City, the price for the same work was $160. I don't even want to think about what a dealer or brand name shop would have charged! A bonus from my perspective is that he allows waiting customers to sit within viewing range of work in progress. Those welders put on quite the fireworks show! Scary neighborhood? Yep! Luxurious waiting area? Nope! (Think plastic chairs, spray painted gold, set at the far edge of the work area.) Convenient hours? Not that either. Nice folks though (staff and other customers, both) if you can just go with the flow and kind of get into their scene. The work isn't always perfect, but they're very agreeable to welding up any tiny missed spots for bring-backs. What you get is decent work at more than fair prices.
