Steak tip available with rice..... BUT ACTUALLY COMES WITH FRIES
    Sharra V.

I moved to Cumberland about 6 months ago. I order out frequently especially on the weekend. I received a menu in my mail box and order a pizza one night. Pizza was a solid 6-7 which for a foody and classically trained chef (not what I do) like myself is a pretty good rating for pizza in Cumberland and not made a 5 star establishment. My kids got the chicken finger dinner. They liked it! I have ordered rom here pretty consistently 1x week and 1-2 times on the weekend. That make me 2-3 time a week customer (which im sure they can see in their Computer system) for a non-chain privately owned restaurant/pizza place. I spend all week bending and breaking my back for my customers. I also own a small business, and understand completely the ins-outs and ups-downs so I am all to familiar with the pains of customer service, however tonight was a disgusting display of a man who does not valve the people that make his $ucce$$ful Tonight I called and ordered for my kids the chix finger dinner and the steak tip dinner. On the menu the steak tip dinner say "available with rice" under steak tip dinner. I got the order from the deliver girl, tipped the driver 10% opened the food and saw that both dinners came with fries. No biggie was not mad at all i know it is Friday night $ hit happens. I called them back and nicely told the gentleman who answered the phone that I had just received my order and it was wrong...he asked me what was wrong i stated they had sent fries instead of rice. The young man on the phone asked me if i ordered rice i said no it says on menu it comes with rice...he apologized and asked me if i just wanted the rice or if i would perfer the meal made again. I asked him if he could make the meal over if he didn't mind seeing how the steak would have been cold by the time the rice got here. I thought that was a great way to handle the situation and was pleasantly surprised they didn't just offer to send rice lol. ( which i told him i would have been fine with). He put me on hold and some short time later a man (with an accent) got on the phone and started right in with "the steak tip dinner comes with fries"! He didn't greet me or tell me he was a manger or owner he just barked at me that the meal doesn't come with rice.! His tone led my cold reaction "excuse me sir, the menu says rice!" He said "NO IT doesn't" ! It clearly says AVAILABLE WITH RICE? ?!!! I'm confused at this point, I'm not sure where any logical person could know that the steak tip dinner ( that is clearly written available with rice ) would know to expect they would receive French fries. Call me a crazy Karen like my kids, but no mention of fries... just rice... and he is insistent that I would have had to SPECIFY that I wanted rice. In what world does steak tips available with rice mean steak tips with French fies? I told him after going back and fourth a few more times ....trying to be logical here..... that I was new to the area and had order from him ALOT and that he just lost a customer for what $1.50 worth of rice. His response was "fine" and then I got hung up on.

So-Called "Fried Clam" More like artificial "rubber-bands" battered and fried.

Pizza here is good. They also offer Sandwiches, Salads, and Seafood. Herein is my complaint - the Seafood. WHY offer food if you're not willing to put in the necessary effort to make it at least decent?!!? We've been making our own pizzas at home so we don't order Yovanis anymore - after 2020 they got less reliable in their standards of quality. After a strange day, we decided to try their Fried Clam Strips ($13.95) and Fish and Chips ($14.95). We've had the Fish and Chips years ago (pre-2020)... it was OK (edible; but you couldn't keep any overnight.. the crunchiness of the fish coating was a highlight of the experience and it didn't endure as leftovers). THIS TIME??? Royal RIP-OFF. The simple F&C wasn't cooked properly. They LOAD ON the French Fries on all platters (which are adequate, but far too abundant). What they're trying to pass off as "clam strips" are some funky, weird, maybe non-food "things" that have ZERO flavor and are merely dipped in some batter and fried. It's practically vulgar. It isn't as though we expected 'gourmet' or anything like that - but did standards really have to go so seriously south in the last few years? Waste of Money.

Small place tucked away in a neighborhood a couple blocks from the prison. Friendly people, but meh pizza. A little overcooked, and it didn't seem "artistian" at all. Sauce, cheese, and crust, were all nothing special. Way overpriced for in the price/quantity ratio. Its an easy pass for me.

They are hit or miss lately. I got a sub tonight. I find a melted bread tie poking out from under my sub.

Come for the décor, stay because your food hasn't arrived yet…read moreAfter seeing WhatDidYouEatTodaySir hype up Marvin's Delicatessen, I figured it was worth the ride down from the Boston area. I love a good deli. Unfortunately, this wasn't just disappointing--it was borderline comical. Let's start with the good: the place looks fantastic. Clean, modern, really well done. If Yelp rated based on interior design alone, this place is pushing 5 stars. Now... the rest. First clue something was off--the dining room felt like a walk-in freezer. Not exaggerating: every single table had people eating in their coats. At some point you have to look around and think, "maybe we turn the heat up before someone orders a side of frostbite." Then came the wait. And the wait. And the wait. Close to an hour for deli sandwiches. During that time, I had a clear view of the kitchen, which turned into dinner and a show. Plates were coming back nonstop--wrong bread, wrong orders, total confusion. It was like watching a live-action blooper reel. Eventually, our food arrives... and of course, it's wrong. Back it goes. No big deal--mistakes happen. Round two: soup comes out with vegetables after my wife clearly explained she has an allergy. The waitress caught it (thankfully), and back it goes again. What finally came out can only be described as "chicken soup in spirit." It tasted like someone waved a bouillon cube over hot water and called it a day. No seasoning, no substance, and I'm pretty sure the "chicken" made a brief guest appearance and left. Her sandwich? Also wrong--and somehow included onions and mystery vegetables. So that was basically game over. I ordered the 50/50 (pastrami and corned beef). I say "ordered," but identifying what actually showed up was a bit of a guessing game. The meat was dry--painfully dry. The pastrami (I think?) had the texture of kindling wood and looked like it had been sliced by someone who just discovered what a knife is. Tough, stringy, and completely lacking that juicy, melt-in-your-mouth quality you expect from a deli. The waitress seemed nice enough but didn't really know the menu, and the kitchen was clearly in full chaos mode. One guy--who I assume was the owner or manager--was running around like a man trying to put out ten fires with a squirt gun. At some point, we just started laughing. Not because it was good--because it was so bad it crossed into "you can't make this up" territory. Maybe I'm spoiled coming from the North Shore, where delis take pride in their corned beef and pastrami. But if you're going to call yourself a delicatessen, you've got to at least get the basics right. This place has the look, but none of the execution. I wouldn't go back. I wouldn't recommend it. And next time I'll just stay north of the border where the sandwiches actually show up correctly--and edible.

I have been coming to International Meat Market for years, back when they were on Lonsdale Ave,…read morewhere they just built Central Falls High School. This newer location is a lot bigger, with a massive parking lot. They are primarily a meat market, so they obviously have a large variety of meat, organized by type (beef, chicken, pork, fish, etc) behind clear cases. The prices are good and they usually have specials on different meats every week. The price per pound also decreases by a little when buying in bulk (10 Ibs +). They have meat packages available too where it comes with a pre-selected variety of meat for a set price. They have an online platform to order packages which saves lots of time by not having to wait in line, and I believe they accept orders by phone too. When ordering in person, they have a number system to order, so you grab a ticket with a number, and they call out the numbers in order to attend to customers in a first come first served fashion. Sometimes, the wait can be 30 min +, not because they are short staffed (there is almost always 8-12 people taking orders), but just because of the amount of people who come in. The meat always looks fresh. The staff is always in a good mood, happy to take orders, very patient, speak Spanish and English (and maybe more languages), and accommodating to requests. For example, they wil cut the meat in any way you wish, you can choose which piece you want, and tell them exactly how much you want. Aside from the meat, they have lots of authentic products from Central/South America, and some Portuguese products as well. They have a produce section with fresh fruits and vegetables, but it is usually more expensive than some grocery stores. They have 3-4 cash registers, so the checkout lines usually don't take longer than 2-10 minutes. Recently, they were celebrating one year of being at this location so to show some appreciation to their customers, they hosted a BBQ with burgers, hot dogs, larcites, and samples of some of their products - very generous.
