Woah, woah, woah...hold up. I've lived a short drive from this place for over 15 years and I've never heard about this delicious, authentic Mexican food practically at my doorstep?!?! Driving home from a pool day I was super hangry and needed tacos. Pulled up Yelp, sorted Mexican food restaurants by distance and found La Primavera. They were super busy at 5:30pm on Saturday night. It took about 20 minutes to get my take out order (my dog was in the car so I had to take out although I get a feeling they would not have minded if I brought her inside). Two tacos, one steak, one chicken, and a chicken enchilada with rice and beans. Ate the tacos when I got home and they were just so perfect. I can't even describe how delicious they were (and no, it was not just because I was hangry). I just ate the enchilada meal today for lunch and wow, just wow. So authentic, so on point. I'm in love. For the ambiance - it's set up like a diner inside with booths and counter seating. Not very big but the outdoor patio offers a lot of additional seating. Great price point for the quality of the food. I found my new favorite and I don't see myself eating Mexican anywhere else. Singing "Nothing Compares to You" to my enchilada, with my mouth full, as I devour it. And my dog is mad at me because I greedily would not give her a bite. read more

Mexican food that is authentic and on point. Ceviche, yes please! Camarones (shrimp fajitas) La Primavera are addicting! Chicken (boneless) molé is by far the best for miles! Their version of Enchiladas La Azteca brings me back to New Mexico, as these are "stacked" and with two eggs over easy on top! Having Mexican food anywhere else is a lip biting compromise! My wife brought home a Small Super Burrito Lunch Special for me . The Carne Asada Burrito was 85% dry rice and 15% Carne Asada No Beans, No Sour Cream, No Cheese and No Guacamole! Returned from vacation, fridge is empty, nothing to have for lunch. Showed up to This place, with wonderful customer service, Banda music and a lot of customers for lunch hour. I ordered the big burrito with carnitas. While the flavors were wonderful and the salsa was spicy, the thing disintegrated. Now I see why it was served in a tin tray instead of wrapped in foil. Went there on Cinco de Mayo and ordered a gran shrimp burrito. What I got was basically a tortilla stuffed with rice and a few shrimp. No sour cream, no guacamole, and the tiny amount of beans they bothered to include was shoved into one end of the burrito like they forgot halfway through making it. Absolutely pathetic for the price. My daughter's chicken burrito was just as bad -- mostly rice, barely any beans, and despite specifically asking for extra sour cream, they still managed to put almost none in it. We had to send it back just to get a decent amount added. I've eaten here several times, but this visit was by far the worst. Maybe the lunch crew around noon just doesn't care, because the quality and portions were terrible. They are consistently stingy with sour cream and guacamole, and this time it felt like they were trying to cut every possible corner. Huge disappointment, especially on Cinco de Mayo when you'd expect them to actually put effort into the food. I should have taken a picture. I came here with my mom to try the soup and we had a great experience. The service was quick and friendly which made for a pleasant visit. I ordered the spicy Tlalpeno chicken soup while my mom went with the regular chicken. I loved my soup, the flavors were rich and satisfying, but my mom felt the chicken breast was a bit dry. I happened to be in Martinez & we got hungry for Mexican food & I'm so glad I came across this gem!! At first there was no one there but us, after like 10 min , it got packed! The customer service is overwhelming outstanding, we got greeted as soon as we open the door, the lady and coworkers were very friendly and caring with all the customers. The food was super good great pricing , amazing portions, it was authentic Food from Jalisco. They give you chips and salsa , and they will ask you if you want the spicy sauce and yes it is spicy but is so yummy the beans and the rice were perfect , and the chile rellenos so cheesy There's parking outside, they have indoor booths and outside seating. Nothing fancy, but clean and authentic. Interesting design especially with the painted sky ceiling. Overall a little bit outdated, however, serves the need. Service had some hiccups waiting for final bill and checking on the customers. Ordered taco salads represents the stars of this review - flat taste of all the ingredients. Finally made it inside here a couple of times it's fast & easy to call in and place an order - menu on their website - they give you an order #, tell you it'll be ready in 10-15 min., and you go there to pick it up and pay, etc. Inside is super cute and clean, like an old 70's long trucker diner feel, my favorite, plus lots of covered seating they added on outside. They also have a food truck, but I'm not sure where it parks. One Sunday (theyre open 7 days a week!) I bought an $11 scrambled eggs and pancake breakfast. Can you believe it also cane with butter/syrup, refried beans w/cheese, 3 flour tortillas!, AND free tortilla chips (not a tiny 5-chip bad, either) and 2 salsas. It was crazy, and I split into lunch & dinner because it was that much food. Plus the hostesses and waiters are super friendly. This place is great! Came here for dinner, but noticed they have some fantastic breakfast offerings. Its nothing too fancy, but we had a great meal. They provide free chips and salsa with every order. We got the guac, but it was nothing to write home about. We ordered a burrito that came with rice and beans. As for the meat, we went with carnitas, which was an excellent choice. We also ordered a side salad. It was American style and included a healthy amount of ranch. Out the door the whole bill with tip for two people was just $40. This place is a great deal at that price point. We will be back! read more

Alright, how am I the only person leaving a review saying that the hard shell beef tacos have potatoes and carrots in them, and that they taste like a dollar store version of Campbell's Chunky Beef Stew? I have had thousands of tacos and these were by far the worst I have ever had in my life. There was celery in the beef tacos... CELERY. My bar is set high when it comes to the quality of food. With that said, there is nothing unique about this place, and the decor is right on par with many other Mexican restaurants, but the quality of the food is fantastic and clean. I always get my food to-go so I can't comment on the dine-in experience. Since I always get my food to-go, they always pack it nicely, and when I order a lot, they put them in boxes for easy takeout. The staff are always friendly. One of my favorite options is their chicken soup. It looks plain and boring and I didn't expect much when I first saw it, but the flavor gives me comfy cozy vibes. Wait: there was no wait Service: very friendly. Food: I came here and had the caldo de res while my husband had the carne asada California burrito. The soup was great. The carne asada was to die for!! Slightly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside with little to no fat. The flavor was also amazing. Next time we will stick to a regular carne asada burrito.
