Finally, a barbershop I can rely on that puts together one fine haircut at a very affordable price. There is nothing fancy about this place which is a good thing since this gave me the impression that their main focus is providing distinguished haircuts. While I sat waiting for my turn I observed the customers getting their haircuts and my confidence in Yoyoz skyrocketed. I watched Eric do his thing and each haircut he finished looked very proper so I anxiously waited for my turn. I haven't been to a straight up barbershop in a while so I was anxious to see if they'll do my hair the way I expected. Sure enough, after I got up from the comfy chair and seeing the finished product of my skin fade, I felt like Outkast feelin so fresh and so clean. He asks me if its my first time here. The game changer was when I, mechanically, checked in on yelp. He saw that and realized I might leave a review. I checked in not so he could see but it was just something I do, im sure you understand. So now he goes on and on about how great they are and why people keep coming back. Starts to tell me how people come in here from different barber shops. So he throws a sales pitch at me and all I could say was "oh thats cool man". He charged me $15 for a taper. When he gave me his phone to swipe my card he tell me I can leave a tip. So this dude gets right behind me to check if im going to tip or not. I couldn't believe it lol. I am so glad to have found this place! The struggles of being a mom with mixed kids with curly hair is that my first son's hair has been JACKED up by other places OR I've waited hours at other places even with an appointment (I'm always short on time and if I make an appointment I depend on that)... so I've been super scared to bring my 5 year old anywhere. I did take him to a place when he was one and they gave him a carrot top. Since then we have just kind of cut it with scissors and he got his first real haircut today by Bryan here at Yoyoz. We are soooo happy and will no doubt return. Bryan is AMAZING with kids. My 5 year old and Bryan clicked and the experience was a positive one. Bryan talked to him, had a welcoming personality, and even showed him things before he used them. I'm sure all of you men will love the barber shop talk and good music as well. Bryan has been cutting my hair for about a year now. This is my favorite barber shop in San Diego. If you want some cost cutters shit don't come here. This is a real barbershop. I drive 30 min for my haircut after moving because I don't settle for average. They all put time and attention into every cut they do. So if you're in a hurry don't bother. They would rather make you wait 10 to 15 min longer and give the guy in front of you a proper cut than rush to get your ugly mug in the chair. The first time I came to this shop, everything went ok despite the fact that my appt was at 10am but I had to wait about 30 min before getting into the chair. However I made another appt with Bryan again and this time he NEVER showed up. I waited over an hour, called him multiple times and he did not answer or show up. I had to ask another barber (after they opened the shop way past the time they were supposed to open and had other people as well as my self waiting in their cars) to call Bryan in which Bryan picked up for him and stated that he was on his way.
