This has been my go to place for the last few years since moving to Escondido. I am weird about favoring one person over the other and always let the next barber up take me. Big mistake today. I just asked for #3 on the sides and finger length on the top. He spent 40 minutes on my sides and ears. I have a beard and he, without asking, shaved the sideburns and made a huge uneven gap between each side. My grandmother's funeral is tomorrow and I look like an idiot. My wife told me to go to a real barber while I was on my way. I depended on them. In the end, I accepted I was wrong. Last time going there! One last thing..... This place is my go to place but the last two times have been awful experiences. Although I can't blame the shop itself, just one particular guy. The guy with the white patch in the front of his hair, who wears the glasses. He is awful. He spent about 45 minutes on a standard fade haircut, and couldn't even get halfway done. Not to mention that it was one of the worst haircuts I've ever received. Hes a hidden gem, Boua and a handful of the barbers don't say much but they get you in an out! WHen they open back up I will be the first again. COVID has got them closed but they will bounce back because I am telling you this place especially for the price is the perfect place to get a fade! Not many places are open on Sunday which can be frustrating if your busy during the week. The lady was quick and efficient. They are in a rush to cut hair and I'm not sure why because it's never super busy in there. They are overpriced for their work. I definitely DO NOT recommend this business. Most of them have trouble speaking English, which could be a major problem trying to describe the haircut you want and knowing if they understand or not. ASK FOR STEVE! With all the barbers they have at this place, most of them are pretty good at getting your desired haircut BUT only TWO are truly great in my opinion. Been here long enough (low prices and close to my house) to receive a haircut from almost everyone but again only Steve and the lady in the first chair on the left side (unsure of her name) who's cuts are not only consistent but they take their time to make sure it's perfect! Don't get me wrong, the other barber's score are a strong 8.5-9 out of 10, but Steve and the other lady are a 10 out of 10 . My only complain is that both of them usually have a wait line of 1-3 people already waiting haha, but if you come in at a lucky hour when they are free or have time to kill I would go with them read more

I'm a tight wad when it comes to haircuts. I think that a haircut for a guy should not cost as much as it does at local places like Supercuts, Great Clips, Sports Clips, etc. For the amount of time I'm actually in the chair and the difficulty of my haircut, I expect it to be reasonably priced - with or without a coupon. A few weeks ago I drove by this place and it said that haircuts are $8.50, so I figured I'd give it a shot. My first haircut turned out great. I just went back today after a little over a month, and got another great haircut. They do a very good job, and they are very thorough. One thing that I like is that they have televisions you can watch while you get your haircut. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I had given them a 5 but a few days after my cut I noticed that they had cut the hairline on my neck about 1/2 inch higher than the natural hairline. This resulted in me having to clean up the hairline every couple days to avoid having an unsightly neckline. read more

Good value, the guy in the photo for the business does great work (Mr Bao from what the photo says), he's quick and experienced. I wish he would have edged my sons hairline a bit but for what I paid I was happy with his work. 2nd visit, the guy mentioned earlier appeared to be leaving, he had us go with the girl who has a chair on the left closest to the front as you enter (sorry didn't catch her name) he asked us about the cut we wanted and translated info to her. I was not happy, when she thought she was finished the fade was uneven, I had to tell her that the fade was off, she attempted to fix but it still was not right. I tried to explain but just had a blank stair, I didn't want to press the issue, paid and left. If your feeling adventurous you can give her a try. If you want a good cut I recommend waiting for the guy in the photo (Mr Bao), otherwise I suggest you move on. I have found a new barber since but if I do return I will wait for Mr Bao. read more

If you go here, make sure you have a picture of what you want (not sure if it'll help though). I usually keep my hair extremely short (usually a #3 on the clippers), but the last 6 months or so, i haven't gotten a haircut because i wanted to try growing it out and have a longer hairstyle. So I sit in the chair and tell her "I'm trying to grown my hair out so I don't want a lot cut off. My main concern is all the straggly/wirey hair on the sides. So I just want that trimmed and cleaned up." She says "okay" and proceeds to grab the clippers and run them up THE ENTIRE SIDE OF MY HEAD and I watched as a clump of about 3 inches of hair fell into my lap. I saw another review that gave one star that seemed to be a bit racist saying no one spoke English and everyone was getting a Mexican haircut (?) whatever that is. I didn't have the best experience at this place. I went in twice, the first time the fade was okay, not amazing though so I went back a week later to get cleaned up. Both times I got the same person, the lady to the back left when you walk in. When I went back to get cleaned up the lady who had cut my hair before saw me and called me so that I. An get a cut by her again, this was bad. She assertively called out a haircut as if she knew my head because she had cut my hair just 7 days before, so I assumed she knew what I wanted. Unfortunately she did not, right away I try to tell her this wasn't what I wanted, it was to late the damage had been done. Not only did I not get the haircut I wanted but what I got was bad, each side of my head had a different fade, one side was way tighter than the other and not on purpose or in a good way and it just wasn't even. I had to tell her to fade in the hard lines she had left me. It was an uncomfortable situation. I left unsatisfied with my cut. It will take one or maybe two cuts to correct what she did. Didn't have a great experience. Brought my toddlers for a haircut, they had gladiator movie on multiple screens, super gory movie. They wouldn't change it. And there were other kids there too. They obviously don't care of customer service. Or maybe they prefer no kids in their shop. Also the barber stunk of cigarettes, and he cut way more than I asked. I said light trim. read more

My brother and dad have been going here for years, ever since Bao had his little shop on Valley Parkway. Wow. We have never once had any problems with their hair cuts. Bao is extremely friendly and funny, and I always have fun when I go in there. Though it usually my family who gets a haircut, Boa has always given me the same attention and includes me in the conversations. He even gives me a Lolypop and a high five (and I'm nearly 20). I remember this one time I got a haircut and decided to get bangs at a different shop. Three weeks later, it was time for my family's haircut visit. My bangs grew horribly and Bao fixed them for me for free, without me even asking. He just offered. Even though we wait for Bao on each visit, there were times that he was unavailable. Bad experience today. I've been here quite a few times and I always tip well. I showed up today looking to get my hair trimmed, and was seated. My barber listened to my desired specs and proceeded to cut. However, when several other customers entered the shop, HE THEN INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD NEED TO WAIT WHILE HE CUT SOMEONE ELSE'S HAIR, BECAUSE MINE WAS GOING TO TAKE TOO LONG IN HIS ESTIMATION. Goodness. I wasn't exactly sure what to say, so I asked if I could leave. I've never heard of something this bizarre happening at a barber shop, and I'm sorely disappointed that Bao chose to accommodate other customers whom he expected to take less time and make me wait after he'd already gotten started on my hair. This may be the most extreme example of poor customer service I've ever been subjected to. Not going back. read more
