I will never order from a company again that uses YRC to deliver. After a delayed delivery due to weather a representative finally called and scheduled a delivery date and time between 8-12.; even their incompetent website showed a delivery date of the date scheduled. Once the driver didn't show around 12:30, I contacted the company to see if my delivery was still scheduled for today. The representative had the nerve to question if I spoke with someone. Excuse me. My time is valuable and I wouldn't have made up a date and time in my head. The customer service specialist stated her system reflected a delivery date of the following date. I have NEVER had delivery issues with any other carrier, but this company has proven that any business that supports them will not be getting my money. Just HORRIBLE service all the way around. Never order anything that uses this company. I ordered from Amazon and kept getting calls from YRC saying they would be delivering on a certain day. Long story short, they gave me the wrong dates, and had no idea where my package was even when it was on the truck and they had even attempted delivery! The delivery guy stuck a note on my door using some archaic adhesive which has left a huge mass of paper stuck to my front door and doesn't come off without scraping which has scratched my door. I called and left a message with the warehouse manager expressing my dissatisfaction and he has never returned my call. These people don't seem qualified or current with modern practices. A delivery company that can't tell you when they will be delivering? Save yourself the frustration and choose another shipping method. I called Amazon and the seller to complain about this company as well....hopefully they will consider other delivery companies in light of all the bad reviews on YRC. read more

I wish I had read the reviews here before using this company. The pickup from our office was fine however, they damaged one of our shipping cases. I'm still in the process of getting a damage claim. The worst of it was failing to pick up our pallets on a scheduled delivery day even though they provided me with a pick up confirmation number. Had I known they wouldn't have picked up our pallets, I would have secured other options but no one from YRC told me until after the fact. The thing I must mention is that I spoke with a handful of customer representatives over the weekend with everyone assuring me they would pick up our pallets even though it was Easter Sunday. However, when I found out nothing was picked up, our pallets were resent to a warehouse (which we must bear the cost for) and they gave me the excuse that they probably missed the pick-up because it was a Sunday AND a holiday. I told them time after time that because I was aware of this, I called numerous times just to quadruple-check that our pick-up was confirmed. The manager informed me that the pick-up confirmation was cancelled somehow. Ummm...did someone from YRC not want to come and thought cancelling would be the best option to piss off their customer? When I talked to the manager, there was no empathy and they have not even tried to keep our business. We gave YRC a shot at this trade show but have had such a TERRIBLE experience. Even though they are a cost effective option, if you calculate all the time required in dealing with these issues, they are not the best value. Plus, I strongly prefer not to deal with them again. The absolute worst. I shipped a sewing machine from Atlanta to Los Angeles, using Navis [also the worst], and they apparently contracted with YRC to deliver locally. I received a voicemail from a woman at YRC with a tracking #, stating my machine had been labeled with the wrong city [wtf? how?? and does no one check the zip code???]. When I called back 10 minutes later, she couldn't figure out who I was and what I was talking about-- "that must have been me, but I can't find any information". She then rambles on for at least 15 minutes about nothing and that my machine is in the wrong warehouse... somewhere in Los Angeles, and needs to go to Burbank. After more rambling about nothing, she says she will call me back. She is a moron, so I call the number that showed up in my phone, rather than the number she left on my voicemail. I get ahold of another woman who seems to know what's what, and she immediately finds my shipment info and sets up a delivery for Monday [it's Friday]. Great. 15 minutes later I get a call back from the first Dingbat. More rambling, but turns out she finally found my info and that she needs to get the machine transferred to a Burbank warehouse, then they can schedule a delivery. But I just did? Oh, the other woman was wrong, she scheduled it but the machine won't even be there yet, you'll have to wait for someone to call you next week when it shows up and then schedule a delivery. At some point in this 20 minute "conversation", she mentions that she and the other woman are actually sitting across the room from each other, and after walking over to rummage through paperwork she found my info. What the hell???? I send a blistering email to Navis, since they are closed for the day and calling another office where I am referred to a woman who finds my info [despite them giving me the wrong tracking #] and she spends the next 15 minutes actually imagining out loud and talking about what could have gone wrong to cause this situation. "I'm just trying to explain what could have happened." What????? 1. I don't fucking care what MIGHT have happened, this is the situation. 2. Where is my machine. I was really pissed, and while I understand she came in at the end, she just made it worse with more idiocy. The actual Navis office I used responds to my angry email with a corrected tracking # and says that the machine has *just* been sent to Sunland [what happened to Burbank?] and that I will get a call soon to schedule a delivery. Which I don't. I call the phone number given, and leave my info and the tracking on a voicemail for the person who schedules deliveries. Another weekend goes by [this is 3+weeks after initially shipping], and I get a call on Monday morning. It's a driver who is out on the street with my machine. What?? What happened to scheduling a delivery??? He doesn't know anything about anything, so I just go down and get it. Luckily, I was home. Just complete morons. Don't ever, ever use. And when you ship something, ask what freight company they use, because it might be this one. read more

YRC is by far the worst freight company I have ever encountered. I had a simple shipment, 1 pallet of tile, going from New York to Texas, which I need to finish a commercial construction project. At every turn, YRC screwed this up. 1. They missed the first pick up date from my distributor. 2. They up charged me for an expedited shipment with a guaranteed delivery date for 3 days later. 3. They missed their second pick up date from my distributor. 4. They give me another guaranteed delivery date for 2 days after my first one. 5. They loaded my shipment onto the wrong truck, and shipped it to the wrong location. 6. After locating my shipment, they shipped it back to its original terminal. 7. By this time, it's now the day of my 2nd guaranteed delivery date, and the material is still stuck in Pennsylvania. YRC then informs me that there is nothing that they can do to rectify the situation, despite their constant screw ups. 8. I found a 3rd party freight company who was willing to rescue the material from Pennsylvania, at a huge expense to myself, and bring it straight to Texas so I can finish my project on time. However, YRC refused to release the material to them because they said it was already loaded on a trailer. So despite the fact that they repeatedly dropped the ball, they were once again refusing to do anything to help the situation. 9. They informed me that if I still wanted to use a 3rd party carrier to pick up the shipment, I would have to pick it up at their terminal in Memphis. They informed me the trailer would be arriving at the Memphis location the next day at 5 pm. 10. The shipment finally arrived at the Memphis location, almost 24 hrs after they told me it would. 11. Throughout the entire ordeal, most of the customer service reps I talked with were extremely unhelpful. With one exception, a woman named Silvia, everyone I spoke with sounded extremely put out by the whole thing, and very reluctant to try and help me. 12. After all the mistakes, all of the hassle, and the thousands of dollars they cost me, YRC refused to refund the cost of the expedited shipment because of "weather delays." If you are considering using this company, I HIGHLY recommend that you avoid them at all costs. You are better off renting a Uhaul and driving cross country to pick it up yourself. read more

Ditto to every one star given. And ditto to all the complaints. Had I read the reviews prior to letting my shipper use these folks I would have not agreed to use this company. It was a fiasco with workers and trucks subcontracted out, trucks whose lift gates wouldn't work, lateness from the time window given, and rudeness and disrespect to the person who was paying for the $1,500 shipment - and happened to be a woman - me. They treated me like I wasn't there. Big mistake. My shipment next year will not be with this company. It's a mystery to me how these folks are still in business. The branch manager kept saying "what do you want me to do?" I kept telling him I'm, not in the trucking business and so can't solve this for you, but you could certainly start out with an apology and then figure out a solution. Ridiculous. (Frankie, one of the drivers, was the only "sweet spot" in the three days of attempted delivery. He was as nice and understanding as he could be under very" trying" circumstances.) read more

YRC delivered a vanity I ordered from Overstock.com. Communication and scheduling up to delivery day was very good. However, experience on day of delivery was so bad it marred the whole experience. I paid extra on Overstock for inside home delivery (garage or inside front door - not room of choice, but in a dry area). The first delivery man argued with me that "threshold" means "driveway" and wanted to leave this 100 lb delivery there outside on my driveway. I had to call the company myself and hand over the phone to the second delivery man so he could hear directly from them that the item needed delivered inside. The first man refused and sat in the truck while the other man struggled by himself to deliver the very heavy item into my front hallway. To top it all off, they left the pallet in my driveway. If I order from Overstock again I will verify shipping company before doing so because I would not desire this experience again, especially for a pretty expensive furniture item. read more

Terrible shipping company - our two items included a brand new tv that was professionally packaged in the box with protective casing as well as a piece of medical equipment worth over $2600 were damaged beyond repair. We were told that the insurance they have only pays .10 cents on the dollar for our items and our emails were ignored. NEVER USE THEM!! read more

Through a broker, I hired a YRC to bring 4 pallets of insulation from Nixa MO to Minnetrista MN, for $516, it was estimated to take two days. YRC picked it up 5-6 days late after many errors and let my shipment sit at the distribution center in Burnsville MN. To try to save my relationship with my customer I had to go pick it up. So it wasn't even delivered the whole way. The dollar amount of the YRC bill was a ridiculous $5990. The pallets were taller and heavier than estimated, but since they could not be stacked it should have made no difference in the cost. Mark Branham of YRC said it was easier to ship with the added weight. We had a quote from YRC, through a broker for $516. So over ten times that is excessive. Through the YRC website I ran a quote with the actually height and weight of the four pallets, which came up to $615, so I offered that. Instead they are hounding me for the ridiculous many thousand dollar bill. read more

What a horrible company! Do not ever use this company, Ever. I had a client sending an item here to include with another product I was shipping to him. Delivery was scheduled for x day and it never showed up. 2 days later I looked into it and called them. They said sorry we can deliver 2 days from now and I agreed. They asked would you like for us to call you on delivery day when driver is close? I answered that would be great and they did come 2nd delivery date. I was floored when I later opened up a letter from them and it claims we are Past Due on a bill of $45.25 which is called a "Notify before delivery fee". I called them to dispute a fee which I never agreed to and knew nothing of and they smugly claimed that this is their policy and nothing I can do about it. I will be passing this on to our lawyer and see his opinion on this matter. I never asked to do business with this crappy Corporation and never agreed to any $45 fee for a 15 second phone call to give me a heads up that they would actually be keeping their rescheduled delivery date. Then they charge extra because we didn't have a loading dock even though we told them ahead of time they did not disclose that they would be any extra fees. Had a shipment and then got a bill for an extra $150.00. They said it was because it was a residential address. It has been commercial for the last 40 years. They said they check zillow to see if its a business. If they would have checked google or the business name I cage them they would have seen it was commercial. They I needed help today on the shipment and they refused. If you like damaged and destroyed shipments then this is the freight company for you. One shipment damaged 3 separate times and we were told in order to get reimbursed we had to ship with them on the replacement loads. They each came in damaged after the first was totally destroyed. We were paid for the first one that they kept because I refused it but our claim was denied on the replacement load that was damaged to the point it was unusable. The third one we had repaired locally and didn't even file. I've directed our shipping company to never use YRC again. read more

Never use this company!! they picked up from manufacture on 6/14/16, I was told my product would be delivered on 6/17/16, no one showed up, I called they said they would hot sheet the order it would be here on 6/20/16, no one showed had to send the extra employees home for the day, i called again they said order will be here 6/21/16, guess what no show, I called today 6/22/16 spoke to there customer service department again. they said ohhh i'm sorry we will hot sheet this for tomorrow.. WTF! I thought it had already been hot sheeted. Well again here I sit waiting for a delivery supposed to be here tomorrow. we will see what happens. Stay FAR away. My husband had 17 boxes shipped from Colorado to Chicago in August. Only 11 ever showed up. After calling around a lot I found out the 6 remaining boxes were sitting in a shipping container at a local Chicago office. I was promised a delivery of the next Wednesday and they didn't show. Then after calling again they came, and two of the boxes were annihilated, no other word for it. Of course these boxes held the pottery pieces my husband made in college which were pretty much turned into powder. I'm sure the reason these boxes were "lost" was because the company didn't want us to know they'd destroyed our possessions. They were scheduled to deliver my shipment on a certain date. But they never even call me to schedule delivery, nor did they deliver it on the scheduled date of delivery. After calling several times and going to voicemail, I finally spoke with someone, who transferred me to another person, who transferred me to another person, who wanted to transfer me to another person and I said, "hell no." Then he told me they can't deliver outside after 5pm or on the weekend--basically, they can only deliver when most customers are at work. Go figure. Horrible service. BTW, I live in Indianapolis. Ugh. Lack of care destroyed my long boxes. Sure their insurance paid for the custom remake of my items but it caused a 90 day delay and a lot of headaches. It went point to yrc to point destination. Only a short trip, yet there was oil all over the boxes that didn't damage anything, but the boxes were pierced and snapped in half. I didn't have a choice to use them as a carrier... I used them 3 times: 1st time the shipment arrived completely wet because the trailer's cover allegedly had a cut on the roof, apparently the dimensions of my freight were even wrong so they extra charged me 2nd time the shipment delivery is delayed of 1 day with no notice from anybody, yet when it finally arrives it is all dirty like they had put something on top of it even though I wrote that was fragile, they extra charge me because apparently the dimensions were wrong (again), at this point I believe we use different unit of measure 3rd time they don't show up for the pickup for two days in a row and they don't even advise about this problem. I call and first they say that yesterday they didn't make on time to get at the warehouse for pickup. I was expecting today they were picking up my freight, it didn't happen again. I call ten times my assigned assistant and no answer. I call the main line and finally I speak with an extremely rude woman that says that they couldn't pick up my freight because that was not ready at the warehouse (not true) and if I don't believe her it won't be her problem. After been treated like a sh*t, I immediately cancel my scheduled pick up and claim for a refund. At this point I'm not even expecting to get the money back. You have got to be kidding me!!! This is worst than a joke and is on the borderline of a scam. I wonder how such a bad company can still be on business. Beware!!! read more

I wish that there were negative stars, because this trucking company sucks beyond belief! In the past two weeks I've had two companies use YRC to ship my purchases. On the first one they held my sink hostage wanting $164 for lift-gate service where none was needed. When the shipper took care of the superfluous charge, YRC sent me a bill for the service! The second time they are shipping my purchase to the store in Nashville. It's a week overdue because a YRC employee screwed up, and now it's sitting on their dock in Nashville rather than being delivered. The store manager told YRC that he'd come down to the dock and get it for me so they don't have to make a trip, and they wanted to charge HIM $244 to do THEIR JOB for them! I have been trying to deal with this company for a while now. One of my clients purchased an AC unit from Budget. Budget seems to use these people for there shipping needs and this proving to be a bad decision. I will never use this shipping company again. I will also not be buying from Budget if they insist on using these morons. They don't have time to answer the phone and when they do happen to make time they are rood. They know the ac unit is sitting in a warehouse in Henderson NV. and supposed to be in Reno NV. They know it is at the wrong warehouse but can't get it to me because they need to hear it from Budget. Budget has to be the people to request the unit be shipped to the correct address. The only person from Budget that can do this is the lady that placed the shipping order. Of course she is gone on vacation for 6 days. You know 4th of July. All parties knew the unit is still sitting at the wrong warehouse and the temps here in Reno are going to be in the hundreds today. I am on the phone again with YRC, twenty minutes so far this morning and still no response. Now I look closer and see they are located in San Hose Cal. Again, horrible service! Our freight arrived at their Sun Valley, CA yard on 12/6 - 5 miles from our business. Today, 12/13, it is STILL NOT DELIVERED. When I called, I was told they FORGOT about it! FORGOT!!?? This is impossible to fathom! They are 100% incompetent and you should NEVER EVER use Yellow Freight! They say we will have it tomorrow. Why not today?? They think their customers are the businesses they ship for and they act as if their job is done once they get the shipment. They show absolutely no care for the end user waiting on deliveries, which are the clients of their customers. I lost two entire days of work waiting on a delivery from them because their communication with was soo terrible. As well, what they said was completely unreliable. A five hour window on day two turned into a 9 hour window without a single call from them. Then they acted as if I was just lucky they were still delivering it. I am left not wanting to order from any company that uses them for delivery again. Basically my furniture now cost the sticker price plus two days of work because they are not competent enough to have a schedule, stick to it, or keep the end-users informed well enough that they don't have to wait all day and evening for a delivery. Furthermore, it's one thing not be open to the public on the weekend, but in 2014 any freight service that does not process their internal shipments on the weekends is not one that actually deserves to be delivering ANYTHING for business. read more

Had to get a big heavy package sent to me, and receiving the shipment normally wasn't possible, so I had it shipped and held at YRC in SSF. Their service was prompt, courteous, and perfect. They handled the odd pickup perfectly (they normally truck to the customer and drop off at loading docks), and even helped me break the load down so it would fit in the back of my vehicle. I'll definitely use them again. read more
