I used YRC only once, and it was perhaps the most miserable experience I have ever had as a consumer. Avoid this company like the plague. After finding YRC through Freightquote, I used them to ship a defective mower back to the manufacturer for warranty work. YRC delivered my mower two weeks later, and only after completely destroying it. The mower had been literally crushed in transit, voiding my warranty. Though FQ eventually refunded the shipping charge, I was still out several hundred dollars for the mower, since YRC refused to cover a dime of my property that they destroyed. After a lengthy claim process facilitated by FQ, my claim was unsuccessful, simply because the manufacturer mistakenly signed for the shipment before realizing the damage. My choice to use YRC cost me $350, due to their complete negligence in ruining my property and their refusal to do anything about it. Choose another shipper and pay more, if necessary, to avoid using this shoddy and completely irresponsible organization. read more

Same experience for me times 2. First for New furniture delivery coming from Sacramento CA - San Jose CA. It took a month called a bunch of time they couldn't get there story straight where my shipment was said it was on trailer xx or yy then couldn't tell me if it was on a tailor or in a warehouse. I called the furniture company and they told me YRC picked it up the next day after we purchased,Sacramento is a 1.5 hour drive to San Jose. Fast forward my furniture was sitting in a YRC warehouse in Stockton for a month !!- they said "oh your the person that that stuff belong to"we can deliver in 2 weeks to San Jose !!!! wtf. NEXT 11/29/18 ordered Air Hockey table from Walmart for a "on time delivery" of 12/10/18 for Christmas- they sent it YRC from Florida- San Jose (had I known) I called YRC immediately and said will I get it on promise date ? "Oh sure" you will said customer service - I said according to tracking its been sitting in your YRC Florida warehouse for (4) days so far !!! Customer service "Oh it should leave today if everything goes well" the delivery date changes every morning to another day farther out.There system as promise dates are pushed out call it "another on time delivery" I have ZERO CONFIDENCE it will arrive in time for Christmas The more stores force online ordering the worse service becomes ,now i'am angry at Walmart because of YRC's "performance record" I will Shop Local first for in store items where I have control. read more

I was a little hesitant using them since I noticed a lot of bad reviews, but I wasn't in a rush to get my shipment and their online quote system gave me a very good price. Shipped a few pallets from the east coast to bay area, it took a little under a week. They were a little late picking it up, but no biggie. I got status updates emailed every day (you can sign up to get alerts on their website) and they called the day before delivery to confirm. Everything arrived as it was packaged, no problems whatsoever, and the 2 people I talked to were nice enough. First time I've had to use a freight shipper, but I thought they were great. They're national, so your results may vary depending on location I suppose. read more

I have to assume they had no reason to lie to me so it must be that they simply didn't care enough to look into my shipment to give me an accurate status, or they were confused and incompetent. As delivery got closer I had to contact them several times because literally every person I talked to gave me a story that contradicted the pervious person. Of course every new person I talked to would say they had no idea why anyone would have told me what the did. YRC called me to say that the bathroom vanity I had ordered from Overstock would be delivered late on a Thursday. It wasn't. Then they called to say that the vanity would be delivered the following Saturday. It wasn't. Next I was told to expect it the following Monday. Alas, it didn't come. So I got in touch with Overstock and said that if the vanity wasn't delivered within "two days" I was returning it. The day after I got in touch with Overstock, the vanity was delivered, but no one from YRC bothered to call me ahead of time to make sure I would be home. It's a good thing I happened to be home. The vanity was supposed to be delivered to the nearest "covered area"--either a porch or garage. After I heard the rumble of a truck in my drive, I went outside and discovered that the boxed vanity had been left in my driveway, right next to my garage door. The two guys in the truck were preparing to leave. I ran after the truck and yelled, "Wait! You guys were supposed to deliver the vanity into either my garage or on to a covered porch." The driver rolled down his window and said, "No, ma'am, according to our instructions this was supposed to be delivered to the front of your garage door." But I had spoken to not one, but TWO, representatives from YRC Freight and both of these women had assured me that the vanity would be delivered to the "nearest covered area," either to a porch or inside a garage (someone at Overstock had also verified that the vanity would be delivered to the inside of my garage). I had explained to each of these individuals that I would not be able to get the boxed vanity into my garage without some help. "Don't worry," I was told repeatedly. "YRC Freight will deliver your vanity to the inside of your garage." Well, the two YRC delivery men were NOT going to do that and a storm was on the way. I knew that the vanity would be exposed to elements that might ruin it before any hired help could come to move it for me. "You guys are screwing me up the ass!" I yelled, in complete frustration as they prepared to leave. One of the men smiled, as if he was amused by my comment and that's when (I'm ashamed to admit) I began to cry like a blubbering fool. In that moment, I felt completely defeated by the whole affair. The other man said, "Wait. Don't cry. We'll get this pushed into your garage for you." And they did. However, they would only provide a 10-hour window of when they would show up. I took the day off of work to sit around and wait, but they never showed up. Amazingly poor service. I've used them three times now per an underwritten contract I cannot avoid. Twice they didn't make it the day scheduled. A rude customer service rep told me I could only schedule between 1-3 pm for pickups. On the third pickup I they arrived at 11:30 and I was on schedule for 1 pm.....following their RULES! They scheduled my 2000 lb shipment for the next day. At 2 pm I called the local dispatch and was told he was on his way and would arrive before 3 pm. Nope. No one ever showed on day 2, which was a Friday. I called dispatch multiple times after 3 pm. No one answered the phone. Later I contacted YRCs customer service who didn't know anything about my shipment but finally found it in their system. It was not rescheduled for Monday!!!! Dispatch and the driver just went home for the weekend. No one called me Friday afternoon to tell me. Waited 8 hours Friday. Poor trucking company. Horrible communication. read more

I received a shipment with free shipment from a seller that used YRC freight. I scheduled the delivery calling the customer service and the delivery was done withing the delivery window. I am happy about that. The driver delivered the goods inside the garage and received signature from me. Suddenly in a month I received an invoice from them asking to pay immediately as it was overdue. When I called back, I was told that it was the charge for inside delivery when no one told me about this extra charge while scheduling the delivery or during delivery. You have to be very careful as they can send an invoice even though you never knowingly purchased anything from them. Now I am getting collection notices for this invoice and I am refusing to pay as I was never told orally or in writing that there are additional charges for dropping the heavy goods inside the garage. If I was told either by customer service or by the driver, I would be happy to pay if I used that extra service. Be careful even if you think you are receiving a free shipment. read more

Called the morning the shipment was to be delivered after arranging to be in the office on my day off as it was critical to receive this shipment on that day, 7/22. The trailer that the box was on had not been unloaded so was not going to be delivered until 7/25. I asked if there was a place I could go and pick it up then realized that this box will not fit in my vehicle so said, "never mind." Called 7/25 to verify that it would be delivered; it was sitting on the dock because I had said I was picking it up. Now is supposedly to be delivered 7/26. We shall see. A very bad experience with YRC Freight transporting a Toyota forklift from Oregon to Montana. I received a price quote for $572, because the quote had a termination date on it, I called and updated it just before it was to be picked up - price still the same. Sent the Bill of Laden to shipper but for some reason a different BOL was used. Forklift went to SLC then DEN then it was 'lost' in the shuffle, finally YRC found it in the front of a truck 5 hours South of DEN (wrong direction). Finally I received it 10 days after the shipping date promised. YRC invoiced me for $901, I refused to pay, they turned it over to collections, I still refused until finally they gave me a new invoice for $572. This took nearly 5 months to resolve. Terrible tracking. Called three times today, first two say that it is out for delivery. No one calls to schedule a time. Call a third time and they tell me that the local depot wants to talk to me to set up a time. Why didn't they call? Why did they tell me it was out for delivery? Now they say they can't get it to me until next week because they are a delivery company that doesn't have a proper delivery truck. You know it's not a good delivery company when the best option is to drive 75 miles to pick up your packages rather than have them delivered. Well they lost one of the pallets and we didn't get it back for 3 weeks, not to mention the run around they gave us as when they were trying to locate it. This has been a very stressful process for us, we import parts and other goods from China every month and deal with numinous trucking companies and have never experience such poor service and highway robbery behavior, I don't know how much you are paying for this trucking company to do your shipping but even if they delivered for free , I would never hire them to represent my company. YRC Freight is the worst shipping company I've ever dealt with. My first experience with them was when I had a crate of airplane parts set for delivery at an airport in Georgia. I flew in from out of town to take delivery of the crate and was only going to be in town for one day. I set up a delivery date with YRC and their delivery department told me to be on site from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM. I checked the next day with the delivery dispatcher and was assured my crate was out for delivery. I waited all day long and the driver never showed up! When I called the next day, YRC was unable to give me a reason why their driver never showed up. They also told me they only delivered to my city on Tuesdays and Thursdays so they offered to redeliver my crate the following week! I told them I was flying from GA to TX the next day and their solution was unacceptable. So, they sent a driver out the next day. He was unable to find his way to my location. UPS, FEDEX, and the Postal Service don't have any problems finding our airport and every one of them makes deliveries every day of the week. The driver called me and told me he got lost and if I wanted my crate I'd have to meet him at the Walmart in town in 10 minutes or else he was going to leave. My second experience was much of the same. The driver failed to show up on my delivery date and never bothered to call. YRC offered to deliver my airplane part the following week. Again, I told them this was unacceptable. After YRC delivered my item the following day, they billed the shipper an extra $80 because his driver had to deliver to an airport address. They are hands down the worst shipping company I've ever dealt with and I will go out of my way to make sure every item I ever order will NOT be delivered by their company. read more

Had the worse experience with this delivery company. this company was to call in advance about the delivery to my house. They did not call and dropped by unexpected. Lucky for them someone was home. During the delivery they were in a rush and wanted to leave this medical device in my drive way. I want to explain that this unit is about 7' tall and extremely expensive and fragile. The delivery guy then left in my garage, but in setting the unit down he droped it about 6". Low and behold I come to find my unit is damage and all the glass material inside was shattered beyond repair. Needless to say very upset. I also got word from my neighbor that he saw the delivery guy drop my unit in the street prior to ringing my door bell. NICE Right? So I am finally get a new one today. and they actually called to have it schueduled for delivery this afternoon, but once again have problems. They call me to rechedule for THIS morning. I have to leave work from SJ and drive all the way up to Newark. I do it anyways. When i get home they are late. and is the same driver. He acutally asked why they were taking the old unit back. I told him because when he delivered it he had droped it and broke it. He then proceeded to leave this unit in the garage again. So i call YRC and the supervisor was not very friendly on the phone and told me it wasn't his problem and i should call the company I ordered the unit from . I did so and the the driver then proceeded to yell at the rep i had on the phone. He then left and didn't delivery my unit. NEVER will i use this company again. I am very upset over the delivery situation for a recent shipment from a company in Michigan. I recently received a PAST DUE bill for "redelivery" in the amount of $94.68. One,YRC never called me as they were supposed to when the books arrived in Nashville, Tennessee where I live. I had to call them on that Friday to see whether or not the books were out for delivery. The lady told me NO. She said they were on the dock and then asked me if I would like to pick them up. Arrogance on parade. Why would I pay for delivery and then come pick them up? And how am I supposed to load a skid of books in a Nissan Altima? We then arranged for them to deliver the books on Monday and to call me when the driver was on his way, and they said they'd have them to me by noon. I waited at the house all morning and finally called them at 11:30 when they didn't call. She said they couldn't find the books. She said she'd call me that afternoon to let me know where the books were. I got no such call. The next morning, I had to call THEM! The man said they were on the truck for delivery and the driver would call me when he was in the area, which he did. I lost a whole morning because I had to wait at the house for the delivery, which came around 11:00. It would have been nice if they had let me know as they had told me they would. Each time I explained the problems, I got no "I'm sorry," or "We'll do our best to take care of it to your satisfaction." NOTHING! Their attitude was "this is how it is and this is what we'll do." Repeat -- no apology, no anything. And again, yesterday, I get a bill for $94.68 saying it was a redelivery charge, when it fact, they never made an attempt before finally delivering them. Horrible! Item was never shipped, just sat at the warehouse for 3 weeks while we tried to get it delivered. Ended up getting a refund on the product. They attempted to deliver once without contacting us and we weren't home (the week following the delivery window). They expected us to get a 1000# safe off the truck. "Delivery" just included driving up to the house. Seller paid a "Tommy Lift" fee so it would actually be placed on the ground. After three calls to get the delivery scheduled and told we would be called back, we never were. There is ZERO customer service at this company. The Farmington NM office is terrible. We purchased a vanity from qualitybath.com (who by the way have fine products and have been a good company to buy from) - who chose to have YRC as the delivery company. What a mistake it was that YRC was chosen! The item was initially promised for delivery on a Friday. We called on the Friday morning to check if the item was still on for delivery since the web site showed it as ready for delivery. The woman who picked up the phone told us - no it was not going to be delivered that day since it had not yet arrived in their local dock! What if we had not called? Would they have kept us waiting all day? Did no one think to call us? Well anyway, things only get worse. The woman told us that the item would be delivered the following Monday and she gave us a 3 hour window of time. We waited and waited. When 2 hours and 40 minutes had passed, someone from the company called us and told us that the item could not be delivered since the driver had departed without picking it up from the dock! So the item would only be delivered on Tuesday. No sorry. No apologies for the waste of our time. What sort of a shipping company is this that a driver leaves without knowing what is in his truck? On Tuesday, we were told that the delivery window was from 9 to noon. The item arrived at our house at 130pm. It was raining. The driver said that his job was to just drop the item off on the kerb - even though it was raining and my wife is 9 months pregnant. He refused to even lend other people in the house a hand to move the item in or just out of the rain. I dont think that I have ever encountered a delivery company that is as badly run or where our experience was as miserable. The staff lacks training and frankly basic courtesy. My experience with this company has been exceptionally poor. If I could add negative stars I would do so. I placed an order for a piece of furniture and was told the order would require an additional payment of $299.00 for "white glove delivery" which would include communication by the delivery company with us to plan the delivery of the item and set up in my home. We paid the delivery cost at the time of order. I did not have any advance notice of delivery until they arrived at my home and called me at work to say they were there for delivery. They would not wait the 20 minutes for me to arrive home, but offered to leave an expensive piece of furniture in my driveway during winter in NY. They set up a second delivery day for one week later. We are waiting for the delivery which was supposed to have been between 1-5 pm. I contacted customer service and there was nothing they could do to help. They cannot reach the truck and I am out of luck. I would not recommend this business to anyone who needs shipping. Their customer service person was very nice, but was not empowered to find a solution. I am reaching out to the original company through which I placed the furniture order to let them know about my experience so that other customers don't have this exceptionally poor experience. They are the worst. They are chosen by many large corporations due to their inexpensive rates. However, you pay for it in lost freight, delayed freight, damages and lost customers. Forget about contacting customer service because they will only give you apologies and no solutions. Their reps will come in and show us charts and graphs and tell us there is no issue. Freight arrived to my facility multiple times with foot prints on it. Difficult to get claims back. Avoid them at all cost. Time Critical/Guaranteed freight is a joke. They still fail to deliver on time even when you pay the added freight cost. Apparently, YRC does not know the meaning of the word guaranteed. In most lanes they actual never deliver to their quoted transit times. In TX to NY they deliver in 8 days instead of the 4 they quote. read more

If you order something on-line and you see the shipping carrier is YRC cancel your order immediately. Everyday I get a 9am-1pm time frame for delivery and everyday they call at 1:30, 3:15pm and now 3:50pm and tell me they are running late and will have to reschedule. it's hit and miss with YRC. i had a driver come by my shop to pick up 8 transmission cores. The first thing he asked me when he arrived at my shop was "do you guys have a forklift?" When i answered "no" he just got back in his truck and was about to drive off. Luckily, I ran out of the shop and told him that I have 2 employees who already stacked the crates in one area of the garage, and would help him load them into his truck, so we didn't need a forklift. He reluctantly backed the truck near one of my garage doors and he absolutely refused to lend a hand to help my 2 employees load them up onto his truck which had no liftgate. he didn't even have the stickers to put on the crates, and refused to give me any even after i provided him a copy of the bill of lading. After he drove off and left all 8 crates still sitting in my shop's garage, my company called UPS freight who showed up at 8am sharp the next morning, and within 12 minutes, all 8 crates were loaded up onto his truck and gone. when there is Old Dominion, R&L, Conway, UPS, and many other freight carriers in the local area, YRC needs to make sure that they get rid of the old, grumpy drivers like Juan Heredia, who have such a crappy attitude, or else they will be losing a lot more business. I spoke with Rob, the location manager, and he assured me that this will not ever happen again, if we decide to use YRC in the future. who knows? everybody deserves a second chance...but this review stays at a 1-star until then. read more

I have to say, this company doesn't know how to actually deliver shipments. I bought some tractor implements from back east and needed them urgently for planting season. It was scheduled for delivery on a Friday and on the Thursday before, I called to confirm delivery. On Friday, no show. So I called and confirmed delivery for Monday. Again on Monday, no show. Tuesday, same deal. Despite me calling each day prior, same deal, no show, no call, nothing. By Tuesday I was pissed. On Tuesday, I called customer service and asked what was going on. She told me to hold while she called the terminal. (Which btw, happened every time poor too). When she got back on the phone she told me she didn't know what to tell me. I told her that wasn't good enough and she told me, "I'm in the same boat as you". When I explained to her, she certainly wasn't even in the same ocean, she told me, she would get a manager. After talking to her and another hold, she conferenced in the terminal manager who told me the items would be delivered the following day between 8-10am. Imagine my surprise when 10am came and went. I Allen yet again and was then called by the driver who told me he was late (yeah, no kidding, thanks for the call and heads up). Well, they ended up getting delivered but I don't recommend using this shipper. I'll be avoiding them. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I made the mistake of ordering a desk from Overstock who apparently uses this company for shipping. The desk weighs 400 plus pounds, shipped in 3 boxes. They send a freight truck to deliver it, when the guy asks where I want it, I said just inside the front door. I knew he wasn't going to take it to the second floor. He tells me that, due to legal reasons, he can't deliver inside the home. Had I known this, I would never have even bothered having it delivered at all. Since it was threatening rain, I had him put it in the garage which is attached to the home so him coming inside the house would have been the same amount of effort. Terrible service and because of them, I won't buy furniture from Overstock again. read more
