Angry Dragon Roll & King Crab Roll
    Lindsay N.

Yu's Fusion occupies the space that once was First & Last Tavern (across the street from the Middletown Police Station on Main Street). The restaurant's dining area is large and can accommodate a lot of people. The booths are large, fitting six people and has a lot of privacy. There was a bar that seemed to be the center of the restaurant, it was nicely decorated, and seemed very clean. When we visited, it was a Saturday just passed noon, and Middletown was having a holiday celebration. Although, everywhere and anywhere of Middletown was busy, Yu's Fusion was not. The staff was very friendly and our food came out very fast. The menu had a lot of options from various asian dishes, sushi, hibachi, and cajun seafood boil. Many people in my party ordered bento lunches which came with miso soup, regular and signature sushi rolls. We started with edamame and Crispy Brussel Sprouts, which were tossed in teriyaki sauce and topped with peanuts. Unfortunately, the Brussels sprouts were over-roasted and tasted burnt. As for the sushi, we ordered the Angry Dragon Roll, Angel Roll, and King Crab Roll. While beautifully plated, the flavors didn't quite come together. The Angel Roll had a heavy mayo flavor, while the Angry Dragon Roll stood out with a nice kick from the fresh jalapeños on top. It wasn't the best sushi we've had, but it wasn't the worst either. Overall, Yu's Fusion was just okay. The variety is nice, but it feels a bit scattered. A more focused menu could allow them to really hone in on what they do best. I'm unlikely to return unless invited by friends or family, but it could work as a casual group dining option.

Decided to come here for a birthday lunch because a friend recommended it. Finding parking was pretty easy just have to walk a couple blocks to the restaurant. There were kiosks that take card. It was $1 an hour. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Inside it was decorated nicely. We were seated in a booth and it was pretty private from the other tables. The menu have a lot of different type of Asian food. From Chinese, Japanese, Thai and seafood boils. I learned when I restaurant have a lot of items on their menu the food can be just okay. The group order the bento lunches and some got sushi. The guests who got the bento lunch were satisfied but stated it was okay. I ordered two roll of sushi, the angry dragon and the king crab. It was beautiful decorated but to be honest I had better sushi elsewhere for cheaper. It was missing flavor, maybe it was the rice. We also order teriyaki Brussels sprout, it was too burnt and salty to my liking. The service was good and waiter was friendly. I had a good experience but I don't think I will be back.

We went here when it operated under a different name. We always liked it. It had a real fusion was called the Juicy Cajun. It's gone through some renovations and the menu seems more focused. A lot of sushi which is what we had. All the fish was very fresh. We had tuna tartare and if the fish isn't fresh-well you can't hide it. It was so good. They also have a variety of seafood boils and we're huge fans. That will be our next visit. Fair prices and fast, friendly service.

Everything we got here hit the spot. The rolls, the drinks, the boils. Super fast service. You don't have to believe me. My god I'm shocked it isn't busier.

I visited Yu's fusion this past week for a seafood boil with a dear friend who's also a seafood lover like me. We had such a great night filled with tasty 8$ sangrias (large pours) and crab legs, lobster and shrimp aka "the Weekend" I added sausage to mine and I'm so glad I did. I got the spicy fusion sauce and it wasn't that hot, but the sauce was fingerlicking good. Literally. I would be happy and excited to go back on any day. The service was impeccable and the booths were so cute and intimate. Thank you Yu's!

First time going to Yu's since it opened. Main St Middletown is always tricky for parking but plenty of spots are available in walking distance. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel the hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Bartender wad quick with drinks and water to stay hydrated lol. Food was amazing! So many options from soup to sushi to full entrees. Everyone in my party loves their food. Only complaint was when their plate was empty! Seating is a little private which is nice when dining and talking. To top night off, a band was playing in corner and were amazing. Definitely going back

Great Wall Chinese Restaurant - C29. Kung pao chicken combo. Chicken was fried, but mushy. Not spicy at all. Didn't taste like expected for kung pao. Wouldn't order again.

And of course, egg rolls! The spare ribs can be hit or miss if you get good pieces or fatty pieces. The sesame chicken is my absolute favorite, it's always crispy and the sauce is always good...hit or miss how spicy they get it, but I do love it when it's very spicy!! My husband loves to get the bbq rib and chicken fingers combo (chicken fingers are basically the same as sweet and sour chicken). Pro tip: If you order this, they don't automatically give you the red sweet and sour sauce for the chicken, so be sure to ask for the sauce when placing your order! I can't speak to the other items on the menu, as we usually get 2-3 of our favorites whenever we go. But the food is always fresh and hot, and they're very accommodating of special requests. I see now that they have online ordering, but we haven't tried it yet. This is definitely the best Chinese food in Middletown!

Great Wall Chinese Restaurant - S4. Orange chicken. This is in the chef special section so it only comes in large size. Crispy chicken, broccoli under it. A little spicy.

Merely peckish, we didn't order as much as we ordinarily would have. However, what we did order hit the spot, and resoundingly so. We ordered one cup of tom yum with coconut milk, one cup of tom yum with clear broth, spring rolls, and chive patties. The tom yum with coconut milk was almost like a curry: very filling and creamy. The tom yum with clear broth was spicy, with every sip bursting with flavour. The portions were absolutely gigantic, and we had plenty left over. The spring rolls were perfectly hot and perfectly crispy. The filling was also delicious. The chive patties were also fried to a crisp, and were my favourite item on the menu. The food took a relatively long time to come, but service was very friendly. The ambiance was warm, with some interesting East Asian artwork. I'm always excited about all-vegan places, just because I can eat everything listen on the menu and don't have to parse carefully to figure out what I can consume. Simultaneously, I hold these establishments to high standards: such restaurants need to be truly exceptional to thrive. My dining partner and I were delighted with our experience at Aroy, and hope to return when we're next in Connecticut.

There is ample free parking behind the building too. I was the only vegetarian in the group but the others loved it too! One friend ordered a banana dessert at the beginning of the meal! The presentation was excellent as it was served in a stemmed glass with a big swirl of whipped cream on top! She said it was delicious too! I ordered a Thai basil stir fry and one friend ordered the cashew stir fry. Both came with a side of white rice. My other friend ordered a big soup however I can't remember which one. We all absolutely loved all of our food! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. I will definitely come back as the menu is full of delicious sounding vegetarian food that I need to try!
