Angry Dragon Roll & King Crab Roll
    Lindsay N.

Yu's Fusion occupies the space that once was First & Last Tavern (across the street from the Middletown Police Station on Main Street). The restaurant's dining area is large and can accommodate a lot of people. The booths are large, fitting six people and has a lot of privacy. There was a bar that seemed to be the center of the restaurant, it was nicely decorated, and seemed very clean. When we visited, it was a Saturday just passed noon, and Middletown was having a holiday celebration. Although, everywhere and anywhere of Middletown was busy, Yu's Fusion was not. The staff was very friendly and our food came out very fast. The menu had a lot of options from various asian dishes, sushi, hibachi, and cajun seafood boil. Many people in my party ordered bento lunches which came with miso soup, regular and signature sushi rolls. We started with edamame and Crispy Brussel Sprouts, which were tossed in teriyaki sauce and topped with peanuts. Unfortunately, the Brussels sprouts were over-roasted and tasted burnt. As for the sushi, we ordered the Angry Dragon Roll, Angel Roll, and King Crab Roll. While beautifully plated, the flavors didn't quite come together. The Angel Roll had a heavy mayo flavor, while the Angry Dragon Roll stood out with a nice kick from the fresh jalapeños on top. It wasn't the best sushi we've had, but it wasn't the worst either. Overall, Yu's Fusion was just okay. The variety is nice, but it feels a bit scattered. A more focused menu could allow them to really hone in on what they do best. I'm unlikely to return unless invited by friends or family, but it could work as a casual group dining option.

Decided to come here for a birthday lunch because a friend recommended it. Finding parking was pretty easy just have to walk a couple blocks to the restaurant. There were kiosks that take card. It was $1 an hour. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Inside it was decorated nicely. We were seated in a booth and it was pretty private from the other tables. The menu have a lot of different type of Asian food. From Chinese, Japanese, Thai and seafood boils. I learned when I restaurant have a lot of items on their menu the food can be just okay. The group order the bento lunches and some got sushi. The guests who got the bento lunch were satisfied but stated it was okay. I ordered two roll of sushi, the angry dragon and the king crab. It was beautiful decorated but to be honest I had better sushi elsewhere for cheaper. It was missing flavor, maybe it was the rice. We also order teriyaki Brussels sprout, it was too burnt and salty to my liking. The service was good and waiter was friendly. I had a good experience but I don't think I will be back.

We went here when it operated under a different name. We always liked it. It had a real fusion was called the Juicy Cajun. It's gone through some renovations and the menu seems more focused. A lot of sushi which is what we had. All the fish was very fresh. We had tuna tartare and if the fish isn't fresh-well you can't hide it. It was so good. They also have a variety of seafood boils and we're huge fans. That will be our next visit. Fair prices and fast, friendly service.

Everything we got here hit the spot. The rolls, the drinks, the boils. Super fast service. You don't have to believe me. My god I'm shocked it isn't busier.

I visited Yu's fusion this past week for a seafood boil with a dear friend who's also a seafood lover like me. We had such a great night filled with tasty 8$ sangrias (large pours) and crab legs, lobster and shrimp aka "the Weekend" I added sausage to mine and I'm so glad I did. I got the spicy fusion sauce and it wasn't that hot, but the sauce was fingerlicking good. Literally. I would be happy and excited to go back on any day. The service was impeccable and the booths were so cute and intimate. Thank you Yu's!

First time going to Yu's since it opened. Main St Middletown is always tricky for parking but plenty of spots are available in walking distance. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel the hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Bartender wad quick with drinks and water to stay hydrated lol. Food was amazing! So many options from soup to sushi to full entrees. Everyone in my party loves their food. Only complaint was when their plate was empty! Seating is a little private which is nice when dining and talking. To top night off, a band was playing in corner and were amazing. Definitely going back

We came on a Friday evening and it was full but they were able to find us a table quickly. Inside, the place has a very casual feel and I honestly wasn't sure what we were going to get when we ordered. Just to say, looks were deceiving, but in a good way! The food was at a different (better) level than the ambience in the room. Basically, don't worry about how the place looks - you will love the food. Our waitress was sooo nice and friendly. We got our drinks quickly and ordered right away. Though we came for sushi, we were all mesmerized by the entree options and opted to try the bento boxes. I'm used to small bento boxes with tightly portioned foods and the "basics." What we got surprised us all. These bento boxes were actually huge plates of food. A full order of vegetable tempura, a whole California roll, entree, soup and gyoza. We barely made it through a quarter of it! And it was delicious! I got the chicken teriyaki and the chicken was so tender. The tempura was fried perfectly and the gyoza had a great flavor. All in all, I recommend you try this place out! Is it a fancy date night place? No. Is it a super casual date night place? Yes! Try the bento - you won't be disappointed! 4/5 stars only because they should spruce up the inside to match their amazing food!

The first thing I noticed was that clean restaurant smell; everything felt very well maintained, peaceful, and welcoming. As soon as you walk in and head downstairs, there's always someone ready to greet and help you. Customer service has consistently been friendly and attentive every time I've visited. This is the type of place you can take your parents, go on a first date, enjoy a family dinner, or even come alone with headphones and still feel comfortable. One thing I really appreciate is how quiet and intimate it feels inside. It's one of the few restaurants where you can actually hear your conversation without yelling across the table. I ordered takeout this visit because I was shopping nearby, but I've dined in before and would definitely come back to sit down and fully enjoy the atmosphere and authentic cuisine. This time I ordered the Thai pineapple fried rice with shrimp. The flavor was savory with a subtle sweetness from the pineapple, and it included peas, carrots, eggs, and small seeds throughout that added texture. The shrimp were medium sized, and my small to-go portion came with four pieces. The dish was delicious, but next time I'd probably order extra shrimp. They also have a large variety of menu options including sushi, hibachi, vegetarian dishes, and specialty drinks. I especially love that they offer Japanese sodas and Tuesday drink specials Parking is convenient too. There's a public paid parking lot directly across from the restaurant. Definitely a relaxing and reliable spot when you want good food and a calm atmosphere. Already craving another visit

Nope it wasn't because the menu was old, my husband's meal was charged the right price. Why I didn't argue? Because the lady was on the phone when she brought us the check, I don't wanna bother her. No we won't come back again unfortunately. Good food but I can't stand dishonest business.

I ordered the cucumber roll, Naruto roll, and rainbow roll. Everything tasted great and the rolls were really well made. When I went to eat the Naruto roll, I noticed it had imitation crab. Instead of asking about the crab right away, I ended up being too nervous to try it. The staff were incredibly kind and understanding and happily made me a new roll. The shrimp was excellent in the tempura and the vegetables [eggplant, yam and broccoli]. I don't think broccoli does well in tempura as it is too moist a vegetable. All in all, however, this is a filling and relatively inexpensive meal. Service was pleasant and well executed. It was a terribly hot day outside and the AC was not as cool as we had hoped. Enjoyed and will be back and next time will be sushi and sashimi!

She is very passionate about the menu and is very attentive to everyone. Thankfully, as our food was served she was there to explain that the best way to experience the chef's creation is to eat it as it presented (without soy sauce) first. She went on to explain that each dish is created with specific textures and flavors in mind to create an intentional balanced bite. She is absolutely correct and I am so glad we listened. In fact, after trying the "second" bite with soy sauce, we recognized that it was much better without it. The soy sauce is homemade and delicious but the sushi is so perfectly executed, it really does not need anything at all to shine. This is not your average sushi joint. The food and service will blow you away. Get the Princess Peach Roll if it's available. The Tiger Roll and the Flame Touch were also fantastic. They don't have their own restrooms; it is in the building (go down the stairs, then to the left under the stairs). They have AYCE and regular menu items. We came for AYCE, which you can order 3 rounds of, so make sure you order enough (but not too much, because you are charged for excessive leftovers). We only needed to order 2 rounds. They can get pretty busy, so it may take a bit to get your order, but they are good at making sure you get your whole order. The service is friendly as well. We ordered a large variety. The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice. The special rolls (we got Fancy Tuna, Enter the Dragon, Mango Tango and Spider Roll) are pretty heavy, as most of the flavor is from the sauces. You can order things without the dressing or sauces (see the house salad without dressing....yes, it's just lettuce lol) Make sure to save room for ice cream! They have Vanilla, Green Tea (Matcha), Strawberry, and Fried (Vanilla). The Green Tea is a really strong matcha, which I love! For $28/weekend adult pricing, it's a pretty good deal. Just make sure you leave time to sit and wait.
