Inedible. Ordered the green apple chicken salad- the chicken at first glance looked undercooked. I called to tell the associate. He said it was pre-cooked. I expressed that it looks raw & you can't just put soggy chunks of "pre cooked" chicken on a salad and expect customers to eat it. Don't waste your money! The associate offered no solution. I'm not typically one to complain, but it truly looked gross. Hopefully moving forward they will take the feedback into consideration. read more

My absolute favorite go-to poke place! Personally, I love to get kani salad on my poke, and most places have an up charge for this, or it counts as one of your two proteins, but at pokemoto it's free! They're always so generous with portion sizes, so reasonably priced, and stuff like kani doesn't cost extra :) Other items, such as tamago, do cost extra but I think everything is very reasonably priced. The place itself is always pleasant with kind service and easy seating. Their drink options are always nice, I like to get the lychee Calpico. We tried Pokemoto last week and were pleasantly surprised! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They can help with allergens. Most things are naturally gluten free, but only the mayo based sauces are gluten free. We tried two different bowls with a buy one get one coupon they sent out! We finally tried Pokemoto and I was shocked at how fresh it was! The counter was clean, the staff was patient and listened and everything is customizable!! They do toss their proteins and veggies in a bowl with your sauce choice, but they were willing to not do that also! I determined the burritos are a bit too dense for my taste, but on the plus side they now have tasty spam as an option! This is one of my favorite places to get poke. I mean poke is poke. They're are extremely similar because well, you don't really have to cook anything. But, I always have a memorable bowl here. Extra charge for masago is a little bit much but at least they have other things like red cabbage and radishes. I just really like the toppings here, nothing appears to be missing. Correct me of I'm wrong. The proteins were fresh and towards the end of my bowl there was still plenty left. So yes, they d give you a pretty good amount of food. As they should. The Kani Salad topping is a must for me. It's practically another protein but for free. Not only that, it tastes good here and it fills you up so you're not hungry later. I know I had a good poke bowl if I'm not hungry 75% of the way through. The restaurant itself was squeaky clean. It was almost like I could see my own reflection on the floors. It was notably clean when I walked in. Everyone was super friendly, very helpful and it felt like a judgement free zone when I was picking my toppings so that's always good. I also notice how pretty my bowl is when I get it. Sometimes at other places yeah it looks colorful but not pretty. Just another thing I noticed here, my bowl was notably pretty. I guess I could say I'm getting used to eating poke. I have it so much and I've had it from almost every single poke restaurant in the upper half of CT. I'm running out of things to say and it's hard to compare them because things aren't cooked, sauces are the same and they all have different toppings. However, I notice more things here and that's why they deserve this 5-Star rating. Pokemoto of Middletown is one of the better poke places out there. They consistently make memorable poke bowls in their squeaky clean establishment while maintaining a positive attitude when interacting with customers. I'm the kind of person that doesn't like to choose ingredients at fast-casual poke spots but this place got me covered! They have a list of signature bowls and build-your-own bowls. Bowls selections are rice or salad, or if you want, you can get a poke wrap. Pick your protein, they even have chicken and tofu as options if you don't like the raw stuff. And choose mix-in, sauces, and toppings according to your flavor profile. There is plenty of meter street parking but if you can't find any, there is a pay station parking lot in the back of the building. Miso Salmon (customized with all crunch)- Salmon, sweet onions, diced mango, cilantro tossed in creamy miso and topped with garlic chips. Love this! Sweet, creamy with greens and fruity flavors. I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled across this poke place. Their portions were very generous and they had a great BOGO deal when you sign up to follow them. If you check into Yelp, you'll also get a free dolewhip (but it's more like shaved ice). Overall, compared to big cities this place is okay but for New Haven's it's pretty good!! The reason for my lower rating is the last two times I ordered from them the cuts of fish were small and still had gristle so they were very chewy. Also I ordered kani salad and but into a couple pieces of shell. Nothing is more off putting than biting into shells, hair, gristle etc. Fortunately I found another poke spot called prince house and their cuts are huge and perfect! We decided to take a little break during our NY to RI road trip this past weekend, and stumbled upon Pokemoto in the adorable town of Middletown, Connecticut! Pokemoto is the next incarnation of a long line of Hawaiian poke-style restaurants that bring flavorful, healthy rice bowls and salads topped with sushi style fish to the masses. I have to say that besides Providence's Hometown Poke, Pokemoto might be my second favorite poke spot ever! You'll have to be "in the know" to find it, though. Even though there's a sign outside on the bustling street, it's nestled inside of this little indoor "mall", which houses a handful of cute local shops and even a coffee cafe. They were doing a holiday "sip n' shop" when we visited, so the place was quite lively with pre-December shoppers! However, the crowds didn't deter us, and we actually found the restaurant to be a calm oasis from the craziness outside. The dining area is immaculately clean, with shiny floors, plenty of seating, and aesthetically pleasing decorations. They also have a spotless bathroom, which was much appreciated after our long drive. I could see myself hanging out here and staying awhile to snack on some poke and just chill out. As for the food, it was a cut above your average poke shop, and the selection of toppings for bowls was impressive! They have the usual protein suspects: sushi tuna and sushi salmon, shrimp, grilled chicken, and tofu, but the "boringness" ends there! They have about 12 sauces, many which are made in-house. I really liked the "creamy miso" sauce - it was flavorful and packed a punch! Top your creation with everything from sliced mango to furikake seasoning (a Japanese sweet-salty spice that you won't want to miss), and you have the perfect healthful snack or lunch! I love when a restaurant offers a great Yelp perk, and Pokemoto sure does! Check in on the app, and you'll get a free serving of their Pineapple Dole Whip! It tastes just like the kind you'd get in Disney world - fruity and luscious soft serve that'll make you yearn for a tropical vacay! Don't miss out on this when you visit! The service was excellent! Our "pokerista" (it's a thing) was friendly and outgoing, and offered awesome recommendations and even let us sample some of the sauces before we decided which one to go with. I really appreciated the extra level of hospitality! I can't wait to come back next time we pass through Middletown. read more

Checked this place out today. It was hidden in the "mall" area downtown Middletown. At first I was really apprehensive with ordering from here. But I have it a shot and it was good. The service I received was good the food was fresh. I wouldn't give it 5 starts because I have had better Poke. I love the availability these poke bowls. I got the Hawaiian poke bowl but I gotta say their spicy sauce is way too spicy for me. It kind of ruined the bowl for me. I will just order a different sauce next time. I love the fresh and hard to find ingredients like hijiki and pickled daikon as an option.
