I bake a lot and enjoy making my own desserts but even my friends know that they can bring any cake from Red Ribbon when coming to impromptu potlucks. My son got me a mango cake for my birthday on Monday which I had to return the next day. We cut a couple of slices (about an hour after he got it) and we knew right away that the cake was old. When you have to scrape off icing from the plastic liner they put around it so you can put it back on the cake, it just shows that it's been there for a while. I don't care that the date says it's "best before" Thursday. And you offer me a replacement dated next Monday? We took a couple of bites and can really tell that it's nowhere close to being fresh and was too embarrassed to serve it to others. We ended up throwing away the two slices and went out for treats. To make matters worse, the "supervisor" was rude when I returned the next day. He had to call the manager for advice which he probably shouldn't have done in front of the customer if he can't mask his clear annoyance. Oh, I guess I failed to tell him that I can actually understand the language, SIR! The gal who was at the front was nice and polite but had to get him, but he clearly does not have authorization or the know-how on how to keep a customer happy. A process that would take a 5-minute exchange elsewhere took a lot longer than expected. I did end up getting a replacement but opted for a different cake. And to think that I went in there with intentions of buying treats for the office next day, but was so disappointed with that interaction and decided to take my business elsewhere. I still like RR's products (as long as I get them fresh), but would gladly go out of my way and go to another location just so I never have to deal with this "supervisor". My son goes there quite often, too and it's funny that my he was able to describe him to a T and had the same opinion. The extra star was for the replacement cake that turned out to be a much better choice.

They have great customer service and a user friendly on line ordering system. Their drivers are friendly and I love that I can pick my delivery time. When I need products for special events I know that I can count on Palo Alto Egg to suggest quality products at a competitive price. I have to admit, I went back several times to try this dish. The business card that I picked up didn't tell me what their business model was... catering? restaurant? what?! So, I looked up their website and found out that they sell pre-cooked packaged food and ship it to your home. All you do is microwave the food in a bag. Wow! That's actually interesting. This concept got my noggin thinking... In late March, I'll be staying home for several weeks and won't be able to do my usual restaurant hops and check-in's. I'm pretty sure I'll be requiring their service by then. Plus, that kung pao chicken is calling my name again... For now, I'll keep them bookmarked and will be in contact with them for some delicious vegan food.

I've had the pleasure of trying the dinner and breakfast package and everything has been great! Some of the complaints I read were that they were full of salt. The nutrition information is on each package and I haven't seen any meal with more than 400mg of sodium. I'm super sensitive to salt too and my fingers swell up if I eat too much of it. In addition to the low salt there is low sugar, healthy ingredients and it tastes great! I haven't tried all my meals yet but so far I haven't had anything that isn't delicious! I've tried other meal services and the vegetarian options are always carb heavy- not with Vegan Garden! They offer some carbs coupled with a lot of veggies! And the calorie count is so reasonable! I don't feel guilty eating the meal when it's around 200 calories whereas other services are around 500 per serving. My only feedback is that the paper that the muffins are baked in is very thin which makes the muffins tricky to get out of the paper without some paper sticking to the muffin. You will eat some paper. I'm very glad that I gave them a ty despite reading the reviews and being very wary. In terms of delivery everything came as described and on time! Not a single complaint with the delivery process! They email you telling you it's on it's way so you know exactly when to expect everything! It may sound like I work for them but I don't! I'm just a happy customer who stumbled across the company on Groupon and I am so glad that I did!! Almost forgot that so far every meal I have eaten is in My Fitness Pal!! Makes it so easy! They're family-operated and have been serving the bay for a long time. Dorothy helped us get our account up and running the same day. She generously gave us samples of their products and followed up when our credit was approved. They deliver to SF twice a week and also allow for pick-ups. They're so responsive and lovely to work with!

Doing an updated review on Mr. Mikey's country store in Niles. Stopped in today because I was in…read moretown for the car show. After walking around for a while, the cars lost their appeal and I could only think about getting a sandwich from the deli. I had to get in there and get me a turkey and avocado. The store was very busy. There was a lot of people in Niles for the car show, but I noticed, even though the place was packed, the store was beautifully faced all the products had the labels out, and everything was very clean. My sandwich was delicious as always, and the family was as sweet as could be. This could be my favorite sandwich spot in the area.
