I have been coming to this location since they opened and has... correction.. HAD been my go to spot for last-minute cakes, snacks, and chicken empanadas. I bake a lot and enjoy making my own desserts but even my friends know that they can bring any cake from Red Ribbon when coming to impromptu potlucks. My son got me a mango cake for my birthday on Monday which I had to return the next day. We cut a couple of slices (about an hour after he got it) and we knew right away that the cake was old. When you have to scrape off icing from the plastic liner they put around it so you can put it back on the cake, it just shows that it's been there for a while. I don't care that the date says it's "best before" Thursday. And you offer me a replacement dated next Monday? We took a couple of bites and can really tell that it's nowhere close to being fresh and was too embarrassed to serve it to others. We ended up throwing away the two slices and went out for treats. To make matters worse, the "supervisor" was rude when I returned the next day. He had to call the manager for advice which he probably shouldn't have done in front of the customer if he can't mask his clear annoyance. Oh, I guess I failed to tell him that I can actually understand the language, SIR! The gal who was at the front was nice and polite but had to get him, but he clearly does not have authorization or the know-how on how to keep a customer happy. A process that would take a 5-minute exchange elsewhere took a lot longer than expected. I did end up getting a replacement but opted for a different cake. And to think that I went in there with intentions of buying treats for the office next day, but was so disappointed with that interaction and decided to take my business elsewhere. I still like RR's products (as long as I get them fresh), but would gladly go out of my way and go to another location just so I never have to deal with this "supervisor". My son goes there quite often, too and it's funny that my he was able to describe him to a T and had the same opinion. The extra star was for the replacement cake that turned out to be a much better choice. read more

Red Ribbon cakes are light and simple, not so overly sweet. They use real icing and not all those inedible cake decor like fondant. My personal favorites are the Mango Supreme, Mocha, Classic Chocolate. They also give you 2 candles and a Happy Birthday topper if requested. I believe they have cakes 20% off that change weekly. Their ensaymadas are also very light and fluffy. They are great to share with friends/family. I also get my halo-halo fix from here. They currently sell for $6.99, which I don't think is so bad. I have been coming here to this location for 4 years and I'm really sad that they took out and discontinued the mocha chocolate cake because that was the best cake they had besides the mango cake! I decided to try out their flan ube cake and I was disappointed of the taste and texture of the cake! My family didn't like it too..they said the flan ube cake was dry and for me it wasn't sweet enough and has no flan flavor..now when I buy any cake here at red ribbon shop I will only get the mango cake which only lasts 4-5 days and then the cake goes bad and that is why I liked the chocolate mocha cake because it lasts a long while! They have delicious sliced cake...Mango Supreme, Black Forest and Ube Overload just to name a few. I didn't get any of those during this visit. I've been craving Halo Halo, so I decided to get one. Loved it! Great price for a sweet shaved ice treat with mango topping, swwetened beans and lychee. My order was ready pretty quickly and the staff was friendly. At the last minute I grabbed an Ube Mamon (about $2.50), which is chiffon with ube with a strong kick of coconut at the end of each bite. Here's What I Think... Sure there is the grocery next door and a lot of other Filipino places, but Red Ribbon captures it very well. The workers are very polite and expedient. The wasteful plastic packaging is so classic. The meal options and the baked goods... I like to pop in for halo halo or for coffee. There are a few tables you can sit at and there is more space in the bakery compared to Valerio, but less options. you can order cake I believe and they do have mango cake. read more

I came here yesterday and was interested in buying a birthday cake for a co-worker. The birthday is in March and I was interested in the Ube Flan. I ordered a slice of Ube Flan for $5 and brought it back to work to get the birthday girl's opinion of it along with my 2 other co-workers. We were so excited that I forgot to take a photo of it, but I will include a copy of my receipt for proof. The flan was dry and the Ube part of the cake was bland. The whole entire thing was tasteless and very crumbly. I don't think they use Ube anything in this but just food coloring. This was so disappointing! Their cakes look so beautifully done and I really want to try it but will definitely not order the Ube Flan. That $5 slice was pricey for something so tasteless. Nobody at work liked it at all. How embarrassing as none of my office colleagues are Filipino and I was trying to give them a taste of Filipino cuisine and what Ube tastes like. That cake was a horrible example. read more

My coworker bought an ube flan cake and it was so delicious that I had to get it for my parents' birthday. I don't like ube and I don't like flan but I really liked it from red ribbon! I ended up buying a slice of that to share with my family at midnight, they also enjoyed it and said it wasn't overly sweet. I also got the whole sampler cake to celebrate for that evening's dinner. Everyone thought it was a great idea and it was a even split for everyone voting the best cake: mocha , mango, ube and black forest. First you don't feel welcome and they can't really explain one of the new roll cake's favor. The most important its they give me the wrong cake. I ask for the chocolate and they give me the mocha. Red Ribbon is a familiar name for many Filipinos and is a huge bakery chain in the Philippines, but with the number of franchises that Red Ribbon has and the more commercial it becomes, the lower in quality their products become. I cannot differentiate the Red Ribbon in this location and the Red Ribbon where I'm back from in NJ. Many Filipinos like myself feel a sense of warmth in a place like Red Ribbon because it reminds them of fond memories of time back in the homeland, which is why my mom absolutely loves Red Ribbon. As for me, this place is all right. Red Ribbon sets the standard of what a Filipino bakery has to offer but doesn't have the Tita/Tito's touch to it that mom-and-pop Filipino bakeries have. With that said, my partner and I tried their ~famous~ chicken empanadas (I was underimpressed) and their Sans Reval cake which was a lot less sweet than I expected (it was still good tho!). I would recommend first going to a local Filipino bakery before trying Red Ribbon out. read more

So far so delicious! We've purchased two different cakes and both cakes were worth every penny. First cake we decided to try was their Ube cake. The cake was not at all dry. Perfect moisture with the perfect amount of sweetness. Second cake was the choco mocha crunch cake. I'm a huge fan of Ube but this cake tops the Ube cake they have. My husband and I found it a bit upsetting when we got the cake. Rather than putting the crunch on the cake after ordering it, they put it in a small bag for us to do it ourselves. We found it weird because they did have some of the crunch in the middle layers. I did appreciate the texture of the crunch. Nothing too hard and you can tell it was not stale. The creamy middle layers of both cakes make it so delicious and makes you want more than a huge slice. Each bite makes you want more! Aside from the delicious taste. This location is based in a super busy plaza. There are plenty of parking spaces but the plaza can get really busy so be very careful due to some of the crazy drivers and high foot traffic. This place is definitely worth the try. And I'm planning to try their mango cake next. Once I try it, I'll update my review. So far we are happy and highly recommend this place for their desserts. read more
