Their prices went up and the quality has gone down. The rice were a bit hard when we ordered take out on Sunday around 7pm. We ordered a 40 piece platter and it came to $33.90 after tax. It was enough for two people. They don't do 10% off cash unless you purchase their VIP card. It was a very average experience and I will probably try another place next time.
Ordered the 60 pc. platter. It had a good variety of pieces, however, at 60 pieces, it would be about 4-5 people eating it and they only give 2 pieces of each type of sushi. This means there will be several people not getting certain options, which was the case with us. The taste, size and quality are okay. Nothing exceptional. The price is good for these days. This place is fine if you just want sushi at a good price.
Our go to sushi takeout place for simple traditional sushi. This place is located at a food court between a hotel and some offices. Fast and fresh. Good variety of sashimi, sushi, and rolls. I like how they offer the sweet shrimp sashimi which is usually an extra cost at most sushi restaurants. Sashimi is a thick cut, good proportion of fish to rice for the nigiri and maki. Very friendly service.
My god this place is cheap for sushi platter takeouts. They seem to be open even during holidays (New Years and Christmas) We ordered a $60 assorted sushi and sashimi platter. The portions were big and fresh but we did find scales on the fish, so be careful when eating. We also didn't have any shrimp tempura rolls nor unagai is common in larger platters. There were however, three large sweet shrimps, fatty tuna, and other high end fishes. If you want party platters that is cheap, fresh and fast go here!
First time trying them. They are situated in the side of the food court at Parkway Mall. The food quality is fresh and portions are decent. They are definitely on par (if not better) than many of the other popular take out "go to" Japanese places around Richmond Hill (I will not name names). Consider them more of a take out place since seating is "food court" seating without service. I think they have some "eat in" stuff but I'm considering them a "take out" place. You should definitely give them a try. We will for sure come back!
YuSushi is hidden in a not-so-visible corner at a small shopping mall inside of the Sheraton/Richmond Hill municipal building. I lived in Richmond hill for more than a decade, yet I know about the existence of this shopping mall. After exploring around the building, I found YuSushi. The store doesn't stand out in any way; however, their food and the menu caught my eyes. First and foremost, their hokkaido don, which consists of 3-4 salmon sashimi, one scallop sashimi, 3 Botan Shrimps, 1-2 Uni and salmon roe. It's unreal for a sushi store at a Food court to have Botan sashimi shrimps and uni available for its customers, not to mention that the price is extremely reasonable (14.99 CAD). On top of that, the salmon sashimi are extremely fresh - much fresher than anything you can get in the sushi stores around YuSushi's price range. I am totally awed by this YuSushi's quality and price for the food it offers - I even drive from downtown to here sometimes just for its Hokkaido Don.

I was in this food court because we were waiting for my sister's class to finish up. By this time though, I was starving and looking for something to fill my stomach briefly before I was going to head to dinner with my family. I happened to stumble upon YuSushi Takeaway which I had read about many times on Yelp before! I remember reading about how people said the quality of fish you get at this place is extremely good for the price you pay so I decided I'd give it a try. [Albacore Tuna Sushi] $3.75 - I mean, it's literally two pieces of tuna sushi. I thought it was pretty good! Mind you, I was starving for some reason despite it only being around 5PM but I thought it was yummy. I think I'll be back to order platters at some point given that the limited sushi I had was very good. I believe I originally wanted hamachi sushi but they were out so I switched my order to tuna and I don't regret it. The cashier was very helpful at suggesting something else when what I wanted was sold out! I believe a main reason this place is still up and running in a relatively quiet food court is due to the quality of their food and the quality of their service! Give it a try if you're around :D
My other half and I were trying to find a new place to try and happened to come across YuSushi and were quite intrigued with all the good reviews so we decided to pay a visit. This place is located in the Shoppes of the Parkway - Connected and right beside Sheraton. This is not a full restaurant but actually located in the food court, and is a large food court stall. I know what you may be thinking, I was also skeptical as well to know that this was a food court stall, but based on the reviews and the pricing we decided to give it a shot. This same food court also has a number of other well reviewed establishments such as Bento Boy and Thai 5 cafe to name a few. Whenever I try a new sushi place I always make sure to put in an order for Uni sushi. Uni is an acquired taste, and it is honestly very hard to find a place that serves it fresh and tasty. I have been to Japan twice, and I found only a handful of restaurants in Toronto that offer Uni as fresh as in Japan. Also Uni has a much shorter shelf life then, lets say salmon, hence a lot of "lower" end sushi places dont offer uni. So I was quite surprised to see a food court stall of all places offer Uni. I was expecting the uni to come out dark colored and sort of mushy (what I usually see in T&T), but if this place could pass the uni test, then it most definitely will make me a regular. We also ordered a 40 piece sushi/sashimi/roll combo for $30. To give some perspective, my other half and I are regulars at another full sit down sushi restaurant, and a 40 piece platter there costs $53 + tax + tip which works out to close to $60. So YuSushi definitely has value, its pretty black and white there. But how was the taste? I am happy to say that YuSushi was quite impressive! I would actually dare say that the sushi here can most definitely pass for sushi served at a full sit down restaurant, but for nearly half the price. I wouldnt go so far to say that this was the best sushi I have ever had, nor would this place come to mind as a recommendation for a night out given the fact that it is in a food court. But if you have a place to sit down and eat, or dont mind going home to eat this then this place is absolutely worth the trip dollar for dollar. Also to note, when ever my other half and I go out to eat sushi and get a sushi platter we nearly always request NO WHITE TUNA - The reason being is because "white tuna" is not really tuna, but another fish called Escolar - Which in large quantities can cause indigestion. If your not aware of Escolar, I urge you to read up on it through Google. When we mentioned this request, our order taker mentioned that they actually do not serve white tuna but albacore tuna - The real tuna! This in itself earns this place a star. Our platter included for sashimi - salmon, surf clam, lightly torched albacore tuna and another fish I cant recall at the moment. There was also 3 different types of rolls, and a large number and variety of sushi pieces which included red tuna. Pretty impressive for a food court sushi stall! To also note though, since this is in a food court we did see a number of people just sitting down here and eating there. Also parking was very very easy to find here. Also from the moment we placed our order to getting it took probably no more then 10 to 15 minutes. Speed, good price, good taste - Pretty tough to find any fault here! All in all, this place is a really great deal. If your staying in, or want to impress a date with a romantic candle light dinner at home then I would absolutely recommend you come and get a take out order here.

I wish I could give zero stars but the lowest was a one star. I have to say yea though it looks like every other takeout place in terms of layout. The sushi isn't fresh, a few pieces of sushi had fish gills in them. The sushi wasn't very cold and if you look at the shrimp it's pretty grey when you eat into it it reeked of fish smells . The seaweed was soggy and the worst is we called 1.5 hours to order takeout and had to wait 30mins more when I went to pick up. Highly don't recommend unless you are on a tight budget.
I used to go to ai sushi every weekend but after finding hair in my food I'm trying to find another sushi location. Unfortunately it won't be Yu sushi. The sashimi is really not fresh. We are people who hate wasting food but we had no choice but to throw away half the platter. On top of that, I also saw the sushi chefs not properly wear their masks, not acceptable.
Ever since I found this place a couple years ago, it has been my go to sushi spot. Fish is fresh and quality is consistent. I especially like their salmon sashimi as it is so thick and fatty! Prices are very reasonable and they don't even cheap out on soy, wasabi and ginger. They are polite and there's never a long wait regardless if you order in person or in advance by phone. Definitely recommended!

4.5/5 Stopped by for a quick lunch and was impressed with how quickly the food came out (about five minutes). The sushi itself was fresh and tasty, and the service was kind and attentive. They also offer a cash discount. There's not much to say about the ambiance, since it's located in a food court, but seating was always available. Overall, a solid place for fresh sushi at a good value. read more

My sister and her family came over to chill and we decided to get sushi for dinner. Never had Yusushi before so we decided to give it a try. They had a good deal for 80pc assorted party tray, so we ordered that. At first glance it looked really yummy and good. The sashimi was nice, not too thick and not too thin. The raw shrimps were big and pretty fresh to my surprise. The rolls had the smallest pieces of salmon inside, I found that very underwhelming and the nigiri were okay, nothing special about them. Don't think I'll come back since there are better and newer sushi places in Markham area. read more

Its our first time truing YuSushi! We got the 80pcs Sushi platter. It cames with variety of fish: tuna, white tuna, and red snapper. But we request to only use Salmon, as we preferred that way. I must say, they served the THICKEST SASHIMI CUT by far! We had tried several sushi platter, and this is the thickest! Love it! 80 pcs for $58 (tax included) is cheap! Heard raving reviews about this hidden gem and just had to go check it out myself. YuSushi is located in the food court that connects to Sheraton hotel on Highway 7 and East Beaver Creek. Honestly, I probably would have never purposely come here if it wasn't for other foodies telling me about this place. For a good and reasonable price you can get a lot of good sushi, their combos range from a la carte to small combos and to large sushi platters. Their sashimi is super fresh and they do not cheap out on their portions! This is probably going to be my new sushi takeout go-to. You definitely need to come see for yourself! The sushi here really is that good and for such a good deal too. The only thing about this pLace is the location and parking as it took me a long time to find parking and I was about to give up and come back another time. Both the underground parking and the outdoor parking were completely full on a Wednesday afternoon (I went at around 2pm expecting it to be empty). read more

Take out mall sushi: I was a little bit sceptical at first but I found it to be quite good actually! It took about 5-10 minutes for our order. I had one of the daily specials, it was a great value and it satisfied my hunger. I don't know if I'd ever be around that mall again, but this place is definitely good. read more
YuSushi is located in a mall food court. According to their website, they pride themselves in providing authentic and fresh sushi. Credulously, I decided to give them a shot. The menu is extensive and offers many options but the value of chirashis/donburis caught my attention so I ultimately ordered the Hokkaidon (salmon, scallops, salmon roe, botan shrimps, uni/sea urchin on rice). It was 14.99$ and took about 5 minutes to prepare. Service was swift and no frills. I was impressed at the freshness of the food given the price. The presentation was also great. Overall, I highly recommend this food court take out counter. read more
I always say location has EVERYTHING to do with how often we go. Yusushi is located beside Sheraton hotel on Highway 7 and Leslie. The younger lady working their is extremely friendly and pretty much remembers you after two or three visits. Their chefs work quietly behind their sushi counter once they hear what you've ordered. Since it is located in a food court, seats are on a first come first serve basis. From what I remember, nothing on their menu is over $20 (including their Deluxe Chirashi Don). I don't suggest their maki or party trays - there's something lacking in it. I'm not sure what it is, but not something I recommend. My favorite thing to order here is their Hokkaido Don - prawn, ikura, uni, salmon, scallop, and a bit of caviar. Their rice may not be the best, but their sashimi that comes with it, definitely on point! Their Deluxe chirashi don contains prawn, salmon, hamachi, uni, scallop, caviar, tuna, and toro. In terms of variety, the Deluxe one would be the one to get, but if you're anything like me, I'll pick the Hokkaido one - just because those are my favorite sashimi! read more
Good price. Not so good quality. My boyfriend and I excitedly ordered the medium sized assorted sushi, sashimi, and maki platter (40 pieces for $30) for dinner last week, hoping we had found a new hidden gem for sushi.. but we were fairly disappointed. The maki rolls were fine but the sashimi wasn't fresh. It had a fishy odour to it and the texture was mushy (the underside of the surf clam was browning and the ??? fish that was seared at the edges tasted like it had gone bad). Nowadays with all the food safety concerns around raw fish and their potentially harmful bacteria/viruses, I think I'd rather pay a few more dollars for better quality sashimi that I can trust and eat without worrying. read more
Quality is so-so, but price is cheap so can't complain. Quite a wait for pickup as it is quite busy. Concern with the freshness and contamination as when I went to pick up, all orders are left in room temperature for pickup. While they are preparing about 5-6 party trays at the same time, the food was left uncovered. It was quite an open space as it is located in the foodcourt. I would be careful when it comes to raw seafood. However, none of us had any issue after that meal, so I guess it's fine...? read more

Stopped by to check this place out due to the recent hype. It is located in the food court of "Shoppes on Parkway". This is a take-out sushi restaurant with plenty of seats in the seldomly-busy food court. We ordered a 40-piece assorted platter which was only $33 with tax included (for those that aren't familiar with the average cost of sushi in Toronto, this is a very reasonable price, which would explain the hype). However, paying the bill was ironically the best experience of my visit because that's where it started going downhill... We waited for approximately 15 minutes and noticed that a few people had picked up their food even though they arrived after us. We figured that they probably made an order by phone, which is fair game. 5 minutes later, the cashier asked me and another group what our orders were. I thought to myself, "the receipt with my name and order is right behind you...", but whatever, there's no harm in re-confirming. Another 10 minute passes as I watched a few more groups pick up their orders while I stood there patiently. Once again, the cashier asked the other group and myself what our orders were... At this point, I started to get impatient. It's been 30 minutes since I placed my order and she was still asking me what my order was. I finally got my order after another 5 minutes. Presentation and the quality of the rolls were actually quite decent, but the sashimi (with the exception of the salmon) was definitely not fresh and a bit on the warm side. However, I felt that it was still a great deal for the price. Up to this point, I was still planning to give a 3-star due to its great price and above-average rolls. It was not until I spent about 20 minutes on the toilet with an upset stomach after my meal that I decided to drop another star. Overall, I would recommend that you spend a few extra dollars for higher quality sushi elsewhere. You'll be grateful for the time and toilet paper saved! If you still decide to check this place out, make sure you call and make a phone order and take a nap before showing up. read more

This place is in the food court of a small plaza that's connected to Sheraton. It's usually pretty quiet in there with the small number of shops. We ordered ahead of time, because of the reviews on here, i didn't want to order and sit there waiting for 15 minutes. It was ready by the time we got there, and there was nobody waiting in line. So I think they have gotten better at getting orders prepared faster. We got the sashimi, sushi and roll combo to try a bit of each. I think it was $30.00 plus tax (AM02). The rolls were pretty good, nice balance with the sauces, and not too much rice/little toppings. The sashimi were pretty fresh also. Maybe next time we will try their specialty rolls. They have a lot of different rolls that are decent in price! Can't wait to come and try again! We got it to go, so we brought it home. There's a couple of tables there if you would like to eat in. read more

Tried YuSushi for the first time, decent to say the least. You get a good amount of food for what you pay, but the quality wasn't memorable. YuSushi is worth a try if you aren't too picky about the quality of fish and/or need your craving satisfied for a good price. read more
Located inside the Shoppes of the Parkway (Sheraton Parkway plaza food court next to The Host indian cuisine). We ordered the AM03 $30 with 60 Pieces assorted, can't go wrong since we can try a bit of everything! Fish was fresh!fresh! At least they weren't served warm like some other takeout places, so the fish was still nice and firm(and cold) after we picked up our order. This place definitely does not cheap out, less rice, more fish, which is what all customers want! This will be my go-to place for sushi party trays since their prices are very reasonable and good quality fish. read more

Decent takeout sushi trays but I prefer Ai Sushi because they have the Botan Ebi and in general seems to have fresher fish. YuSushi is slightly cheaper though and the quality isn't really too different between the two places. Wait times are usually 30 mins or so from the time you place the order, which is fairly quick. read more
Cheap sushi roll platters for takeout! LOCATION/DECOR: 3/5 I've passed by this plaza all my life and I work 3 minutes away and this is my first time entering this building. It's really a hole in the wall even for local I guess. It's located in a food court with several other restaurants and some seats. Meh. FOOD: 5/5 The value is definitely there. There aren't many great takeout sushi roll options in this area (eg. Sushi bong in North York), so this is the closest I'll probably get. We got the $25 for 40 rolls and it was pretty worth it! Like others mentioned, pretty much each roll has some sort of raw fish, and they're very generous with the portions too. I also agree with other comments saying that their main dislike is the taste of the rice. It definitely is a bit bland for sushi rice and doesn't compliment the raw fish as well as it could. Clearly it's not a huge deal because I'm still coming back. SERVICE: 4/5 It's a takeout restaurant so there isn't much service involved. You call in and order ahead of time (approx 30 mins for a platter) or sit and wait if you don't. There is tax on the prices and it's cash only. Their main competition is probably AI sushi which is out of the way for me. If I suddenly get a sushi craving and want a cheap fill, I'd prefer to go to Yu sushi instead. read more
Reason for Visit: Seeing if the quality for one of my favourite sushi take out places went downhill. Menu: One of the better prices and legit sushi take out places in GTA. The other one being Ai Sushi. That being said, I did notice Ai Sushi's quality went slightly below but that might just be a one time thing as it is a lot busier than Yu Sushi. Got their 40 assorted pieces for $30 as usual. Things are fresh and tasty as always. So pretty good value for your money. But definitely if you have a few more friends, get their 100 pieces tray for best value. Service: Almost non existent. Pour your own tea and grab your own utensils. It is a food court sushi take out place. Atmosphere: Food court is clean. Not a bad place to eat. Overall: Prices are same as Ai Sushi except Ai Sushi does have 10% discount cards and a lot more traffic. I am actually a bit worried Yu Sushi might go out of business soon as there was barely any traffic when I went on the weekend. read more

I came across this place and have been back quite a few times since. This spot is hidden yet convenient--right at the corner of Hwy 7 and East Beaver Creek in Richmond Hill. What's even better is that it's right at the corner of my work place. Prices are amazing and the quality is excellent. Please note that each pic was taken on a different day...yes, I love my California Rolls :p ...that tells you how much I love this place Salmon carpaccio is very yummy Uni (Sea Urchin) - very fresh Sushi platters are excellent--fresh, tasty, the rice is just right :) 4.5/5 stars-I'd for sure give it a 5/5 star but don't want to be biased read more
If you are looking for decent sushi on the cheap, this place is a good place to fend off your sushi craving. This place gets busy, so I suggest that you call ahead of time for your order. We ordered a 60pcs tray with assorted sashimi, rolls, and sushi for $40 plus tax. It came with assorted sushi (salmon, red tuna, tilapia, some pink fish, shrimp and crab), assorted sashimi (salmon, red tuna, tilapia, surf clam, raw shrimp (large) and another white fish and pink fish), and rolls (california, spicy tuna, avocado and salmon, and a spicy roll that included salmon, crab, avocado and cucumber). We ordered 60pcs for two people and finished the tray. (I don't know how that happened). Maybe we were super hungry! The pros is that the sushi taste good and the quality is def there and the price is right. The cons is the fact that sometimes if you want more assortment in your rolls this place doesn't include them in the party trays. You will need to order individually. read more

Great prices on delicious sushi! Ordered a 80 piece roll tray which came up to just under $51 after tax - very reasonable! The tray had great variety and not overly filled with rice. The fish was very fresh. The reason why I'm knocking it down a star was because when I asked to pay with credit (since the machine was right in front of me) the lady behind the counter was like oh no. We only take cash because the prices are already so cheap. I would have understood if there was a discount with cash payment but I was still being charged regular price plus tax when paying with cash. Despite the fact, I would like to go back and try the chirashi don! Looks so good! read more
