I've been in massive pain for for over three weeks. I explained that when I talked to Angelica the first time when they were closed from Corona. When they opened back up, I made an appointment. The morning of my appointment I had a migraine and called to see if they could take me later that day. She said no and offered me an appointment two days later. I accepted but also asked if they took walk in appointments. She said no. I'm here at my appointment and what do I see plastered on the window? WALK INS WELCOME ok, so I fill out my paperwork turn it in. A guy walks in with an appointment 2 hours after mine and gets seen first. I'm sitting there in agony, have been for weeks, and ask why? Why does he get to go before me? Because I have to enter your paperwork...the chiropractor comes out and says "legally I can't treat you until the paperwork is entered into the system." I'm paying cash, there's no insurance information, no legal information, no disability or workers Comp info. I called bullshit and walked out. These people don't care about what type of pain you're in, the chiropractor couldn't care less about healing your pain, he was fine letting me sit in pain in his waiting room using paperwork as the excuse. To answer any doubts about the other appointment he was alert, spry and obviously NOT in serious need. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE, if you are looking for a place that actually cares about your wellbeing. Cold, heartless, rude, lifeless. The motto plastered on the wall reads "your body will thank us." How arrogant do you need to be...I should've walked out right then. My body is thanking ME for the decisions I make regarding wellness, not anyone else. Can you say megalomaniac? You opened up an appointment to accommodate me for having a migraine? Opened up an appointment? She gave me the next available appointment you had...TWO DAYS LATER. Accommodating me would've been giving me a later appointment the same day understanding that migraines and driving 35 mins don't go well together. For you to say I would've been seen in 5 mins....you had just brought the other patient back...am I to assume his appointment would only last 5 mins? No you obviously don't understand being in pain, there was no misunderstanding, you left me in the waiting room and took another patient even though I had signed all necessary legal consents. I disagree that the paperwork has to be entered, I believe chiropractors make an exception when a patient is in need as long as the waivers are signed...at least that's been my experience with many other chiropractors, I have been dealing with spinal pain for more than 20 years. I'm new to this area but I'm likely to drive three hours to visit my old chiropractor that actually earned her degree and knows how to fix my pain. read more

Dr. Kalay was personable, funny, and very professional. I went in for an adjustment as I am pregnant with surrogate twins. I hadn't had an adjustment since I was a kid, so he talked me through everything he was going to do and announced any time he was going to touch me. I love that he said "I'd never do anything to you that I wouldn't have done to my wife when she was pregnant with our baby". He treats his customers with the utmost care and respect. Crack... crack... and voila! What a relief! (Maybe that was a little too much or no?) haha! My husband's been to the chiropractor before but I generally try avoiding it all together, let's say I'm a little scared, for no apparent reason. Today, my husband woke up with sharp pain in between his shoulders and called the chiropractor's office. Thankfully, Dr. Gurj Kalay takes walk-ins and new patients and we were in his office right after lunch, (first star granted for convenience). As we walked in, the office was new and clean and that extra touch of background music.. really set the mood, a little classic 70's never hurt nobody, (second star granted for atmosphere/ambience). We were greeted by Dr. Kalay and filled out some paperwork and as soon as we were done, we were right in the back patient room. Dr. Kalay got right to the point and explained thoroughly about what he was about to do and what is going to happen (third star granted for being diligent). He first started off with the massage machine, to loosen up the back muscles. So far a charming doctor, and his bed side manner was great. Believe it or not, we were having some laughs throughout the whole treatment and we didn't even notice how fast he adjusted my husbands back. When Dr. Kalay asked my husband how he feels, he said " so much better, but still a little discomfort". This is where I wanted to see if the doctor listens to his patients needs, and we weren't feeling rushed. He massaged my husbands back where there was pain and kept asking him questions about his discomfort, while going back to massage the areas until there was improvement. As soon my husband started to feel a lot better, doctor took us to another room where he used this muscle stimulator machine (with those sticky things that send electrical impulses.. not sure what it's called but fourth star granted for being attentive and exceeding patients needs). The husband relaxed for 10 minutes with the machine on and I'm glad I got to witness the whole procedure. Honestly, I felt so comfortable, that I got the courage to mention my sciatica pain to Dr. Kalay. He told me he's willing to help me by, showing me some stretches I can do on my own time and he can adjust my back too.. like TODAY! My heart rate sky rocketed but I know what it's all about.. I'm a champ, I got this! Crack.. crack.. ta-daaaa!!! Seriously, it felt great.. why didn't I ever come here sooner! I've made a decision, I'm considering to come back, not only for the laughs but for the relief and great patient care we got! For about 6 months I had suffered from chronic neck pain. I had just considered it "sleeping wrong" or blame it on my pillow. Even after trying different pillows nothing seemed to work. Finally I gave in and decided to see Dr. Kalay. One of the best decisions I could have ever made. Not only did my neck pain go away after my first visit, but also back pain that seemed to arise from sitting at work also felt much better. I experienced Sciatica down my left leg which had to be the worst pain I have ever felt. This kept up no matter what exercises used to relieve this pain, it persisted, so I found Dr. Kalay here in Yuba City. The first visit went OK and about 50% of the pain subsided, so I went for a second adjustment and Great Balls of Fire! almost 99% of that pain was gone! I went in to be seen by Dr. Kalay after struggling for the past 11 months with severe shoulder, neck, rib, and back issues. Dr. Kalay listened attentively to my issues and very quickly evaluated and diagnosed what might be causing my pain. After discussing the findings of my previous mri's. X-rays, and previous treatment (physical therapy and orthopedic), he was able to further educate me on what would likely be the cause of my ongoing pain. Within minutes thereafter, he identified problem areas and recommended the appropriate treatment, part of which he was able to complete during the visit. He advised me what to expect and assured me that he would proceed according to my acceptable level of pain tolerance. After he treated me, he suggested a follow up plan that would coordinate simultaneously with my physical therapy treatment. I was very pleased with Dr. Kalay's knowledge, professionalism, timeliness to see/treat me, and his overall genuine concern and desire to treat and heal. During the visit he recommended specific exercises, which amazingly I received via email within minutes of my departure. I was amazed that I received it so quickly, as he had a large number of patients waiting to be seen. This also is a testament to his large following of satisfied patients. I first heard of Yuba Sutter Chiropractic through a friend and was hesitate to come in because I hadn't ever gone to a Chiropractor before. I'm so glad I came in because Dr.Kalay helped feel me at ease and explained everything in detail before he started to treat me.
