UPDATE ...... 2/15 Yucaipa Bike Center rocked it and took care of business. I took the bike into the shop and showed them the issues. The immediately apologized and showed legitimate concern and offered take care of the bike and get it back to me as quick as possible. I expected 2-3 days but they reached out to me the next day saying the bike was ready to be picked up. They even offered to extend the service period to 2 years for the inconvenience. Also, the helmet that I got ended up on back order with no expected ship date, so they went to another shop and got one. I have gotten a few rides in now and the bike is working and riding great. Now the rider just needs to get as good as the bike. It is easy to right bad reviews and forget about them. But let me say this, yes, I was very upset and frustrated but Yucaipa Bike Center made it right without excuses and that is the kind of place I want to do business with. Thank You to Yucaipa Bike Center and I look forward to doing business with you for a long time to come. I purchased a new Marlin 6 tonight. Super excited till I got home. I found that the new bike has two rims that are both untrue and the front brake rotor is rubbing. I put the deposit down on Sunday and was told it would be in Tuesday or Wednesday. We will call you as soon as we get it in. I had to call to see if it was in yet. So far not happy with Trek Bikes or Yucaipa Bike Center. Why would you let a bike leave your shop without making sure it was ready and right? I'm seriously considering getting my money back and doing business elsewhere. I took my sons bmx bike wheel in because he broke a spoke nipple before the races on Sunday. Dale advised he was busy working on another customers bike, so I asked if he could sell me the spoke nipple and I would try to fix it myself so my lil guy could race his bike. Dale took the wheel from me with a smile and replaced the spoke nipple, plus trued the rim in 10 mins. My lil guys was so happy Dale fixed his bike so he could race and win. I wanted to take a moment to update my review. I did have problems with one of the 2 new bikes we purchased. And I had commented with a 1 star review and my grievance. However I change my review solely on the basis that this bike shop sent someone out to my home 40 miles away to bring me a brand new bike that was assembled with a few accessories that I had purchased and they made sure it was good to go before they took the other bike away. It was possible my first bike had some defects as when torqued to factory specs the seat and the handle bars didn't hold. Meanwhile the customer care and service here is excellent and you are in good hands here. I do highly recommend this place. read more

Terrible service. They had my bike since 6/14 for a tune-up and did nothing. They called and left a message that they were going to either trash my bike or donate it. Went to the bike center in person and they admitted they called the wrong person. They have no idea what bike they are working on! They said they called me to say they couldn't work on my bike. It would be too costly. They never called. I went in person on June 25th and they said they needed 1 more day to work on my bike. They have no idea what they are doing. Needless to say, I took my bike back and took it to a shop in Redlands who will be able to service my bike. No problem. Avoid this place unless you love drama and ineptitude. My adult friend (over 30yrs...) wanted to learn how to ride a bike, so I bought training wheels. Went to Yucaipa bike center to get them installed and Haley was a sweet heart. She gave amazing customer service. She didn't try to upsell us. She tried to install my training wheels onto my beach cruiser but it was too short and she gave us a recommendation for the appropriate size bike for my friend. You can tell she is a bike enthusiast!! To make a long story short we left the bike shop found a thrift shop store with a bike that matched my friends height but the tires were messed up. We went back to Haley and she was soo kind she put green goo and wha-la my friend had a bike that she can practice on. This place but most importantly the people are a gem!! Thank you Yucaipa bike Center for completing the bike tuneups on my wife and my Electra beach cruisers. Jason, Hunter gave the bikes a quick rundown. Replaced the bike grips. Both bikes three speed shifters work great. Still wish Electra put a chain tensioner on my hell billy model. Unfortunately they did not. Recently got back into biking and while I bought my first new bike in a long time from REI several months ago, I decided to keep it local this time and get my next bike through Yucaipa Bike Center. First bike is a hybrid, but I wanted a proper mtb to ride the trails in the IE, even if still kind of on the fence about purchasing a second bike so quickly. Dale was particularly helpful. Wound up going with the Trek Marlin 7. He got me dialed in on the fit. Was extremely helpful in answering my questions. They replied to me that we don't work on this kind of bike which is a bunch of bull and you just can't bring a bike in here and drop it off so he sent me to Cyclery USA they fix the bike in 10 minutes, so now I got a new bike shop. Last week I went go get a fuel ex5 mountain bike, when we got there I told chase I was on the Yucaipa mountain bike team and wanted the best bike for me, he explained to me perfectly why I shouldn't get it because of the weight. He then told me about a Trek Procaliber 9.5 which he said was a great bike and is a great bike, we later got it. Everyone there is incredibly kind there and have lots of patience explaining things. I'm a 67-year-old female, and I do easy rides for fun and exercise, but the guys at Yucaipa Bike Center treated me as if I were a serious cyclist. I'm grateful for not being condescended to as I have in other bike shops. Great place for buying a bike, bike repair or accessories with really great customer service. I was in recently to look at a hybrid bike. Chase spent an hour with me, discussing pros and cons of various models and sizes. I rode two different bikes (each time, Chase took the time to check the seat, inflate the tires, etc), but in the end, couldn't decide. It is the rare occasion that I feel compelled to publicly review a business. In this instance, the service at the Yucaipa Bike Center (YBC) was so superb that I would be doing other consumers a disservice if I did not share my experience. The fact of the matter is, you wouldn't be reading this right now if you weren't considering doing business with this shop, so hopefully this assists you in your decision. I have ridden bikes for many years, but never a road bike. I did as much research as I felt was necessary on my own and narrowed my choice down to two bikes; the Trek ALR 5 and the Cannondale CAAD12. I went to Cyclery USA, Don's and this shop. In the end, I went with Yucaipa and here's why: When making such a large investment on a bike, you want to feel comfortable with the shop selling you the bike. A couple of weeks ago, I went in the shop to have my hardtail mountain bike serviced with new brakes and tires (all done without a hitch). I casually looked at the road bikes and peppered the staff with questions. It was immediately apparent that both Dale and Bruce were veteran riders whose knowledge of cyclery and riding is unparalleled. I came in a few days later and Dale spent about an hour with me sizing me and ordering a bike in the proper size. He explained that I was under no obligation to purchase the bike if I decided I did not feel comfortable on it, but he wanted me to test drive the exact bike I thought I wanted to buy so the fit would be exact. The bike came in, Dale assembled it, and a few days later I came in to ride it. The bike felt great, but I was also wanted to make sure that it was fitting me well. Bruce spent at least another hour with me educating me on fit and riding, which made me feel even more comfortable purchasing this bike. With Bruce and Dale, I never felt like I was purchasing a bike from a salesman. It was like going into a store with a good friend who is very knowledgeable about the product you are contemplating buying and they only have your best interest in mind. I went and tested the CAAD one more time at Don's in Redlands to make my final decision on the two bikes. Both bikes felt superb. I have nothing negative to say about Don's, they too had wonderful staff and a quality product. However, in the end, I felt more comfortable on the Trek and I felt more comfortable with Bruce and Dale. When I went back into YBC, Dale spent over 3 hours dialing me into the bike, ensuring that the fit was perfect and that I was comfortable. Since clip in shoes/pedals were a new experience to me, he also made sure I was reasonably proficient before I departed. Most bike shops I spoke to have an additional fee to size and dial you into the bike. Dale did it incidental to purchasing the bike because sizing and fitting is as important as the bike you end up riding. The love both Bruce and Dale have for cyclery should be immediately palpable to anyone who speaks with them. Their passion and knowledge translated into some of the best customer service I have received for any good or service I have purchased. Thank you! J read more

In 1982 at the ripe old age of 14 I had saved up enough to buy a brand new candy apple red Schwinn Beach Cruiser from Redlands Schwinn (now Redlands Cyclery USA). Since that time I have bought a number of bikes from them. But, now we live in Yucaipa and have been going to Yucaipa Bike Center. These guys are very patient, friendly and helpful. I went in with a mountain bike shock and needed the bottom head tube guides (?) removed from it and put on my new rigid fork. I also needed a post to ISO disc brake adapter and a couple of stem spacers. The total sale for the parts was only about $16. Employee (or owner?) Mike did the fork-parts swap at no charge. That was nice. Plus He was very helpful and not condescending to my out of shape, bike neophyte self. I felt as if I was being treated just as I would had I been in there ready to drop a thousand bucks on a new bike; and not just the $16 I did spend. Some time later my wife and I took our daughter to pick up a new Electra Cruiser we had ordered without her knowledge. Her new bike was there on the sales floor and not knowing it was for her she was lusting after it, saying that she can't wait for either her birthday or Christmas. I kept her busy poking around the shop while my wife dealt with the money. The shop employees kept up the charade of us "just looking around" in front of our daughter while nonchalantly prepping her new bike and ringing up our purchases; new helmet to replace her aging princess helmet and a new basket for her old bike. When we finally finished up and were just getting ready to leave my wife and I sprung the surprise on our kid. After a moment of shock she started jumping up and down in sheer joy. All the shop guys were in the back watching and they beamed when they saw her reaction to her new bike.
