Great people working here. I took my grandson's BMX bike to get his Shadow chain fixed after I had struggled with it for way too long... Eddie quoted me $15 and put it right up in the rack while we waited. He ended up spending way longer than I'm sure he had expected to because a few other links were messed up. In the end, he fixed it and as he was taking the bike off the rack he saw the handlebars were a little loose. Without thinking twice he loosened up the goose neck, made a few adjustments and then tightened everything up. Then he took n the bike over to the air and made sure the tire pressures were right. I told him to charge me more than the $15 he quoted, but he refused. These guys and gals at AV bikes are great. They know what they're doing and treat you like a customer should be treated. They've earned my business and I will send anyone who asks for a good bike shop their way. read more

I am a disabled person who just needed a little help for my service Dog. I used to shop here and then my last visit changed that. The woman in the photo included was who helped me. All I needed was to exchange some inexpensive tubes for my service Dogs trailer. The were 20 dollars, they went flat after one use. When I originally purchased them, she sold me the wrong size, so I had to buy larger tires. They wrote me a receipt on the back of a piece of register paper, not sure why. I'm guessing that they were the crap tubes that they were just trying to get rid of. She explained, "they are thorn resistant, not thorn proof". That said, I just wanted better tubes for his trailer. I asked her if she would just credit me 20 towards purchasing a better inner tube product from there store, she said no ! I asked her if she was okay with losing a good customer over 20 dollars and stated that bad reviews can hurt a business. I have had jobs in my life, and reputation is everything !!! I didn't see what I was looking for on the showroom floor and when I walked over to one of the bikes in the "shop area," he nearly had a fit that I went into the "shop area" to show him. Like he thought I was going to break something. There is no chain, sign, notice on the floor telling customers where the showroom ends and the shop begins. I've been in the shop before, but I've never been treated so rude by a salesperson in my life. Been an Apple Valley resident for 45 years....even shopped your old location. You are the only shop open on Sunday. If I had options I'd have used them. You even overcharged me for the tire I bought. Not worth it to go back. Sorry. Stay away from this dishonest bike shop, took my scooter in there Paid a hundred and $125.00 for a back tube replacement, which I had to buy the tube and bring it into them. Still got charged a $125.00 dollars. Made a phone call to discuss the problem with a young man and sounded real cocky, And knew everything, said there was nothing he can do Because it was sitting for two weeks. (I have two scooters) because I rode it for 5 minutes and it went flat, I obviously ran over something again. What are the odds right? If you're looking for an honest bike shop to do work.This is not the place!! I had planned to give them multiple business opportunities with all my bikes and scooters, but due to the rudeness and pure out craziness of not honoring the work that they do,I just cannot be a customer anymore. Unfortunately my bikes gear hub broke and so I had to get it fixed as I don't know how to do that myself. I searched for a bike repair shop near me and that led me to AV bike shop, which was my only choice as there are no other shops close to where I live. So I decided to give it a shot. I took it in and they said no problem we can fix so long story short after 3 days and $130 it was fixed. Now...to be honest they aren't bad in the sense that they had bad customer service but they aren't great in that area and could use a little improvement. I'm not giving a 3 stars because like I said it wasn't bad but not giving a 5 stars either because again it needs improvement in my opinion. They could start by not assuming that everyone that walks in there knows about bikes, be a little more inviting and more customer centered. I got the vibe that I was in there like I knew what they were talking about and nothing was really explained, even the questions I asked were not explained well. The little things go a long way and make people want to come back. Like I said they are the only shop near me so I have no choice but wished they would improve on that otherwise again not bad. read more

I have a Himiway Zebra ebike that the motor failed on with less than 800 miles. Himiway's warranty service was horrible and dishonest, BUT once I had the new motor from them, Kathleen and her technician saved the day and installed the motor and made my bike better than new. This place is such a scam. My son's bike had been working great for years, we just needed a new back tire tube replacement. When I brought the bike in they told me that it needed new gears and it would be $100 to fix, and I declined the service because it had been working great for years before this. The day I got my sons bike back, the gears and chain broke immediately upon riding it. They broke the gears and the chain so that I would have to pay them more to get it fixed even though it was fine before I brought it to them. They refused to fix the chain but they did tell me that if I bought a brand new bike from them that all service was free. They also quoted me $24 to fix the tire and when I picked up the bike, they told me it was actually going to be $38 because they ran out of stock on the normal tire and had to upgrade the tire to a thorn- resistant tire. However, when I dropped the bike off, they asked me if I wanted the thorn resistant tire and I told them no and they said that's okay because they had the regular tire in stock. Its cheaper to just buy another bike then to keep getting scammed at this place. Do not take your bike here for anything- not even something as simple as a tire replacement!!! read more

I love this bike shop, such a cool vibe here, and it all starts with the guys who run it! Not only do they give you great customer service they are super knowledgeable and always seem happy and excited to talk about bikes. I've come here many times for repairs, accessories, and even 2 bike purchases. First bike was a BMX style for my daughter. She was able to ride a bunch of bikes before she settled on hers. There's a great selection of bikes here as well so it took her awhile to decide, but the guys were very patient while she decided. I also purchased a LIV mountain e bike that had to be ordered since I'm so short. Aaron helped me out. He spent a lot of time with me showing me different models and options. He was a huge help with the sizing and made me feel confident we picked the right model for our type of riding. While waiting for the bike to ship I called Aaron to see if he could order some blue flat pedals that would match the bike. He went above and beyond by texting me some screenshots of different options and colors. Bike and pedals came in within 5 days. Picking up the bike was also amazing the guys were all so nice and are genuinely excited for me. Bikes purchased here also have lifetime adjustments, what an amazing benefit of shopping local! On May 6, 2023, I went to a local bicycle shop to repair my 6 year old son's rear bicycle rim. The bicycle is special, it's my son's first bike that he loves, that was given to him by his grandparents. Since I am not familiar with the local businesses in the High Desert area, I chose one close to me in Victorville. I just recently moved to the High Desert. I went into A bicycle shop in the city of Victorville and the individual behind the counter didn't even want to look at my son's bicycle but ended up taking to his mechanic that stated the rim could not be repaired. It was suggested I buy a used one and not tell my son. His demeanor was arrogant and he came off like he did not want my business/money. I can see why that place was empty upon arriving. This was a blessing. I ended up finding Apple Valley Bicycles. I had to drive a few more miles but it was worth it. From the get go when I called, I spoke with a female employee that was polite and informative. Upon arriving I was met by the female employee and was directed to their bicycle mechanic, a young man with a pleasant and professional demeanor . He greeted me in a polite and professional manner and even shook my hand like a man should. He looked at my son's bicycle and stated he could repair the rim. I was impressed with how answered me in a confident manner. I ended up returning later in the day with my mountain bike. My bike had been sitting for a few years, still in good condition, with a pair of flat tires. After a few days of leaving it at this shop, I returned to retrieve my bicycles. I was beyond impressed. My son's bicycle was repaired and cleaned up. I was more impressed on how my bike looked and functioned. It looked new after it was cleaned up, tuned up and tires, tubes and tube protectors were installed. The staff, ALL of them, big time polite, welcoming and professional. I can see why this shop was packed with customers. I observed how all staff was polite and professional with customers. I can tell there were repeat customers, "regulars" by how they called them by their first names. I was impressed how they spoke with my son, gave him a few stickers and made him and myself feel welcomed. I recommend this bicycle shop to all those in the High Desert area. Good customer service, quality workmanship on the repairs and tune-ups. Don't waste your time and bad service and rude behavior, go to where your business is appreciated. It was sunday about 2:30 and my shifter cable snapped. This was the only bike shop open so I went to see if I could get it replaced. The young girl working the counter said they don't take walk ins. I explained to her that I work down the hill and I wouldn't be able to pick it up until next sunday. Ok now remember this is Sunday at 2:30 and they close at 4:00 The girl said she understood and they took my bike in and the tech was doing a new build....DROPPED WHAT HE WAS DOING AND WORKED ON MY BIKE.....Who does this now days. Highway robbery with this bike shop. This is the most expensive bike shop I dealt with and no plans in coming back. Surrounding bike shops in the high desert is your best bet if you have no choice but to fix your bike or buying one. The owner has a sour attitude and the turn over rate on their bike mechanics are ridiculous. Every time I come to this place they always have different mechanics because the previous ones quit. What costs $20.00 at other bike shops will cost you around $40-$50 here. When shopping for a bike or need maintenance on your bike, shop around and do your research. This will confirm in what I am saying. I suggest in staying away from this place. read more

I've been using this shop for everything my e-bike needs for aroud two years now and I've had a good experience every time. I went in for a new seat and insted of JUST selling me a brand new one they offered me a used Selle Italia max flite gel superflow for 70 bucks. These things go for about 130 to 180 new. Even installed it for me there at no extra cost. I went in to get 2 new tube sealant and both tire and rim linear because my tires kept poping. Unfortunately they didn't have any of the sealants in the to go tubes. Which by the way they stock this high end stuff that seals just as good (if not better) as slime but doesn't gunk up your schrader valve for about the same price. Anyway I ended up bringing my bike in and for I think 10 extra dollars they did all the work for me. But whats really cool is that they showed me how my rim linear wasn't as bad as I thought and I could just put a few wraps of duct tape on it. I had the money they had the parts and they took time to teach my how to get more out of my bike and saved me some 70 or 90 dollars. Then they even showed me some maintenance I should be doing and didn't know about. I was just in the other day because my break wasn't stopping (I have disc breaks). I figured I've been riding almost everyday for about 2 years the pads should be going by now. But they were still good. And again they didn't try to up sell me. They just showed me what was wrong and how to fix it. The attached picture is my bike Edwin and this shop has kept him going. I don't know how the other shops in the high desert are and honestly it doesn't matter cause I know what shop I go to and who I trust. My only regret is I didn't buy my bike from this shop.
