Yesterday, I ordered from this location. Full disclosure, I'm currently a veteran inpatient at the VA Hospital. I heard good things about this place foodwise. I used Square Up since it said it was preferred by the business. I will never again use this service. My delivery driver, Humberto, did not follow directions. He texted me and stated he was at reception. A picture is worth a thousand words. This clearly was not delivered to the main reception area. My food was left somewhere in the hospital. Now. I did contact the restaurant, and they stated they would refund me. I'll have to wait and see. Apparently, it can take a minimum of 7 business days. In the future, I will go in person or use Grubhub or a more customer friendly service. Do not use Square Up. UPDATE: FOOD LOCATED! First things first. Contacted restaurant to let them know food located. They were very gracious. Secondly, the food was lukewarm at this point. I was still hungry, so I tried it. Oh. My. Goodness. The Carnitas Tostados were Bomb! Loaded with tender pork and fresh fixings. I also added jalapeños and pickled onions. I ordered a Chicken Plate as well. That was fire, too! The chicken is expertly grilled and flavorful, Pico, guacamole, and refried bean, it was just bursting with flavor. I repeat. This food was LUKEWARM but still tasty! I will definitely try them in the near future in person and, if delivery, will use a more well-known delivery app. read more

Friend recommended this place so I don't know if today was an off day - especially given the favorable reviews from other yelpers. I generally like to get carne asada meals to get a feel for a Mexican place. If you cannot master this classic, then I tend to be skeptical re the rest. Overall, very bland carne asada tacos. Meat itself had little flavor and the texture wasn't great (felt like I was eating day old carne asada - although my mom's day old carne asada is still bomb). The green salsa that accompanied it was pretty bland. It was a combo order with beans and rice. The beans were fine. Not bad, not great. The rice was very dry. I'm willing to try another item next time I'm in the area given the net positive reviews, but I was not impressed. read more

The best Mexican food South of Boston ! As one who grew up out West near the Mexican border, I miss quality authentic Mexican food. This restaurant meets that need. The main courses are made to order. My son likes a couple of changes, and they freely take requests. No sauces for a bottle, theirs are made in house ! If you enjoy natural soda with real sugar rather than corn syrup, this restaurant carries Mexican Coke and Mexican Jarritos Natural Flavor sodas. For dessert, there is a wonderful flan. Get it fast. It may sell out as the day progresses. Parking is on the street; however, the food is well worth one's effort to find a space. Honesty, this is the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten and I've eaten at Casa Bonita in Denver, CO which is known for its terrible food. I ordered the chicken enchiladas. They consisted of soggy corn tortillas wrapped around cubes of plain chicken breast and then topped with what tasted like canned sauce and some bagged shredded cheddar cheese. There was literally nothing besides cubed chicken in my enchilada. The beans were watery and bland and the rice looked like plain white rice. We also ordered chips with guacamole and queso. The queso was nacho cheese sauce from a can and the guacamole was also clearly from a package. The chips themselves were the best part of the meal. My husband ordered a chicken burrito which was essentially all the same stuff I had but wrapped in a flour tortilla. It was all bland. I don't know how this place got 4 stars on yelp. If you want some Mexican Coca Cola or Jarrito's sodas and chips, it's a great spot. Otherwise, I would rather eat Taco Bell. read more

Best breakfast burrito in Boston. They don't advertise it either. Perfect proportion of egg, meat, cheese, and hashbrown... and they put avocado in it and don't up-charge. You can order it with any meat, but the carne asada and chorizo are incredible. Both their chorizo and fish tacos are also amazing and are a great price. read more

Great authentic Mexican food. The staff and owner are really nice and work quickly to get you your food. The place is always super clean and is great for both eating there or for takeout. They have Mexican Coca Cola! They also have Jarritos - pretty much all the flavors. Don't pass on the home made chips - with salsa, guac, or queso! read more

I'd say be careful what you order. On the plus side, the 3 varieties of tacos we tried were quite good, as were the tortillas, housemade chips, and guac. But my pork plate (advertised as 'cochinita', which for the record is not the marinated pibil you might think of, and was also neither shredded as advertised nor with much of any flavor) came with totally plain rice and bland black beans, a touch of pico drowning in some liquid salsa, and some shreds of lettuce. Just a sad dish all around. Maybe it was a totally off day and I'm willing to try them again to confirm, but I think I need to be the dissenter here and say I prefer Chilacates- their rice and their beans always have tons of flavor (as do all of their proteins), their plates are always very fresh and balanced, and they're really consistent and reliable. This place doesn't look like much on the outside, but the authentic mexican food sign on the outside drew me in and it did not disappoint! The food is soo good and it is inexpensive. The staff is so nice and the menu has a large selection of different meats that they can prepare several ways. I love the tacos! Tried Yucatan for the first time and wow they were amazing. The food is delicious, and the prices are even better! It's a very traditional Mexican restaurant. Solid chorizo burrito and nachos. A lot of rice in the buritto, and a good amount of meat, not too many beans. The nachos came with refried beans, cheese, salsa, sour cream, the jalapenos were all piled up in the corner, in case you're sharing them with someone who doesn't like their food too spicy. The prices on the website are a little outdated. The nachos were $6.49, and the buritto was $8.99. Overall worth checking out. Maybe next time I'll try the quesadillas. read more

Yucatán is by far my favorite burrito spot. I usually get a shrimp burrito (which is wrapped in a flour tortilla with rice, beans, cheese, and salsa), and chips and guacamole. The guacamole and the burrito are both absolutely delicious! I usually add some guacamole to my burrito along with some hot sauce from the restaurant. And indeed, this place is VERY Mexican, not only the employees as noted, but also from the interior decor, to the furnishings, to the sombreros hanging on the wall, to the TV prominently showing the scantily clad Mexican Pop stars dancing...well you get the idea. This place is indeed authentic Mexican, much more so than other places like this in the area (Wapo Taco). Anyways, onto the food, they have a good amount of choices, with the obvious fare such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas along with some authentic Mexican dinners such as chimichangas, enchilada plates, and fajitas. One of my favorite things on the appetizer menu is the Queso Asado. It's a pork/cheese/onion/peppers dip topped with sour cream that is AMAZING. Pair this with your favorite burrito and taco, and you are SET. They also have authentic Mexican sodas as well. Not my thing, but helps with the authentic thing.. Prices are fairly cheap, $5 for the chicken quesadilla that is definitely enough for one hungry single person. Split an appetizer with someone, and you are FULL for under 10 bucks. Definitely worth it. Yucatan is a great place for Mexican food in an area that doesn't HAVE lots of Mexican (authentic) places, and also is a great place for awesome food for a great price. I love Mexican Food and I've been stopping here regularly for about 8 years or so. Service is always consistent and fast. It's not a very spacious restaurant but it's well-decorated and has a nice feel about the place. The people behind the register are quiet and don't seem to give off the most inviting vibe, but as a regular patron, I can tell you that nobody is unfriendly...they are simply just quiet folks. And they will always get your order right. You order at the front register, but then take your seat and they will deliver your meal to you. Their menu is standard Mexican with a lot of choices. I religiously order the Queso Asado for a starter and a chicken burrito with no beans. First off: no greeting when we walked in by the two guys working there. Second: there was no aroma of food or any presentation of it. So you order without even seeing what anything looks like. Most authentic restaurants like this have the food out in the hot containers where you can see the different items such as the rice, beans, cheeses, and so fort. Even when we ordered all the food is being taken from containers that are kind of hidden. It wasn't from the hot station that's directly next to the register. Third: the food was ok, not good, but not disgusting. I ordered the chicken quesadillas. There was no flare to it, it's not authentic at all. The chicken was thickly cut into PERFECT cubes, and not cooked on the grill . Very flavorless . My husband got one of the chicken plates and the rice was literally white rice cook with a little softito. So the rice took the color of that tomato sauce, light light red/orange ,but it was a little undercook and had very LITTLE flavor. And the beans were definitely from the can. There we very firm. Anyone should be able to tell the difference from beans cooked in a pot on the stove vs beans poured out of a can . So we will not be back , I've had Los Amigos down the street and let me tell you, THATS AUTHENTIC! Everything is sooo well flavored and the people who work there are very pleasant. Super awesome! It's a small restaurant where you walk up to the counter to order from a large menu of fresh food. There are burritos, tacos, carnas, fish and veggies. Everything is prepared to order and comes to you quickly. The staff is friendly and happy to answer questions about the menu. There is a small salsa bar where you serve yourself. Most meals run around $8-$12 - a great deal for the amount by of food and it's freshness. Highly recommend! read more
