Pretty good, and despite what you might expect, the fish has never once had that fishy taste, so great and that's a better showing than a lot of the sushi places around here! I recommend the fried offerings, shrimp shumai, the egg rolls for sure, they are excellent. The dumplings are fine, the octopus balls are great, but off the menu I think. The dipping sauces for these is a favorite of mine. I typically get a sushi burrito. I recommend a spicy hot cheeto in one, it weirdly works with the right combination of stuff. The marinated tuna is alright and so is a shrimp tempura as protein. Otherwise, whatever you like. I typically do carrots, edamame, oshinko (pickled, radish I suspect), maybe seaweed salad. I love sushi and while looking for a place we past this and decided to stop and try it. The choices were great, I wanted chunks of tuna and got spicy Tuna and I think salmon. A bunch of veggies along with yum yum sauce on top. Got the seaweed on the side since my husband don't like it. I was not wanting to eat too much so we shared this. I did eat the tuna and some of the spicy but couldn't eat anymore. Everything was nice and fresh. The employee was very understating being our first time here. We really enjoyed this and would stop back for sure. This is the fast food of sushi if your in a hurry. They work pretty fast and you could have your food within minutes. I saw a lot of good reviews on the place, so I had to try it out. They use the same menu style as which-which, fill out boxes on a paper slip with what you want. Maybe good for usual customers, but terrible for new customers. Well, I fill out the boxes, bring it to the line and watch them fill my bowl with tiny portions of food. We ordered 2 bowls with 2 proteins each, total was $30!!! Maybe they skimped on portion size this day or it was the usual??? Won't ever know because I won't be back. Local Mover is greatFULL for a YUM spicy and delicious Molakai bowl! I've come here for the third time now after helping our clients with moving. Every time I've tried something different and today was the Molakai bowl. I love hot and spicy food so I had to try this one out. Mann, is this thing Spicyyy!! Four stars because the fish is consistently fresh and my meal is always delish. Although, the employees aren't always the nicest. Asheville finally got a poke joint, and, although it's not authentic, it's probably as good as we're gonna get for at least a few years. Being that we're not coastal, I am thankful for some fresh seafood in the form of this traditional Hawaiian grub. Yes, they have the sushi burrito. Yes, it's basically a giant sushi roll. And yes, it is freakin' delicious. But I gotta say, the build-your-own poke bowl is where it's at. Oh, and they have the rolled ice cream that was an Instagram sensation (and probably still is) in 2017. It's delish and unique. Like I said above, the employees aren't always the nicest human beings. But some are consistently great and extremely respectful. I guess it just depends who is working? This is exactly what Asheville has been needing! Absolutely A+ delicious Poke bowl experience was had by my husband and I here. Yum Sushi Burrito & Poke has a few signature Poke Bowls and appetizers (ahi waffle fries, dumplings, spring rolls) as well as build your own Sushi Burrito, Poke Bowl or Salad options as well as Rolled Ice Cream. I wasn't blown away by the signature poke bowl offerings so of course I created my own. I had a Poke Bowl with white rice and two protein choices for $9.95. I had the Ahi Tuna and spicy Crab Salad with edamame, avocado, corn, masago (roe), carrots, seaweed salad, tempura crunchies, spicy aoili and unagi eel sauce. My husband went for the three proteins for $11.95 and enjoyed the spicy Salmon, Ahi Tuna and Tempura Shrimp. He had much different ingredients including mango, fried onions, cabbage and mushrooms. We were both super satisfied with our meals. The flavors were really rich and complex and everything tasted super fresh. Also, the portion sizes are quite large for the price. I ate like 3/4 or my meal and my husband gladly ate his and my leftovers. My only complaint is that the line moves very, very slow. When we arrived, there were about 7 people in front of us. This is counter service, so you order at the counter and they make your food in front of you (like Subway). We waited in line for more than 25 minutes before paying for our food and eating. Although they had a ton of staff on duty, the lines moves very slow. This seems like a problem to me. This kind of food should have a quick assembly line so people can stop by on lunch breaks, etc to grab a hearty meal. Just pulled up ten minutes ago (8:24)to the front window. The whole staff was already cleaning for closing. Guy at the front line, threw his head back after seeing my truck pull up and threw down his rag. The unprofessionalism obviously made me not want to go in to order so I just left. What's a sushi burrito, you might ask?! My answer to that is: go to Yum Poke yourself and figure it out. But, if you *must* know; it's pretty much a sushi roll rolled into the shape of one giant burrito. I mean not like freakishly large burrito, just like a normal size burrito. An average burrito size. A large size burrito for sushi but average for burritos. Just go and see for yourself. They're off long shoals rd in Julian Shoals Village- in the plaza next door to Benjamin Moore. Craft centric is next door. For a second, I got really excited - because I thought it was a craft store where I could get supplies to make a paper mache voodoo doll of my ex boyfriend. Turns out it's a craft beer store and taproom, which I suppose is just as equally exciting. The inside of Yum Poke is fresh & clean and had fun/upbeat music playing, a great ambiance for a quick lunch or dinner after work. You can either order order a signature sushi burrito or bowl, or make your own. Or, get a salad or a few of some of their side dishes. If the thought of making a decision on the spot gives you a horrible rash, I suggest just ordering off the signature menu, which has some sushi burrito ideas already there for you. I ordered a classic burrito (sans mango - last time I ate mango I went into anaphylactic shock). It came filled with salmon, miso beans, shredded lettuce, seaweed, rice, corn, and eel sauce wrapped in rice paper. It's super fresh and nomz, and comes packaged in a cute little faux historical newspaper with fun captions. Next time I'm going to try their tofu burrito, and order a few sides to go to take to work the next day; like the spring rolls and seaweed salad. Sushi burrito has way too much rice. The ratio was off. I got the Wasabi Yuzu Salmon and there was really no wasabi or yuzu taste to it. It was really quite bland. Spicy crab fries were okay. The masago tasted a little off. I also got the rolled ice with fruit loops and that was probably the best thing I had but it wasn't anything to write home about. read more

When I first heard of sushi burritos, not only was I filled with complete curiosity, but I couldn't envision what they might be like. Unfortunately, sushi burritos were only allotted to big cities and my millennial self couldn't wait to get her hands on one. For those of you who are extremely unsure of what sushi burritos actually are, they are like one gigantic sushi roll that has not been cut. When I first found out that Yum Sushi Burrito and Poke was opening, I was beyond excited. The setup is similar to a Chipotle's or a Moe's where you go in and order from the menu or select build your own. All ingredients are within sight as you order. The ingredients including the fish look not only fresh but up to sushi grade. There is an assortment of fish, vegetables, fruit and a wide range of wasabi sauces and aioli's to choose from. Including burritos, poke bowls are highly ranked as well and look darn good. I've been three times and ordered once straight from the menu (Yum's classic) and the other two times I have built my own burrito. In addition to great food, service has always been fantastic and staff is well trained on the menu. If you are a sushi lover, I highly recommend this place. It will not disappoint. read more

This is the first sushi burrito I've tried and it didn't disappoint! I tried the Yum's Classic and the Hawaiian Classic. The Hawaiian was too hot for my taste-- the wasabi sauce was all throughout it and I almost couldn't make it through the half I had tried. But the Yum's Classic was delicious! There seemed to be less rice in the Yum's Classic too, leaving more room for the fish. I called in for takeout and the service was very friendly. I definitely recommend! I wish the spot were closer to Haywood County because I love it! I really love that you can customize exactly what you want or you can choose from their menu of signature bowls suggestions as well. Typically I will just start out with rice and go through and add in what I think would be good! Salmon, Tuna, Avocado, Cream Cheese, Sauces, etc., etc. We have been here several times and will continue to visit. Really enjoy the poke bowls but also the Spicy fries are a highly recommended side along with the Kani Salad. They are pretty spicy to be but still tasty! If you are new when you go in you can check out the menu on the wall, they also will answer any questions you may have (our first time I had them explain everything), or you can always look online as well at their website and see pictures of everything! And you can even order online too! What is always helpful to me personally when making decisions of what I want to try out is seeing what it looks like if it's new. i LOVE yum poke! it's a staple for my boyfriend and i, especially cause we work right next to it. i'm giving it 4 stars (which would be 4.5 if i could), because i could not order in person comfortably. the music is usually very loud and there is a pretty hefty distance between you and the employee filling your bowl. that being said though, it's super easy to order online! i can usually get away with paying $15 for a bowl with 2 proteins with a bunch of fresh extra toppings (and they are, 4 out of 5 times, suuuuper generous with their portion sizes). i'm almost always stuffed after eating half of the bowl and finishing the rest for lunch the next day. i could not recommend yum poke more! read more

I think most these reviews are lies or maybe everyone ate there when the manager was on duty cause my experience is that the portions are way too small, never seen imitation crab meat count as a protein, the only cooked meat options are steak equal to chipotle in flavor and quality or chicken, so I guess if you're pregnant or just don't eat raw food you're getting a chipotle bowl. Nothing but creamy or sugary sauces. Nothing about this place is actual poke more like American Asian fusion...and that's a reach. Looks cool inside though. This place has ruined me, the quality of the fish is amazing and you get such a great array of flavors with the way the bowls are setup. I could eat there for the next few weeks and never have the same meal. The bar style ordering style makes it really easy to come up with something you'll like and it's really affordable! Sounded perfect to me. Yum is in the brand new business complex off of long shoals drive, the buildings aren't totally finished in fact but Yum has a space on the end with se outside seating. The view of the power plant is less than desirable, but I don't think anyone who's coming here is coming for the view. We both ordered a Diy poke bowl. It's kinda like a sandwich shop where you can add as many veggies as you want. They have white and brown rice, or you can make it into a salad or a burrito! Then choose your protein, I got spicy tuna and spicy salmon, and your veggies (green onions, cucumbers, ginger, mangos, etc) and a dressing, I got shiracha aioli. It's unique for Asheville and I do think I'd like to return! I recommend checking them out if you are in the area. Oh! First, let me say that this place has potential. The only thing they need to do is serve authentic Poke. Poke is raw cubes of fish marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, scallions, sesame seeds and Hawaiian salt. They do have spicy tuna and salmon , which technically can be called poke cause it's marinated in a spicy mayo, but if your going to claim Hawaiian Style, traditional poke should be served. This was a pretty cool place right in the Asheville area! It's a poké spot as well as a rolled ice cream joint! They have a ton of options for your bowls. Think Chipotle-style ordering. Most of the menu involves either a poké bowl or a sushiburrito, which is mainly just a roll of sushi uncut. They have all the classic options for sushi--tuna, salmon, crab, shrimp--as well as a few interesting options for your bowls, such as romaine lettuce or cherry tomatoes. The rice comes hot, and when they place all the ingredients (that you choose) in, they offer a variety of six sauces ranging from sriracha to unagi. There is also the option of getting a signature bowl, as well as appetizers. I had the poké bowl with brown rice, salmon, tuna, cucumber, and mango with sriracha and unagi sauce drizzled on. It was fairly good! I felt very full after ward, and all the ingredients were fresh and made the bowl enjoyable. We also got some gyoza for the table as well as their tuna fries. I recommend the gyoza but not the fries. The gyoza was great just as it usually is: fried. The fries, however, were strange. They drizzled yum yum sauce on them, which was actually very good. But they also dropped what looked like tuna salad or paste on top, and it didn't look very appetizing, nor did it have much flavor at all. The texture was pâté-like, so not what you would expect on fries. The only other take away from this place is that the menu seemed harder to read and understand than it needed to be.
