    Regular Poke Bowl

What can I say about this place, Yum poke is one of my personal favorites in Asheville. Amazing and fresh food and kind and friendly customer service. I highly recommend getting a Bowl with brown rice and crab salad and spicy salmon with pineapple, edamame, jalapeños, avocado, with sweet Shoyu and Unagi sauces with tempura flakes

No one @ me this place is the biggest slay Asheville has seen since the establishment of the Biltmore estate in 1895. The fish portions are so generous and the sauce is mmm scrumdiliumptious. As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things poke, I think it's safe to say you can trust me on this one.

Yum...Is an accurate word to describe Yum Sushi Burrito & Poke!! Wonderful fresh ingredients with lots of choices to build a salad, burrito or a bowl! The portions are very generous & delicious! Nice to have a healthy food choice on Long Shoals Rd.

Just awful, this is not Hawaiian food. Low quality. I do not recommend this place if you have any knowledge of good food.

The Hound is a great cocktail lounge on its own, but thinking of the restaurant business providing its food service, Bonito Kitchen has to be one of the best new places to eat in Asheville. You order food at the bar where you order drinks at The Hound, they give you a number to put on the table and they bring your food and bus the table. The Hound was packed when we went early on a Saturday evening, presumably because it was a gorgeous summer day and they had a live band playing on the patio. Most of the customers were just having drinks on the patio and listening to the band. There was a queue to order drinks and/or food at the inside bar, but it moved pretty fast. We ordered cocktails and enjoyed the drinks and conversation while we waited for our food (which was timed about right). Service both for drinks and the food was good and efficient. We had a bowl of Japanese hurricane popcorn (with butter, wasabi peas, nori furikake, kakimochi and candied peanuts) to munch on with the cocktails, followed by patatas bravas. Often patatas bravas are like thick French fries, breaded and deep fried. But here they were roasted with the skin on and covered with what they call bravas sauce (good level of spiciness), as well as garlic aioli. For entrees we had "gringas" grilled quesadillas, with pastor pulled pork, two cheeses (including one called chihuahua cheese, which I've never heard of before), grilled pineapple and cilantro lime crema. The pineapple really made this dish stand out. We also had ono taegu chicken wings, which were nice and crispy with a sweet and fairly hot Korean-style honey gochujang glaze/sauce, accompanied by a sriracha ranch dipping sauce, which also had some nice kick. The real highlight of the entrees though was Moroccan b'stilla, which is Middle Eastern-spiced shredded chicken, toasted almonds and kale layered in very thin and flaky filo pastry with a subtle but tasty garnish of pomegranate honey, pistachios and cinnamon. Think savory baklava! On the side was an equally delicious Moroccan carrot salad with great spicing and golden raisins. I felt like I had found some little oasis in some desert in North Africa! And all of this was in one place here in Asheville. As I said, amazing. We can't wait to go back and try several other menu items. The menu will change seasonally.

I was relieved to see they had a parking lot with free parking though since my prior 2 days in Asheville I struggled to find parking everywhere I tried to go. We ordered 2 create your own poke bowls with the 3 proteins. When I saw what was classified as "protein," I was disappointed because although they had a lot of options for protein, the menu only allowed for an option of 2 or 3 protein per bowl. I'm not sure if I could've asked for more, but I just went by the menu and ordered 3. But I had a hard time selecting because there was multiple proteins I wanted. I was able to rule out scallop which I normally ordered because theirs looked incredibly dry though. I also wanted to order spicy crabmeat which is another usual, but most poke places do not consider that a protein and it comes as a complimentary topping usually so I was disappointed I couldn't order that here as it would've counted as my protein. I decided on spicy salmon, salmon, and spicy tuna. In the end, I was pleased with my choices and bowl. They allow you to choose as many mix ins as you want (at least 10 options)- I think I picked all but 3 of them. They have a variety of sauces- again, I think 10 different ones. They were unique sauces that I hadn't seen before at other places as well. I went with siracha aioli and sweet shoyu. I had to ask for a little of each since they are generous with the sauce. My husband and I shared a bowl and it was enough for both of us. The ingredients tasted and looked very fresh. They give very generous portions of fish. Probably the most I've ever been given on my poke bowl, actually. My sister ordered the scallop despite it looking dry and she said it was actually not bad as well. We were all quite pleased with our bowls and definitely would come back!

I wasn't starving so I had a kid's size poke salad, it was delicious with all the toppings I chose, and I wasn't bloated when I left. I had the spicy crab as my protein and liked it. Everything I had was fresh and they fixed it up fast. Can't complain! I got to try Cheerwine off the soda fountain for the first time, that stuff is good. I mixed it with diet pepsi to keep from drinking too much sugar.
