Wow! I think this is the best Thai I've ever had! I got the food to go while visiting Chicago. When I got it back to the house it was still hot & fresh. I got Pad Kee Mao. It was jam packed portion with lots of chicken, & vegetables. Usually restaurants are stingy on the meat & veggies but this meal was a perfect ratio with the noddles. My friend also got food that they said was delicious. Since we got it to go there was limited interaction with staff & being in the restaurant. It looked clean. Pretty easy to find parking options. The food was ready when I arrived & the lady at the front was very pleasant. Highly recommend checking out Yum Thai! read more

A Yelp first for me... a third review of an establishment. And with good reason. I'm part of a small group of ten people at my church in Glenview. We've met about a dozen times or so and early on, someone would step up and bring food to our gatherings. My group is mostly of Asian descent so I've enjoyed some awesome dishes such as pancit, lechon and a Malay dish to name a few. It was my turn to step up this week, so I decided to bring Chicken Pad Thai from Yum Thai along with a couple of appetizers. There are about a half dozen Thai places near me and all of them offer some great Thai food. But to me, the Pad Thai at Yum Thai is the best. And while the hospitality is good at the other places too, it feels like the red carpet gets rolled out for me every time I go there. So I picked up the order right when they opened so I'd make it to my meeting. The owner lent me a warming bag to ensure the food stayed hot for the 45 minute trip... she also priced my order favorably as well. So I set the food up when I arrived and we ate as we began our meeting. The group absolutely LOVED the food... including two comments, "this is the best Chicken Pad Thai I've ever had." So I'm not alone with my opinion! Thanks again to all at Yum Thai for providing us with an outstanding meal. read more

Dined in around 6pm on a Saturday night and it was lovely. They played music, enough for a good background noise, but nothing crazy. We sat at the bar and the service was impeccable. Went here yesterday for a late lunch. Was overwhelmed at how cute this place is, and our waitress was extremely nice and helpful! We were both going to order the Tom Yum soup, but she recommended we split it since she said it was very large. FANTASTIC soup!! Probably one of the best I've ever had, just be forewarned it is on the spicier side. As a lunch special, they also offer 2 potstickers or cucumber salad with your entrees per person. We chose both and split that as well. VERY good!! For our entree we had the Pad See Ew and again, probably one of the best I ever had with lots of veggies and chicken. Do not pass up the place. Best Thai food I've had all year - absolutely try the Cat fish Curry the fish is perfectly cooked and the coconut curry packs a punch that makes me want to come back next week. I hadn't been to Yum Thai in years since they were at the old location. About a year ago, we decided we wanted Thai and came into the present location. Since then, in the past year, we've returned at least 8 times. These people are awesome. The food is always great and fresh. From the minute you walk in the door, they are pleasant, attentive, and willing to go out of their way for us as customers. I'm not sure why a minority of people find a problem with this place, but I've never had one, and every time I've eaten there, I see nothing but happy customers. This isn't a place where you order, get your food and forgotten about until you get the bill. They literally go out of their way numerous times to make sure your food and overall dining experience is to your expectations. I've been to a lot of Thai places over the years, and regret never returning to Yum Thai for many years, but this is one of my favorite places for Thai Food. It's literally worth the trip to go there, as I don't live in the immediate area. The owner and the young lady who waits on us, are the best! No complaints here! read more

Ordered takeaway from Yum Thai last night. My 4 yo had the satay skewers and ate 2 of them, huge win. And they really were tasty, especially the peanut dipping sauce, which had a little kick so he didn't eat much of it. My husband had chicken pad see ewe which was just okay. My Penang tofu curry was something to write home about for sure- yum! The tofu was the melt in your mouth kind, the kind I always hope for when I order tofu and almost never get, and the curry was rich and flavorful. The only thing that would have made it better was if I could have ordered tofu + veggies. read more

We've been coming to Yum Thai since it was at the previous location. Tonight we were very happy to see the new location was full with the costumes! If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. The owner is delightful and the server is so nice. We have been there a few times and it is some of the best Thai food I have had in the States. So far we have had the Panang curry, Green curry, spicy ground chicken with basil, Pad see ew, and Ko soy. We also had the shrimp with ground chicken appetizer. All were excellent. Prices are really reasonable and portions are generous. I can't say enough good things about this place. I live in CA but if I lived here I would go here a few times a month. read more

I feel like crab rangoons are always a good indicator of how the rest of the food will be, and I'd rate theirs a 12/10. Perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and not greasy at all. Ordered dinner from Yum Thai tonight and it was ok. Had it delivered via grub hub. I'm surprised they delivered this far away. The super high reviews may have thrown off my expectations, but I find the food to be so-so. I ordered the red curry spicy and it was quite spicy. This was decent. The pad kee mao was also decent. The basil tofu was not real great. I don't think there was a spicy or other option on the dishes except for the curry, so maybe there wasn't enough spiciness. Idk. Overall it was just kind of good but not great. I'd like to make it out to this restaurant in-person once and give it a shot. Looking forward to that. read more

The only reason i went there for food pick-up was from all the 5 star reviews. I've never eaten there before. 4pm pick up on a Friday with only 2 customers sitting in a dingy, dark restaurant without any music or staff nearby. I didn't want to judge but i should've predicted the food would get me sick later. Had to yell out "hello" 3 times to get help while i saw staff's feet sitting behind a curtain ignoring me and my food sitting on the counter getting cold. After getting home and opening the pad Thai and the Hawaiian noodles, the Hawaiian looked interesting but the pad Thai looked so without color, and i eat pad Thai from other places so i knew from the start this pad Thai does not look 5 stars like the other reviews said. But anyways i shared my food with another person. That night i got sick. The other person, who never gets sick from food and has an iron stomach, heated up left overs (a lot left cuz i didn't like it) and ate them. He then woke up a few hours later and had an upset stomach and diarrhea. I had diarrhea that evening i ate the food and the next day throughout the morning. There is no way this place is so many stars. I used to live in forest park and it's a shame its residents thing this is actually good food. For those prices, i eat at much better places. read more

Manager defines rudeness in response to customer concerns. Extremely confrontational and insulting rather than acknowledging services that need improvement. Wait staff is friendly but obviously embarrassed by management's abrasive attitude. These are difficult times for restaurants but there's no excuse for boorish behavior. read more

Fantastic food and even better service! Came in for a solo dinner on a Thursday night. Their delivery/takeout demand was high, but no one was dining in. I ordered enough food for a group - Thai iced tea, fried tofu, Tom kha, sesame chicken, and mango sticky rice. Every item was well seasoned and delicious. Great dishes, whether traditional or innovative. I myself am a Pad-Kee-Mao person; it did not disappoint, and it may be the best I've ever had--not just hot, but flavorful. Companions enjoyed their Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, (Chicken) Satay, Bangkok Chicken, and we've liked a couple of dishes (the exact names of which don't appear on the online menu), a seafood pasta, and, especially, a green noodle dish--perhaps a special. Haven't tried the Thai Iced Coffee yet, but will soon. Friendly staff, nice ambience without pretense, reasonably priced. Highly recommended, and is making me hungry as I write. read more
