So my friends and I were cheating on our diets and what better way to do that then to have some delicious donuts right? So we didn't plan to come here, but we saw it on our way and had to stop. I absolutely love the almost retro look they are going for. They have so many donuts there. It can be almost daunting if you aren't a regular, since some of the flavors have names that don't explain the taste. The staff seemed a little annoyed we were asking questions as well. Kind of made the experience a little less fun for sure. The flavors are quite good. They are definitely not the best donuts I've ever had. I have one in Syracuse and there is on in NYC that are unbeatable in terms of flavor and creativity, but these guys were a taste treat. I recommend anything that was raspberry filled. Have wanted to try the donuts here for a while...finally stopped in over the holidays. The young lady behind the counter was really nice and patient while we tried to decide what to try. We got half a dozen and some coffee. Maybe the regular baker was off? Maybe we chose the wrong 6 donuts? Maybe the donuts and coffee here just suck? Not impressed at all. Atmosphere is typical of a donut shop. Employees leave opportunity for better staff. The employee that helped us was rude, as we placed our order she stood there impatient. I didn't see it but I felt like she could be tapping her foot. We ordered a dozen mixed, and was deciding if we should get another dozen mixed or bagels (ended up with bagels), a box of coffee, 2 water and was contemplating to add another coffee but the look on her face made us stop there. After she cashed us out we went to ask a question about the Big Kahuna but she turned and walked to the back. I have been going here for years! Way better than Dunkin or Krispy Kreme or any places like that! My favorite is the Boston Crème, and I've gotten their 2nd largest donut for my birthday breakfast (as a surprise done by my mom) two years in a row! Seeing as the big donuts have holes in them, I was super surprised when I cut in to see that delicious crème inside. We even got their layered donut "cake" (not sure what it's called but it's got a large donut base with a normal donut on top and then a donut hole on top of that) for the breakfast of a birthday sleepover! I cannot recommend them enough! The only thing that isn't as awesome is that sometimes there's a line that wraps around the side of the building (outside), and sometimes the crème in the Boston crème is a little watery/the flavor is diluted, but I never mind because it's amazing and fresh! read more

We always preferred the freshly made, never frozen, delicious Yum Yum doughnuts. However, we picked vanilla cream filled doughnuts up the other day and were surprisingly disappointed. Yum Yum has, unfortunately, cut down on their cream fillings. You got to ask, a cost-cutting measure? Each of our doughnuts just had a smattering of your delicious vanilla cream. The donuts here are just head and shoulders above Dunkin' because there made fresh in house rather then in a huge factory deep in the pineys and trucked in deeply refrigerated trucks. Their coffee ain't the buck but it's better the Dunkin hot coffee and they also do better breakfast sandwiches then Dunkin as well although I don't think that those delicious combos of egg cheese sausage and crescent are worth 5-600 calories. WOW! Terrific old-school donut shop. I love myself a good devil's food glazed donut, and this place did not disappoint! Terrific selection of flavors - we purchased a dozen and every single donut was delicious. So fresh and authentic! A few selections we tried include blueberry, French apple, red velvet, old-fashioned glazed, toasted coconut (OMG YUM!), cinnamon, and Boston cream. Again I have been going to Yum Yums for 20+ years but the undependability of this establishment makes me sad because every time I go here I just want to get a quality white lightning (which today was good - so yay) but half the time I just about finish the donut and there's no creme - now maybe it's because a lot of people don't like creme (crazy?!) but if you're ordering a white lightning you should like creme and therefor enjoy having a filled donut. So anyway - inconsistency is the point for me here. I know I've taken other lack luster fill shots but for now here's is my white lightning (decent fill) and chocolate thunder (did they forget that this was supposed to have creme?) - is this even from the same bakery ? But I did learn you can ask to get them extra filled but like I shouldn't have to do that... also they did appear to have so many flavors around fall time that I never have tried - so maybe I'll try other donuts and be happier ? read more

Arguably one of the best donut shops in the area. I love Yum Yum donuts because their baked goods always tastes fresh and prices are inexpensive (a donut is priced at 99 cents a piece). They have a variety of flavors to choose from. I tried the sugar raised donut at my most recent visit. It was so light and fluffy inside. Just how I like my donuts! Really, really amazing donuts. As I type this I my pants are too tight because I've admittedly eaten 8 of their donuts in the past 4 days. Their glaze donut is simple perfection. Chocolate crueler is the perfect amount of glaze coated chocolates goodness. My 9 year old gave them a 10/10 and promptly asked if he could have them for his birthday. I was honestly a bit perturbed during my first visit where a cashier ignored me for several minutes while she sat talking to a relative. I thought the amish made the best donuts in the area, so my expectations were not high when I had my first taste of a Yum Yum donut. But it only took a couple of bites of a Dutch crumb donut to make me a realize that the Amish have nothing on Yum Yum. That donut is amazing. I've had a chance to sample more donuts since then and they all our delicious. Donuts with filling have generous portions of filling, with the French apple donut being my favorite filled donut. I dont think u can go wrong with any Yum Yum donut. I wish they would open a location in Center City Philadelphia! read more
