One piece of advice, is avoid the baked beans. They're a bit overly sweet. And to me baked beans should have some bacon in them or something like that. These disappointed a bit. But the barbecue is phenomenal. And to be honest, the thing that really stole the show was at noon they play the national anthem and everybody stands to face the flag, I love the patriotic atmosphere and you can tell that this place is run by people who care. This is the best BBQ pork that I've eaten at a restaurant, succulent, delicate, smokey, flavorful, esthetically appealing, and it makes me wish that we had something like this in the Atlanta area. I love fried okra, when it's cooked properly, and with that comes critical feedback; their version reminds me of how my grandmother made her fried okra (and that's the standard I use to measure all others by.) The mixed greens had a slight hint of smoky ham hock, probably could have benefitted from a little more salt, but I understand that some people have to watch their sodium intake so I bet the restaurant leaves that up to the customer. Our server was a delight, very smiley and cheery, welcoming, etc. Inside, it feels like they have preserved history and married it to classy modernity. There was a little wait time (actually a long wait now that I think about it) since everything was cooked to order and brought to the table. Minus a star for that because we were the only people inside beside another couple. Obviously they try to get the drive through out quicker than the people inside.
