Decided to try out the Yuma River Tubing today and it didnt disappoint. 8 of us did the 1 hour float. Called the night before to reserve a spot for the next day. When we arrived, checking-in and signing waivers was easy and went quick. Staff were friendly and helpful. We brought drinks, snacks and sandwiches in a cooler and rented an extra tube for it. Be sure to bring sunblock, hats, rash-guards (if you burn), and a small plastic paddle or even a frisbee can help get you away from brush if needed. read more

This was the 5th time I've been on this river tubing. It truly is the most relaxing thing I do all year. I just unwind and disconnect from everything; It's a slow relaxing pace, not an adrenaline junkie event for sure. The owner and her son make a great team. Every time I've gone it's right on schedule and never any regrets. I've never been when's it overcrowded. You can always choose to float around others or be completely alone. Fantasic!! Took our own stuff but took the bus up to the 5 mile float. Took the dog along as well and he loved it. The only thing that would make the ride better was that there was no AC in the vans do it made for a hot ride but it's only like 10 or 15 mins so it's not unbearable. We were out on the 3rd...and I can tell you it was quite the adventure. Although this was our 5th trip it was a bit different this time. Lol not thinking the river would be out of control after a torrential downpour we thought the day is great lets go for it. I want to THANK the operators of Yuma River Tubing...they provided us with valuable safety information. They even provided us with life vests. We took a good friend with us and had told her how calm and relaxing this is...hahaha...she told me I was nuts as the trees and tullies were riding alongside with our floats. My family and I went to Yuma specifically to float down the Colorado River in inner tubes. Not only did we have the best time on the river but I am so glad we used Yuma River Tubing. They were professional, on time and very knowledgeable. We had another group with us that were a 15-20 minutes late due to some car trouble. Vanessa who was our driver was so kind and patient. She waited until they came so our plans were not disrupted. My kids and I had the very best time floating down the river. The water was warm and very slow. Perfect for young kids. never been tubing down a river, perhaps a lazy river though at the same time it cannot compare to the real thing! Came down from San Diego and at first, I want to be sure of what to expect. we had a group of 10 each group had a cooler float which if you are going to get yourself one. the price for the tubing was reasonable, we meet at a park and took a fun ride to the loading zone and off we were. A couple tips! bring umbrellas to shade you from the sun; i must have been spoiled with the San Diego sun, cause Arizona has a very warning and welcoming sun! i can still feel the sunburn . you can bring some bungees to tie the tubes together so you can stay with your group. however, they will provide you with some rope to tie the tubes together. We came with our 2 yr old, so it is definitely safe door the little ones! she enjoyed the trip and definitely enjoyed the snacks!! don't forget to bring a water proof speaker for sone of those river chill vibes, and make sure your electronics are protected. you can spend some money on a good one or just go to the dollar tree and pick up one for you. i want too sure about it, but my phone survived the trip and a dunk in the water. Definitelt will come again, and will surely use more sunscreen in spray form! that's my last trip of the day. read more

FROM JULY: My friend and I were there on Sunday to take a ride down. We are very upset with the customer service. It wasn't customer service oriented at all. We had called a couple of times, days prior, to set up the 9 o'clock appointment time. The one time my friend received a call back, she was told that 10 AM was the only spot available. Upon our actual appointment for 10 AM, we were told that there was indeed a 9 AM check-in time. Why the conflicting information? Also, we paid $50 cash, but were NOT able to go down the river, since your vans are old and worn down and could not blow up our float. I understand that the driver did take us from point A to point B, but that drive was literally only three minutes long. A SIX minute ride altogether is not worth $50. We are extremely angry and upset at this situation. I've requested through VENMO several times to send me a refund. Please make it right. read more

Took my grandson and myself this past Sunday. The crew was awesome. We got 3 tubes, one for each of us & one for the cooler. It was our first time on the river. Learned some things for next time. What to bring... like more snacks, music. I can not stress enough, SUNSCREEN!! I totally forgot the tops of my feet.... eye roll!!! :( They got so burnt and they're swollen.... They are money hungry and after you pay you are standing waiting around until they are ready and told to be patient. and reading all of these negative reviews I definitely would just buy your own floats and go down yourself. read more

Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Check-in was quick and easy. We brought some tubes and rented some. They helped load all our gear in and the drive to the drop off point was quick and not at all scary as others had described. The driver was courteous and even chatted with the kids for a bit. Drop off to get the tubes and enter the river was quick and easy. The float was so nice. There were definitely some fast flowing parts and some other gentle relaxing areas. Even though there were a lot of people floating we found ourselves alone for a long stretch. No overcrowding issues at all. When we arrived to our disembark spot it was an easy handoff of the rented tubes and a quick thank you from the very friendly staff and we loaded up our things and were off! I highly recommend the company, they have this dialed down to a science. Will definitely do it again! read more

Yuma river tubing was a fun experience. We're from Texas so floating the river in the summer is just an absolute must! This company has been open this season since APRIL! Wow. In Texas they dont open up until Memorial weekend so that was a super nice treat. The set up could use a bit more attention - you just have to check in with someone driving a van/has a clip board but that isnt very obvious, we actually has to ask someone if we were supposed to do anything else! Once we got that sorted it was a breeze. They drove us up the river some miles, and gave us tubes. We floated 3.5 hours for the 5 miles float. It was HOT. I suggest not forgetting sunscreen like we did. We're a bit brown but WOW did we burn, the Arizona sun doesnt play!! All in all, well worth the money we has so much fun. Decided to get the hell out of dodge out of San Diego for the weekend a few weeks ago. Found ourselves in Yuma. I had booked a Yuma float for 2 adults and 2 kids via the internet. It was easy breezy. You meet at the park and they drive you up the river, drop you off and you float down the river. I bought the gila float (5 miles float) and for the 4 of us along with a cooler float the cost was less than a 100 bucks. We floated and had the time of my life. I had brought my waterproof Bluetooth speaker and we were jamming. Make sure you bring plenty of drinks/snacks and sunscreen because when we went it was something like 10,000 degrees. Be sure to either have your drivers license or keys to hand over to the employees. That is just to assure them you are bringing their floats back. Anyway, had a great time! Thank you!!! read more

River floating with your friends and snacks on a hot day is a lot of fun; however, going with this shady band of misfits, will put a damper on it. First off, there is a sign for the river rafting company at the EXIT of the small lot closest to the boat launch at West Wetlands Park. If that lot is full, park across the way at the fishing pond: there is a useless employee that wont tell you that, but instead watch you drive around the lot when he can look up from his phone. Next, walk over to the unhappy looking lady under the tree, who will collect your license, check you off her spiral notebook, and lecture you about their late policy, "if you are even ONE minute late and limping with a sprained ankle, we will charge you another full day." Now, I felt she highlighted this policy bc we were a group of 20 that would tie our floats together and slow ourselves down, ensuring us missing our time. She could have warned us, but then she wouldnt have made extra money off us. Mind you, there are no life jackets for kids as stated on their website and Im sure half our group didnt fill out their waivers as that probably couldnt be checked off in a spiral notebook. Then, make sure your life insurance is paid up, because you get to ride in basically a kidnapper van. The driver seems to go off roading at a fast clip (FYI: not all the seat belts work) and then before you roast from no a/c, you are there. Finally, in the water beating the AZ heat! Good friends, good munchies, good times; until the last mile. The last mile or so, felt like it wasnt moving at all, so we all walked and pulled the floats along: very much like the Bataan Death March. When you get to the end, the mean lady kindly barks that 15min is late, and we'll be charged another full day. If you have a good group of friends, you will have a good time in spite of paying to be an inconvenience to this business. Best advice:: buy floats and do it yourself. read more

I just recently learned about river tubing in Yuma, and as soon as I did, I booked a weekend trip for us and our daughters. We had a great time! The weather was perfect for tubing (about 105 degrees). We floated, talked, enjoyed some snacks and drinks, and really enjoyed our afternoon. Minus one star for service - not super friendly. In fact, my husband nicknamed his driver "Bob, the serial killer" - he was kind of creepy, and didn't say a word - not even the important info, like how to know where to get out of the river. But overall great trip. I echo the tips to bring: lots of water, drinks, snacks, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, maybe rash guard or other sun protection; maybe some music or waterproof game. PS: In true "small world" fashion, the hairdresser who told me about the tubing a month ago in San Diego happened to be sitting right next to me on the van to the drop-off spot. read more

Fun float trip. But be prepared to take a 20 min ride in a van with blown out suspension & NO air conditioning. Yes 114 degrees & no air conditioner in a van packed with 8 people. Then go about 70 miles an hour down a dirt road next to a canal. The drivers don't speak English, tell you nothing about your trip, and can't answer any questions. The lady that takes your ID & rounds you up in the end is SUPER rude & hates her job. Other than that fun float with friends... took us about 5 1/2 hours. Stopped a couple times to make cocktails etc.. I do NOT like to give 1 star reviews. But the lady was so rude to us & our friends, I had to do it. read more

An amazing few hours of lazy river adventures. A few recommendations. Bring some pieces of rope to tie your tubes together. Wear a wide brim hat and long sleeve swim shirt...sunscreen is great, but any exposed skin will still burn. Bring a towel to get wet and cover your legs. Wear water shoes...most of the way is shallow and you can walk. Buy the water tight gear bag at Walmart for $12 for dry food/snacks/phones when not in use so they do not fall into the water. Of you bring your own tunes, bring a battery powered air pump (to put in your dry bag when finished)...hand pumps suck in 100 degree heat. Freeze water bottles as ice for cooler so you also have ice water later when needed. Bring white (ideal color...any work) umbrellas for older folk to protect from sun. Also, for first timers...your car is parked in the same parking lot when you got in the vans as the ending of the tubing river exit...you just need to walk up the boat ramp to the parking lot. One group thought they were somewhere else and argued they needed to be driven to their cars. Lastly...start moving to the left bank as soon as you see the slow wake sign at the end, water gets deep and current gets super fast immediately beyond that point...you will get swept downstream if you miss it. Came here on 9/3/17 during a Labor Day break in Yuma. I booked about 2 weeks in advance for the Gila (5-mile) option. We chose the earliest time slot (9am) as we didn't want to burn in the Arizona heat (actually ended up being mostly overcast and eventually raining). This is only my 2nd time river tubing but I found this to be nothing close to my first experience. I'm going to list my concerns and hopefully that will help others decide whether you want to try it. A couple concerns are not at fault of the company but it can still affect your experience. 1- Tubes are NOT sealed on the bottom, you can't fall through but water WILL come in so be prepared to sit in water the entire journey. 2- Oars are not provided, probably too big for these tubes anyway but I think something should be provided to help navigate in the water. We kept drifting towards the sides and had to paddle (with our hands) pretty often to avoid eating greenery. 3- There was hardly any current during our experience so we moved extremely slow. If you are on a strict time frame like we were I would suggest you think twice before booking. It was supposed to take 3.5hours to reach the end but we were still about 1.5miles out after 3.5hrs. I spent much of the journey in the water pulling the tubes to try and save time. I think if I didn't get in the water to pull it might have taken 6hours to reach the end. Again, this only matters if you don't have the full day to spare. 4- I really wish there was signage along the way or at the VERY least at the end to let you know you're almost there. The owner said the city won't let them which is unfortunate. We were worried that we had floated past the finish line since the river seems endless. 5- There was NOBODY else floating down the river during the entire 5miles for us, even though it was peaceful I was a little worried if something happened and nobody was around to help. We passed a few people chilling on the banks but for the majority it was just us. Owner said they were fully booked but I guess that was for other timeslots because there was nobody else at 9am. 6- The waiver said that lifejackets would be provided, we were not given any. I'll end this on a good note.....despite what others have said about the lady owner, we did not experience any issues with her. She was friendly and informative, even gave us rope to tie our tubes together. read more
