The trio roll and austin fc roll were both delicious. The trio roll had no flavor, as it had 3 different sashimis, but was perfect with soy sauce and wasabi. The austin fc roll came with eel sauce and their house sauce, it was good on it's own. We were starving by the time the food came, since it did take a while as it was crowded.....like every seat in the house was taken! Dinner is izakaya style which is basically tapas or smaller/shareable plates vs entree style dishes. Lunch menu has more options, including bento boxes which we'll have to try next time! Our server was attentive and nice. Overall, definitely recommend. It is more on the pricier side, but it is worth it. Only thing I would do different is bringing a jacket. The breading tasted nearly burnt dry and banding in the meat (see my photo) shows how it was separating from being cooked too long. The curry is as disappointing as their sister restaurant. It's weak enough that I'd venture I could produce a better curry in bulk. Their menu also changes between lunch and dinner so it's possible other non sushi options are better. So do come here and enjoy the sushi, but don't venture into the other menu items. They'd really shine by focusing on a core menu with less accompanying dishes.

The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Not your miso soup and ginger salad bento boxes, though. You won't find sushi rolls and pickled ginger. But it's a dinner in a box with rice, veggies, a choice of protein, you pick one of five sauces, and you have a choice of adding curry for $2. Add the curry! It's a Japanese golden curry. Yum. It's basically gravy. A very tasty gravy. And who doesn't like rice and gravy?! Can they get away with calling this a bento box? A cardboard box with no California roll and no miso? Why, yes, actually! Bento boxes are originally designed to be meals on the go. It's the kind of meal you buy in Japan for a train ride. And this definitely fits the bill. Portions are healthy. The rice was moist and well-seasoned. The broccoli was tender-crisp. The curry came in a separate container so you can add as much or as little as you want (we added it all). We had one chicken dish and one beef dish. The chicken is fried and the beef is braised and shredded, with strips of onion. They were both tastey, and both were designed for quick service from a food truck. Despite the line ahead of us, our meal came quickly. It was a cold night so we ate in our car, parked on the street. But it's a quiet, street and they had picnic tables we could have used if we'd brought ticket coats for the 40 degree, breezy night. Next time I'll check the weather report before leaving the house!
