Good Japanese food overall. The server told us the Katsu is not spicy, so we ordered for my son, it turned out to be really spicy. Just don't order it if you don't want anything spicy. Service was nice and good overall other than knowing if a dish is spicy or not. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Weather is really nice to sit outside. Will be back to try other dishes.

Still one of our favorite sushi places in ATX. Fish is super fresh, served in large portions. Tried a few different rolls this time ad well, also delicious. Desserts are also fabulous! Service was solid, once we got things rolling! Highly recommended for sushi!

Came with a group and had the place to ourselves! What we got in order of most to least favorite: -super deluxe-tokujo- depending on your likes you'll range from loves to hates but it's a good mix of what they've got! -sake aburi -Sake toro diablo -BE toro- toro hagashi was unavailable -Ozzie ii -Big southern -veggie tempura- maybe I'm just not a tempura fan anymore? -Toro taku handroll- the pickled radish was just a little too much Service was fantastic. It's just hard to give a 5 with so many good sushi competitors in town!

I came to Musashino around 6 months ago, and really enjoyed the food, but my recent visit fell flat. We opted to sit outside to avoid an hour long wait, but the service was especially slow and they barely checked in on us throughout the meal. Normally it's not a big deal, but we were getting bit intensely by mosquitoes outside (so be aware if you dine outdoors in the summer). Onto the food, we ordered the age tofu that was pretty solid - a nice shareable dish. The super deluxe set was a bit disappointing. There was just too much rice, and the texture was very grainy and almost undercooked. The fish was ok, not as good as I remember and some pieces were very chewy. I think this could a be solid sushi restaurant if they were more consistent in their quality, and either hired more staff or made sure to check in more frequently.

A cute place - intimate and private-ish. The bar is in the middle of the restaurant so the tables circle around it. But I have to talk about the food: The ROAD RUNNER ROLL. The squid ink rice & habanero caviar was perfect! Definitely would recommend this roll! Downside, at the time we visited, they did not have chirashi or serving omakase. So call ahead if there's something you would like! 8/10 - cool vibe, delicious sushi

FYI for first time visitors, the restaurant is hard to locate as their is no signage pointing to where it is. It is located upstairs in the middle of the complex. I came with a group of friends and we made reservations online a week ahead for a Saturday. I believe they only take reservations if your group is over a certain amount. Beware of the strong pungent fishy smell when you walk in...it hit us right in the face. It subsided as we reached our table. The fish quality is pretty decent, they give large slices of sashimi than most places but the prices are a little above average. I got the deluxe combo that came with 10 pieces and a roll. I thought it was a decently priced. A few of us thought the ratio of rice with the sashimi was too much. We ordered a few appetizers, the tempura was excellent and chicken karage solid. I ordered a Tequila Daisy and it was a tad bit watered down, I tasted more of the Chambord and less of the tequila...not something I would order again IMO. I'll try a different cocktail on my next visit to see if anything tickles my fancy.

Awesome place hidden on the second floor of a shopping plaza. There is more parking in the parking garage behind the building. Definitely recommend making a reservation although you can join the Yelp waitlist. We joined the waitlist and arrived around 7:45pm on a Saturday night and got a drink at the bar while we waited (about 20 min at the bar, maybe 40 min total for 2 people). There is ample seating on the patio and indoors. It is very cute with tasteful decor. Our server Ashley was great and recommended some dishes. We got the Sushi Sashimi Combo, Texas Road Kill Tuna Roll, Shima Zushi, Suicide Salmon, and a Bluefin Tuna fatty version that our server recommended. Everything was so fresh and melt in your mouth. The quality of the food is superb, staff service is great, and you definitely get what you pay for. Absolutely recommend trying this spot and cannot wait to return!

Lots of fried appetizers- Shrimp Tempura Appetizer, Tempura Spider,Chicken Tori Kara Age

I loved our Musashino dinner and would have given five stars BUT the reservation system was not desirable! They wanted $10 deposit per person before you can make a reservation. We ended up walking in which worked out just fine! We will be back for sure because my sushi deluxe was delicious- great value for 7 pieces of fresh sushi and 3 pieces of spicy salmon served with salad and soup! It was very quiet when we came in at 530pm but filled up around 7pm. It was hopping on a Friday night! Our service was friendly even when Grace was serving many tables in a busy night! They have a dog friendly patio! We've always sat at their outdoor patio because of our pup. And it was perfect Al fresco weather last night. I finally got to check out the inside of the restaurant and it was nice and cozy in there. I might have to dine inside on our next visit!

Finally made it here and barely had to wait for a table! First things first, this place is hard to find. No signage showing it's upstairs in this complex so a little weird. We started with the gyoza and the Champs sashimi with salmon. Sashimi was delicious, especially with the jalapeño soy sauce. We then got the Texas Roadkill which was so. Damn. Good. Then had the Ozzy roll which was also very tasty, and lastly ended with the negitoro roll - simple and delicious. As for Nigiri, the seared albacore was melt in your mouth good. Can't wait to come back and try some more!

Great sushi spot near UT Austin! What we ordered (from favorite to least favorite): Evel Knievel Roll ($17) - Salmon, avocado, cucumber, seaweed, ooba leaf & lemon zest Toro Taku ($10) - Fatty tuna roll with pickled radish Elvis Roll ($17) - Tuna, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, seaweed & lettuce Great ambiance and staff, only complaint is our food was quite slow to come out (we did go on a Friday night). A little pricey, and not the best sushi I've ever had, but definitely a great spot!

The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!

What looked like a traditional milk toast dessert, was literally four pieces of stale bread, toasted and stacked on top of each other. that tasted freezer burnt with lots of sauce on top. No topping between each layer so it was not flavorful or tasty and all you could taste was a weird chemical flavor from the bread. Same thing with the ice cream, so freezer burnt that it tasted of chemicals, cardboard, and didn't even melt despite sitting on the plate for 15+ minutes. The Taro tea itself was fine with the crème brûlée topping, but the brown sugar Boba had the same chemical "going bad" flavor to it. It was super hard and bitter tasting instead of sweet. I asked for a recommendation as a first time and was told I have to try the original to start. Service seemed friendly but felt a little rushed for me to hurry up. Cheesecake Biscotti - from my small slice, I was impressed. It's an airy cookie that's baked to a crispy finish. The exterior is crispy but the inside is fluffy, it's a fun texture that simply feels remarkable. Plus the overall cheesecake flavor is a delightful sweetness. Matcha Cheesecake - I was impressed with the softness. The small sample was so light yet ready to fall from the toothpick at any moment. It was just so delicate. Matcha was present though it's hard to say how strong from a quick sample so I'll reserve on that. Original Cheesecake - now for the real experience, it's no exaggeration to say that this quite literally melts in your mouth. It's almost like the cake simply dissolves, leaving a cheesecake flavor behind. Super fluffy, light, and airy, the cheesecake is delicate and when you eat it, your taste buds light up as if a spotlight is emphasizing the presentation. Fantastic end to any meal as well, especially because it's not heavy at all.
