We love YUMM! The atmosphere both inside and on the patio is very nice. When busy, they do enforce a strict 90 min limit, which does make the meal feel a bit rushed. Particularly whenever the service is slow. But that is the only complaint. Otherwise, this is a great spot! Service is always friendly and helpful. Food is outstanding. We love their appetizers like the firecracker shrimp. It's a small amount but very good. We also love many of the main dishes, particularly the three flavors catfish! The sauce that comes on this dish is crazy good. Their sushi is also top notch. We enjoyed the salmon crave and New Orleans rolls last night. Very fresh and both unique. They offer different specials and fun cocktails. The Bird's Eye View is our favorite drink. It is light and balanced with a very subtle heat component. Highly recommend this place! read more

This place is about a 4.6, so I gave it a 5-star. The only thing holding this place back is the price. It is pricey. Over $50 for two people for lunch was a bit extreme. But, the place is amazing on the inside, super clean and inviting. The server was great, super knowledgeable and stayed on top of everything. The food was outstanding! The Kamakazie roll was one of the best rolls I have eaten, anywhere, including Japan. The chicken noodle bowl was good, but it needed a little bit more flavor. The basil stir fry was very good. Overall, great experience. We will just have to come less often due to the prices, but we will return! read more

We don't live in the area, but we have been to this restaurant once before. On that occasion the food was very good. However, I am very disappointed to that have to write a bad review about this restaurant. We both had the same thing we had the first time we went to the restaurant, and this time the food was not the same. I ordered sashimi, and the pieces were cut paper thin...I could almost see through them. My husband ordered spicy basil chicken and said it wasn't the same as before or at the other restaurants where he has had it. He said the flavor was definitely off. We don't get to Florence very often, but I doubt the next time we come we will try it. It's a shame because the first time everything was "spot on." read more

After hearing countless raves about this restaurant my boys took us out for my Birthday dinner here. The ambiance and decor are very bougie for an Asian style Restaurant, you can tell it's a higher end restaurant as soon as you walk into it. It's a very nice place, seating is the typical table with chairs on one side and a bench along the wall with close quarters to your neighbors at the seating next to you. As soon as we were seated our waitress approached the and told us what the monthly special was and asked us if we wanted a drink. We ordered cocktails and placed an order for appetizers. We got the steamed pot stickers, which were just average, nothing to write home about. We also got an order of the fried green beans, these were outstanding! Our main courses were the chicken lettuce wraps, which were delicious. We also got an Ocean 7 roll, Red Planet roll and a Cajun roll. The rolls are pretty good size, 8 pieces per roll but a bit pricey at about $18 each. I was a bit perplexed by the fact that they use jicama in the rolls, never had sushi with jicama in it before, not sure if this is a cost saving thing or a bougie thing. Over all it was good, but a bit pricey, not a restaurant we would go to on a regular basis but more for special occasions. read more

Ridiculously small portions of sushi. My salmon sashimi was cut razor thin...it was probably 20 calories. I have never seen such tiny portions of sushi at any restaurant. The portions were so small that I had to order more food near the end of my meal but my server (who was very sweet but sparse) did not check on us until almost closing time. When I tried to order more food, the sushi chefs declined to make it because they were "almost" closed. Of course, they were still open. They just didn't want to make it. I have never dined anywhere they limit the time for dining, especially when you are purchasing appetizers, drinks, main courses and deserts. Delicious! It was so difficult for my friend and I to pick our entrees because everything listed sounded great. I went with a can't beat it standby of shrimp pad Thai and was not disappointed. It was excellent. I almost made myself sick because I ate so much of it. It was JUST. SO. GOOD. I don't remember what friend got. She went with something with a bit of spice to it. It had slices of jalapeños in it. She said it was great. And we had a starter of some fantastic spring rolls. I don't live in the Shoals any longer but visit quite often to see family. Wow.....first time at Yumm and it certainly won't be our last. Our college son loves this place so we went looking for Thai food and it was awesome. Started with the fried green beans which were accompanied by a spicy aoli, a cold beer and a Fuji Apple Martini for my wife. The beans were crispy and delicious and the sauce made them perfect. My wife ordered the Pad Thai noodles and I had the Spicy Noodles. The Pad Thai was delicious. Just what was expected. My Spicy Noodles were so good I invision craving them again soon. A blend of tender beef, onion, mushrooms, broccoli and red and jalapeño pepper slices. So good I ate every bite. Can't convey how much I enjoyed it. My wife followed the Martini with another called the Lychee. Not either of our favorites but since everything else was perfect, no knocks here! My wife had about half her Pad Thai left so we boxed it to take to our son BUT we accidentally left it on the table. Our fantastic waiter saw me in the lobby and flagged me down to make sure we decided to leave it (which we hadn't). So appreciated him going above and beyond to cap off a perfect service! I was in Florence for Shoalsfest a couple of weekends ago. We were craving sushi and honestly there weren't too many sushi options to pick from, and we ended up finding this spot! This is definitely one of the nicer restaurants in Florence from what I could tell from my time there. The decor was gorgeous and the staff were all very friendly and gave us great recommendations. I ended up getting the bubba gump roll (which was delicious) and a spicy margarita. The food and the drink were both great but my one complaint was it was a little pricey for what it was. Probably the best meal I've had while visiting Florence Alabama. I got the Panang Curry and my gf got the New Orleans roll and the California roll. Appetizers were the Pot stickers and the spring rolls. The new Orleans roll was underwhelming but overall a Fantastic meal. Service was quick and the bartender was helpful and Attentive. We visited Yumm on 6/9/2025 and our experience could not have been any better! Busy time during late afternoon rush but we had the most amazing waitress named Melinda. She said she was fairly new, however you would have never known. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and answered every question we had. She brought our drinks and appetizers fairly quickly and kept our tea and water filled. Our dinner was exactly as ordered and was delicious. Melinda was very attentive to the four of us although she had a table of 10 at the same time. We plan to visit again and will be requesting Melinda again. read more

Their fried catfish was absolutely fantastic. I'm not a fan of oysters but their fried oysters were delicious ! My momma's favorite was their wasabi crusted filet mignon. To be honest that fried vegetable thing the filet mignon came with was disgusting with like a pound of salt in it but the steak is A+. We got it medium cookness and it was closer to medium rare which was perfect for us. Wonton soup was solid. Cocktails were okay, I recommend straight liquor on the rocks. This restaurant is really expensive ($140 for 2 folks) for a regular night out dinner but good for once in a while ! read more

Next time, I would ask the server what they do best, as we did not have as great an experience as others. Our lettuce wrap appetizer was great -- highly flavorful and well-spiced. Our 2 entrees were not. Only the basil was flavorful in the Soucy Basil Chicken, and the pad Thai was missing all of the great complexity of flavors that make pad Thai a classic dish. In both, the protein (chicken) appeared to be added as an afterthought and was unseasoned. However, other dishes at the surrounding tables looked more appetizing, so I would try again, but not those dishes. read more

If you are looking for Thai with a smooth ambiance, I recommend this place. We started with the spring rolls. I personally thought the portion was a little on the small side but the main made up for it. I had the beef curry (extra extra spicy) and requested they add pineapple to the entrée. Let me tell you how good it was. I stopped having a conversation and ate and ate. The wait staff, Emory (sorry if I spelled it wrong) is absolutely awesome! She is the reason for the 5th star! Sushi here is really small and you don't get very much for your money. And to further clarify, the slices of fish are cut so thin ... it's as then as humanly possible to cut it. Any thinner and it wouldn't be there, you would just have to use your imagination. Any other sushi serving restaurant in town would be much better. Haven't tried their cooked dishes, in that I ruled this place off my list based and my sushi experience and don't want to waste any more money on this place. read more
