Coalesce, a unique name which means "...to come together to form one", is an attempt to break away from the corporate food service venue from which they both come, to work together as a family business. They both have many talents based on decades of dining and hospitality experience, from management on down. You will easily notice, if you pay attention. It is the thoughtfulness and subtle upgrades they have put into this restaurant that sets them apart from many first time Mom and Pop restaurants. The café is newly, tastefully remodeled, impeccably clean, spacious, bright and airy, and welcoming. The menu is quite extensive and what we tasted was very good. Prior to this, this location was a Mexican seafood restaurant. They've kept some of the traditional dishes, including seafood favorites, then threw in their own American comfort food offerings as well. Something for everyone. Their chile verde with pork is what I chose, served as a nacho dish. This, after tasting a sample of the sauce, was a nice surprise, one of the better ones I've tasted, without the lip swelling hotness that I fear. Next time, I would skip the nacho version and go for the entree instead. Mr.B elected to get garlic shrimp, an excellent choice. Fresh, buttery, very garlicky, deveined with the shell still on, and beautifully sized shrimp. It came with traditional Spanish rice and refried beans. He really enjoyed it. You would be surprised to know that the chef, Dexter, is actually a Georgia transplant who lost his drawl and would rather not cook Southern food in spite of being under his loving Grandmother's tutaledge growing up. His past experience as an executive chef is well noted. Their portions are big, prices are very reasonable. A great family dining opportunity here. They are currently offering a family special on Thursdays between 4 and 8 pm where kids 12 and under eat for free. There is also a Seniors' menu. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and stay open extra late some nights. For an extra good time, come on Karaoke nights, Friday through Sunday. The crooning begins at 6 pm and continues until closing: Midnight for Fridays and Saturdays, 11 pm on Sunday. They serve beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages.

Clean and recently opened this year. Dexter's service was great. highlight for me, Competitive pricing! My only suggestion would be to cool down the place. Was pretty warm in the building

Our latest visit yesterday was still overall a very positive experience. Much to our delight, their buckwheat pancakes are still the best pancakes EVER (imho). These pancakes are the reason why we come to Teddy Bear every time. Something about the flavor and texture just makes them stand out. In fact, we no longer order pancakes anywhere else. Corn beef hash and pastrami hash are still so very flavorful and satisfying. The cinnamon cornbread is still good. Coffee might seem a little weak for some (like my husband) but good enough for me. Our server was super busy so service was understandably a tad slow but decidedly adequate.

Came here on a Saturday for lunch and we were seated right away! Cons: We were not expecting this place to be cash only! The chairs were uncomfortable and the bathrooms are not nice. Their soda machine wasn't working and they didn't offer iced coffee (although they did give us hot coffee and a cup of ice). Their Ceaser salad had way too much dressing to the point where it was soggy! Overall it was an alright place for our weekend getaway lunch. But we would not eat here again.

Very small restaurant so highly recommend getting a reservation. We tried many items from the menu. I really liked the steak tartare which tasted of truffle and loved that they had different things to add on top as well. It was really good steak and not at all chewy. The soup du jour was a creamy caramelized onion soup which was decadent and so good. For my entree I got the seafood pot which I liked but wasn't obsessed with. The curry was very thin and the seafood felt a bit overcooked for me. But the taste was good, just wish the curry was a thicker paste than a liquid soup texture. My family all loved their entrees and said the quality of their various steak dishes was remarkable. The waitress was so kind as well. Would love to come back next time I'm in town!

Stone Creek Bistro is the premier dining destination in Lake Arrowhead. I learned from their…read morewebsite that the bistro was established in 2013 and their menu is moderately priced with a mix of Southern American comfort food and traditional French bistro cuisine created with passion by Chef Sam Perry. Reservations are recommended before visiting. There is limited parking along State Highway 189, so plan accordingly especially during peak hours. I started my meal with a craft beer and a half order of the Grilled Caesar. There are a number of quality starters and entrees to choose from but after asking for a recommendation from our server, I settled on the Spicy Thai Basil Spaghetti. I also was fortunate to have the opportunity to try the steak Tartare. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and well-crafted with fresh ingredients, and it made for an overall great meal. The ambience is cozy and the staff is also attentive. It's no wonder Stone Creek Bistro is so popular! I'll def be back the next time I'm in Arrowhead.

Suggestions: for the nightly specials on the white grease boards in the lobby and bar areas, please list the PRICES next to the assorted specials......Or, make up printed hand-outs to give to the guests as they are seated, as no one wants to have the server go thru each one by one to get that info. Suggestion #2: have a set soup for each day of the week, so that we customers don't have to call up and ask each night to find out what's what. For Example: Wed......chicken Noodle, Thursday......split pea,......Friday....clam chowder......Sat.....beef barley......Sunday.....abondigos..... .

We started with the appetizer sampler--wings, cheese curds, loaded potato skins, and stuffed jalapeño shrimp--all great for sharing and very well done. For entrées, the rib sandwich with onion rings and the smashed burger with fries were both outstanding. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and generously portioned, with the rib sandwich being especially memorable and something I'd definitely order again. SERVICE: Service was generally solid, though one drink server stood out for being noticeably unfriendly and not acknowledging us when spoken to or thanked. It was a small moment, but it contrasted with the otherwise pleasant staff. VALUE: Overall, the quality and portion sizes make it a good sit-down value. The only drawback was the $0.50 ranch charge--not about the cost, but the principle. When a meal for two is already around $90, itemizing something as small as ranch feels unnecessary and slightly detracts from the value perception. ATMOSPHERE: The dining area we were seated in had a couple of minor issues. The lighting was quite dim with some glare from overhead fixtures, making it a bit uncomfortable at times. It was also warmer than ideal during our meal, to the point that other guests commented on it, though the temperature improved once the air conditioning was adjusted. OVERALL IMPRESSION: Despite a few small issues, Hickory Ranch remains a consistent favorite. The food is the standout and the main reason we'll continue coming back.
