I love a great Italian sub and, for my first visit, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop did not disappoint. I ordered a Classic Italian with everything except the relish. It was good - like homemade. The bread was just okay. It doesn't hold up very well when you have oil and vinegar though. However, all the veggies were really fresh and crunchy. Capriotti's is located on Moreno Beach Dr. just south of the 60 freeway in Moreno Valley. Look for El Pollo Loco and Ono's Hawaiian BBQ. Overall, decent sandwich shop. Hubby and I had never been to Capriotti's because we thought they were expensive subways, well we were wrong, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the inside is very nicely decorated and super clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted by Ms. Jaclyn, she was very nice, friendly and personable, my hubby ordered a small Italian and I ordered a mini French dip, the young man preparing the subs was super fast and we were in and out in about 5 minutes, when we got home I started to put our plates together and saw the receipt, I'm just a little concerned that we were charged a Food/Non-Alc tax on top of state tax, which I've never seen anywhere else. They don't properly refrigerate the food and I think they sell SPOILED products? After I ate my late night 12:00 am had a small 3" piece and within an hour had to go number 2 twice? Earlier it did the same thing but it was worse at Midnight the "RUNS" and I threw out the other half of my terrible with awful health issues. It gave me cramps until I went to relieve myself. I ordered food here for the first time and did a pickup to eat at home. One of the sandwiches (The Hot Bobbie) I ordered had meat that was so dry it actually scratched my throat when I swallowed. I even thought I might've swallowed a small bone shard because of how rough it was. When I opened the sandwich, the meat looked and felt like jerky but dryer (even jerky has more moisture then the quality of the meat I had) definitely not freshly made, more like it had been sitting out for a while. I called the shop right away to let them know, and the shift lead told me "that's just how our meat is" and suggested maybe adding ranch next time. You should not need any sauce to remoisturize dry meat you're purposely serving customers! It was supposed to have mayo and that was not on the sandwich either which i doubt would have helped the dryness. When I mentioned that I wasn't local and had picture proof, I was told the only way to get a refund or replacement was to drive all the way back. That's really disappointing as a first time customer. Wow, Capriotti's is honestly so good! Gave them a try through a deal they had for signing up for rewards and glad I gave them a chance. There cold sandwiches are good but I feel like their warm sandwiches are where they really hit it out of the park. Their cheese steaks are great and have a ton of different options so you can get it just the way you like it. Trying it for the first time got there at about noon on Sunday. There were people in the lobby eating we ordered the American wagyu cheesesteak. 18 inch my wife and I wanted the same one so we figured we'd split it. The staff is very friendly and even split a sandwich in half for us. They put peppers on the side and upon receiving our food that was a little bit of a wait, not bad. The bread was very tender and soft. The meat was very welcome and very tender. It was juicy and tasty. After doctors appointments, we were looking for a good sub sandwich. We looked up some sandwich shops nearby and Capriotti's sandwich shop popped up. I had heard of it, but I can't say I've ever been to one. My husband and I got a medium Classic Club. The bread was fresh and flavorful. All the meats were fresh cut and quality. We included all the available vegetables and had it come with the dressings they put on it. It was the best sub we've had in a long time. I came here today to try their Philly cheesesteak, and unfortunately, it ended up being one of the worst sandwiches I've had. I ordered sweet peppers on my sandwich, but they tasted off -- almost rotten -- and were extremely mushy, which really ruined the flavor. The meat was also overcooked, with a lot of burnt pieces throughout, making the sandwich very dry. When I called to let the manager know, he insisted nothing was wrong with the peppers and made me feel like I was mistaken. He said they could remake the sandwich only if I brought it back with the receipt, but with Thanksgiving tomorrow, I wasn't able to return. I wasn't looking for anything unreasonable -- just to be heard -- but the interaction left me feeling dismissed. I had never heard of this place but wanted to meet a friend for lunch and she lives in Moreno Valley. Great location. Great sandwiches. Great vegetarian selection. Great portions (the small is actually HUGE!). I had the vegetarian cheesesteak and it was quite good. If you're a meat eater, however, you'll probably prefer the real thing. The location was clean but I witnessed the staff touching each other with there gloves on while making sandwiches. After a few minutes of standing near the cash register waiting for someone to help me, finally a staffer ask to take my order. I ordered a homemade Turkey without lettuce or tomato but add salami. I was told that they could not add salami to the sandwich as they can not mix meats....HUH!?! So I asked why, the cashier stated that they don't mix meats. Again, HUH!?!.... I was like okay, can you explain why, she stated that they just don't. OK!, can I have it on the side. She thought about it and agreed. So we got our order and left. Prices are alittle high but I figured if it's good tben it's worth it. Well, no it was not. It was just a sandwich with slim amount of meat on a slim bread to make it look like a lot. It's was no better than Subway which I also don't like. The bread was supper soft which made the sandwich smushy ... the ingredients were old as you can see on the Grilled Italian. The meat was no better than packaged store bought. I was extremely disappointed. I gave it a three star due to being eatable but not worth the price and since you can't get your sandwich customized it's really not worth the hassle.
