    steak frites

This place was so special! First time here visiting Lake arrowhead and read about stone creek. The food was so good - i ordered the dish that was a pot of different fish the sauce it was in was INCREDIBLE. Shrimp and grits were good. My husband got steak frites. the chef specializes in new orleans style food and thai and everything was so tasty. They do not have hard alcohol. i got a champagne drink 6/10 and pivoted to wine which was great. This place was fantastic!!!

Braised short ribs. Orecchiette pasta. Both excellent!

Second visit was a joke, service was super slow. So we waited an hour for our food and prime rib came out cold. Second one was comically bad. Then they lost my credit card for about 10 minutes. One of the patrons found it under their table. They comped our drinks and dessert, never going back. Too many great restaurants nearby that have great service and nice decor. It's too bad. The food is amazing when served hot.

Super cute restaurant located in Blue Jay! There's limited parking in front of the restaurant but you can park across the street (all free). Set menu but they do have daily specials and daily soups. All of their soups are DELICIOUS!! The tomato bisque soup and mushroom soup are both amazing! Their duck fat fries are also incredible = A must order! Brussels Sprouts are also super tasty! Steak Tartare is meh = a bit pungent! I wouldn't order it again. I would get the Steak Frites though! Pastas are also good! Their Menu is an eclectic mix of American, Italian and some Asian. There's a lot of Vegetarian options! They also have a variety of desserts. Service is outstanding! Everyone is so nice! They also have a bar but I prefer the tables. Tip: Call and make a reservation! (No online reservations it's phone only).

Nothing short of amazing! Our second time coming here recommended by our Airbnb hosts. Super dog friendly and the food is just as delicious the first time we had it. One year apart. Service was friendly and quick. Not once did we have to ask for anything they just knew what to do!

We had a nice dinner here on our last night in Lake Arrowhead. I was able to make reservations, and we requested the outdoor patio which was really nice because it had a fire in the middle of the table, very unique. They have excellent service, especially from Jade, he was very accommodating and made sure we our spot available by the time we arrived. What we ordered: Cheesy bread for our appetizer: Focaccia, marinara basil ranch $13 Cheeseburger: Double stack, American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomato, pickle, caramelized onions, fancy sauce, and duck fat fries $18 Steak Frites: New York Strip, hotel butter, served with duck fat fries $36 Everything was delicious and we even had left over steak to eat for breakfast the next day with some fried rice, yummm. Would recommend this place for great service and food.

It was our first time, this place came highly recommend from some locals at sunsets and was spoke of on our boat tour as well the next day. Brianna and 'Momma' were so sweet! The ambiance is very quaint. Dining room is full of little tables, so look forward to making friends with the people next to you. The pork belly dish was absolute perfection . Beet salad has amazing flavor and texture and the whipped cheese at the bottom added some nice sweetness. Braised short rib, you can't go wrong! I also got the orecchiette, the homemade sausage was absolutely amazing! You can tell they put their heart into it! We will be back next time we go up the mountain!

We had a reservation for 6:45pm on a Saturday and it was packed, but we were seated as soon as staff saw us. We started with a bottle of Moscato, mushroom toast, and duck fat fries. They were delicious. For our main dishes I had a the small mussels plate as an entree (with extra bread and butter) and my boyfriend had the caesar salad with grilled chicken. Both dishes were fantastic. We loved our server. She was very kind and accommodating. The space was warm on a cold windy evening and very comfortable. I love that they have pride flags inside and out. We will definitely be back!

Very cute, quaint restaurant. The staff is super friendly! Food was decent, the duck was pretty salty, but the texture was perfect.

A few notable things. Excellent labeling of gluten free on the menu, and, when needed, the waitress answered ingredient questions. Food tasted delicious. Our party had the duck confit, the short ribs, and the beet salad. Crème brûlée was slightly not set and almost scrambled. Could have been better. Wine was nicely priced to order a couple of glasses. A bit annoying to call / email for reservations in this day and age, but response time was great via email and reservation went great.

This is my hands down favorite restaurant in SoCal! And it's evolved more fondly over time as our dining party changed. It was fantastic for date nights and drinking, their wine selections with recommendations is fantastic with fantastic methods of keeping the wine "fresh" with every serving. High tech! Very accommodating for food sensitivities when I was pregnant and going through treatment, their vegetarian options are amazing. Honestly ALL their items (we've tried them all, even the discontinued duck confit which I still dream about often), are amazing and so creative in flavors/plating. The bistro must love children, because when I made my reservation via email (SO EASY) to include our child in our party a high chair, crayons, activity mat, and CHILD CUP were provided when we arrived. Oh my goodness this level of attention was felt! Their child meal was also incredibly delicious, for a simple dish as buttered noodles was elevated cooked in broth, seasonings, and delivered with freshly grated Parmesan. We really felt the love of a chef who is a parent that enjoys children at the table. Our daughter who's only 1, ate her plate of noodles and nearly all my husband's braised short rib because it's so incredibly tender a toddler can enjoy it. She slept for 12 hours after that meal. Our entire family loves Stone Creek Bistro and we've recommended them to all our guests who visit the mountain and reserve a meal here. The service, staff, cozy ambiance, and freshly thought out dishes are spectacular. It's a place that's perfect for date nights, get together, and family dining.

Overall I was happy with my experience at Stone Creek Bistro! We had a bigger group and they accommodated us by giving us a private area! Our server was super sweet and patient with our large group. I enjoyed my food which was the steak frites, however not everyone at the table loved what they got. It was my friend's birthday and they let her pick any dessert for free which was so nice! She picked a flourless chocolate cake that had peanut butter caramel and it was tasty!

    Lora J.

So many wonderful things to say and only one complaint about the dessert. We had the steak tartare, brussels sprouts the duck, and the short rib. We shared a bottle of wine that was exquisite, and then we tried two desserts. (One was a cupcake type thing dry and in a burnt caramel, and was WAY too salty; I would get rid of that completely or alter the recipe) but the other flourless chocolate cake was so decadent and I would say made to perfection. Absolutely remarkable place well done to the chef and staff. Looking forward to a return visit.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing dinner here and were taken care of by Brianna. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer and they were absolutely phenomenal. We were eating the sauce like soup once the mussels were gone. As an entree I chose the tomato bisque and caesar salad, both delicious. My boyfriend had the steak frites, and those duck fat fries are perfect. We came in on a Friday and were seated by the bar but still had some privacy, so the evening was great overall and the food is delicious! We will be back.

    Do you take reservations?

    Yes, they do.

    Yes

    Is this place puppy friendly?

Yes! While we were there there we two pups on the patio.

Does this restaurant have dog friendly patio?

There is patio dining but you have to walk through the restaurant to get to it. You may want to call an ask.

    Are there any vegan options?

Absolutely!...and the one I had was a handmade stuffed ravioli with a sauce straight from heaven. S-o-o-o good.

We got escargot, a salmon Benedict croissant, and a chicken crepe with mushroom. Escargot is tender, with the garlic butter it goes really well with the baguette. I've had escargot dishes across many fine dining establishments, and the dish here is also top notch. Salmon croissant has a great balance and is simply satisfying to eat. I ordered the Crepe Supreme. Generally, I'm not a big cheese lover but the cheese on this crepe is cooked very nicely and I enjoy it. The portion is pretty big too. I could've just stopped at the first piece, but couldn't help but finishing the whole thing because it is so good. I only have nice things to say about the service here because everyone is warm and friendly. Pacing is great and my coffee gets refilled promptly. It feels chill and relaxing, and no one bothers us with weird timing check-ins when we have food in our mouth. Our total comes out to $70 for 2 people. It's pretty cheap comparing to what we normally have in LA.

There's indoor and outdoor seating. I sat outside for the view. When customers sit outside, servers are supposed to check up on them often. I know because I used to be a server. She only came out twice during the hour I was there. I wanted more napkins and was going to go inside and ask for it but I just patiently kept waiting and then finally when she came out I asked for it. At the end of my meal when I got the check, she still didn't come out, so I just went inside so I can hurry up and pay and leave because the bugs were attacking me outside. For the record, the restaurant was empty too. If it was busy, I'd understand the slow service. But it was pretty empty, like 5 tables filled, and the restaurant is big because there's indoor and outdoor seating. Also there was another older white lady (not my server) who I think might be a manager or owner, who came outside to ask the white couple sitting next to me if everything was good. It was only me and that couple sitting in the outside patio at the time because the sun had set. And after asking them she just went back inside. She never asked me how I was doing or if I needed anything. Because of that I thought she was racist but that's just my assumption. Either way, it was rude. I really did not like the service here as you can tell from this long review. Ambience: I found this place on yelp because I wanted to eat with a lake view. The view is cool. It's not WOWW. But there's not many lake view restaurant surprisingly in Big Bear. It sucked because the sun was setting on the left side, so it was behind the trees. So you couldn't see the sunset. However their lake view to the front and right is nice. I ate at De La Nonna yesterday, which also had a view. And their view is wayyyy better. So overall, view was nice. Not horrible. Not the best. But at least you get a view. Now onto my biggest ick of the night, which was worse than the service, and the reason why I will never return here or recommend this place to anyone.. the BUGS. Oh my GOD!! They were attacking me and even if you shoo them away they don't go away. And it was like 5 different types of bugs. This small little fruit fly looking one, this huge fly/bee size one, this small green mini grasshopper looking one. These bugs kept hitting my face as I was eating I had to keep slapping my face and use the napkins to keep waving them around to keep them away but it didn't work. One landed in my wine, one landed in my water, 2 landed in my salad, a bunch on my face and body. It was insane. I would think they would know this and put some type of outdoor bug zapper for the customers. Or bug traps or repellent. Anything to deter the bugs away. It ruined my experience and I couldn't even enjoy the view because I was too busy slapping and killing these bugs. This place has potential but it's not it. I'm just glad my salad tasted good so at least I had a satisfying meal. If my food sucked I would've been PISSED at the whole experience. I'm giving it a 2 star for the salad and decent view.

Our favorite French restaurant, Le Gourmet in Upland closed in 2024 or 2025 so we needed to find a new French place. The lamb loin in lingonberry sauce was wonderfully complex with the savory cheese complemented well by the sweet lingonberry. The escargot was perfect. The only caveat was that we tried the pastries of the day -- one was a puff pastry, forgetting the flavor/name and some kind of cake, maybe Napoleon? We did not care for the desserts at all, if I were to get another dessert I'd probably stick with the crème brulée. The bread and salty whipped butter were delicious, seemed house-made? The bread was slightly sweet and I had to hold myself back from gorging on it. Parking: Parked in a nearby garage for $20. I think there was an event going on.

We came on a sunday at 11pm, so felt like there were minimal serving staff, so food took longer than expected, but the serving staff was very nice, and attentive. Service, environment, cleanliness, cute holiday decorations, sports on TV, 4.5 out of 5 Food was more of a 3, best thing we got was the Poke nachos, loved the fried wonton chips, nice cuts of tuna, great toppings. regular fries and parmesan fries were good, standard restaurant fries Philly cheese steak was ok, meat was good, bread was too thick and chewie. Burger was ok, average meat and bread. Fish and chips were ok, nice crisp, batter not too dense, needed seasoning, very plain. Chicken wings were ok, little dry, not too much flavor. Cool for groups, lots of alcohol options, good kid options, food was average. I would come back if I was in the area, and had a large group, and wanted alcohol. Dragon egg, neutral.

I sat on the patio with my German shepherd and my Doberman. I even came inside to let the lady with green hair know that I was outside. I was completely unattended. No one came out to check on us. No one asked if we needed anything. The good news is I ordered the fish and chips and it came out a little bit cold and I was unfortunately disappointed. I really enjoyed this place. I really enjoyed the view but unfortunately the service didn't live up to the hype And by the way I still left a 22% tip I'm not that type of patron who won't leave a tip, but I was really disappointed with the service. I like to take my dogs to arrowhead village and bop around from restaurant to restaurant order a beer and a small appetizer and just explore. I really hope they get it together because the competition is very fierce out there.

I love this place. One of the only(?) French spots in the area!…read more Location/Parking: parking can be a challenge since there aren't many spots and the lot is shared with a few other establishments. Service: servers are very friendly and welcoming! They are attentive and I think most of them are family? Vibes: very chill place, good to come for a casual meal. Seating is pretty close to other parties. Food: I have been here over four times, yet every time I come I just get the French breakfast. Last time I went, the server told me I should try something different, but the French breakfast is just that good!! It comes with either one croissant or four quarters of a baguette, fruit/yogurt/granola bowl, a hot drink of choice, and fresh orange juice. The two drink combo is what gets me with this one. I usually get the hot cocoa, and it is really rich and delicious. The OJ is super fresh and not too sweet or too sour, the bread is delicious and baked well, and the fruit with yogurt has a good balance between the acidity of the fruit and the tart yogurt. Maybe I'll try something else next time I go, but man is that French Breakfast good. It's not that the food is incredible (don't get me wrong it is still so yummy), it's just such a good combination deal that I love it. I would come here once a month if I could...

We were seated right away and the lady helping us was very friendly and helpful. She recommended the le Parisien (ham and cheese) for me and le Ratatouille for my friend as he's a vegetarian. I liked my sandwich but my friend felt his sandwich was a bit oily. The sandwiches were wrapped for that reason so don't unwrap it as it will get really greasy. He kept 1/2 sandwich to go and got the vegan salad and really loved it. We also ordered the mango and peach dessert. The mango was decent but the peach fell really short, no idea what it's suppose to taste like but it was def lacking. The pomegranate soda that was recommended was tasty. Overall: felt for the price point had higher expectation for the food/dessert and it def did not meet. But the service was amazing and love the ambient. I did for a moment felt like I was in another country. For those reasons we wouldn't giving this place another try and order other things on the menu. 3.5 stars.

Our waiter could not have been nicer. I wish I could remember his name. He was so kind and eager to make our visit a good one. We started with the deep fried mushrooms which were good, but a little too heavily battered for my taste. They came with 2 dipping sauces, a spicy aoli style and an Asian chili sauce (sweet). I had the grilled salmon with lemon caper sauce. It came with your choice of 2 sides. I got the fully loaded baked potato and steamed vegetables. My meal was delicious and a large serving that I could not finish. Good value at $24. My husband got the ribeye with herb roasted potatoes and a salad. The salad was large and fresh with plenty of carrots and tomatoes. The herb roasted potatoes were delicious, but I would definitely get the fully loaded baked potato again. My husband said his ribeye was delicious and cooked exactly as he asked (medium). I had a martini which was a generous pour and the bartender even hand-stuffed some olives with blue cheese for me which was really kind as the bar was quite busy. The atmosphere was great - filled with people enjoying themselves dining, talking, and laughing. Restrooms were spacious and clean. My only complaint was that the seats were hard wood. It would be nice to have cushions of some sort, but that won't stop us from coming back for the good food & drinks, and great service at lake arrowhead sports grill and bar!

The place closes at 8pm on average (maybe a little later in the weekends), but you won't be able to watch the whole Lakers or Dodgers game. I want to comeback and try lunch but breakfast was yum.
