Thai fried rice with tofu and vegetables
    Alannah T.

I literally only have extremely good things to say about this place. We ordered take out and the food was done pretty quickly, which is always great. The service was phenomenal, everyone was really friendly. I don't think I've had such good Thai food in a while. The food was so flavorful and rich. Everything tasted fresh. We ordered chicken fried rice, tofu fried rice, vegan dragon noodles with vegetables and the green curry with tofu. Everything was very good and the portions were great as well. I don't think I've ever tried dragon noodles so I was very excited for that dish. I was not disappointed because I truly enjoyed everything. Whenever I'm in the area I will make sure to grab some food. Honestly I'm not even exaggerating when I tell you how good everything was!

Really good standard Chinese American fare, and a good value. Meat options were nicely tender and the green vegetables were plentiful

I eat here often. Food is good, but their rice is terrible. I just learned to order stuff that doesn't come with rice. It's very bland

Can't speak to the typical dining experience, but I had to share my love for this place. My partner…read moreand I took one of the cooking classes offered here today. Booking was easy online and we were provided with the menu we'd be making. Chef Jay and his staff were so friendly, and the space we cooked in was very cozy. I loved the experience of Chef Jay explaining the ingredients, helping us understand the flavors we were creating, and then getting to eat all of our delicious dishes, and of course taking home the leftovers. This event was so worth it. I would recommend this to any one of any skill level. My partner and I are by no means chefs, but our food came out perfectly. I can't wait to come back and take another class here, or stop by for dinner!

Not worth the money or the hype…read more Pandan was recommended by close friends and we love Thai and Indonesian fare so we wanted to try it. It's priced like a solid sit down restaurant one would go to and easily spend $100 for a couple or small family on appetizers and entrees. The menu is interesting and authentic. The execution for our take away meal was sub par. First, we ordered two of an appetizer (dumplings) and only one was packed in our bag (unfortunately we only noticed after we were home); it was all stuck together and ripped apart - it was unappetizing to look at but had average flavor. The other appetizer, spring rolls, was very mushy and I am not sure if made as advertised; it was listed as some shrimp rolls and some vegetable rolls, but we only got one type of roll and I don't know if there was shrimp due to the consistency of the filling. The bang bang shrimp and chicken had NO bang (heat/spice) - it's like there was no seasoning at all and again the consistency was mush; it wasn't inedible but it wasn't worth $20. We would have been much happier at a standard Chinese or Thai place versus Pandan despite its stellar reputation. I'm not sure what happened tonight. Maybe it's better to sit down and have super fresh plates hit the table versus a 15 minute drive, but, I'm not convinced. Service was excellent, apart from the missing appetizer which could be an accident, an $8 accident. Not the end of the world.

This place always intimidated me because from the outside, it just looks like someone's house. A brownstone on the corner of a busy street with plain signage. But I'm glad I tried it. And just like the outside, when you walk in, the restaurant is like walking into someone's house. Pictures of iconic Thai people are hung on the walls and above the fireplace. Trinkets and Lunar New Year decor. Small statues and figurines. It's just like home. Warm and cozy and dare I say, romantic. I MUST come back at night on Date Night. For it's age, the place is immaculate. Even behind the radiator pipes. Not a spec of dust on the floor. I got the standard Pad Thai because I like yo have a baseline. It was good. Not as saucy as I'd like but tasty nonetheless. Really cheap with the peanuts but super generous with the tofu. And I'm soooo happy they fry the tofu. Everything was fresh and the spice level was on point. Prices were good and the portion was big. I must come back! Just a word of caution it's street parking almost near the circle so spaces are sparse. Pack your patience on a weekend.

Don't be too cocky and order Thai hot because it is THAI HOT. Food and service was very good. Red curry with duck prepared spicy (not too hot even for a non spice eater like me) and another curry prepared Thai hot. They clearly know what they're doing but may be best to make it Thai medium and offer additional spices.
