Great Thai restaurant. Run by couple. Husband is chef and wife food server. We all enjoyed our dishes. Liked the dumplings, chicken satay, spring rolls and all the rice dishes. Thai inspired motif .

This place was convienently located across from Wydham Shawnee Resort, a few door from Bosco Pizza. Due to covid, they are only doing takeout. The lady took our order was super nice and helpful. I love hot sauce so she gave me 2 types (regular chili sauce and a Thai special hot sauce). We ordered 3 dishes and Thai ice teas. Typically the restaurant already add the cream/ half and half in the tea; but they actually have it on the side, which is great because I can add the amount of cream to my liking. If you never had Thai ice tea, you should try it! It's on the sweet side, but I like to add water to mine to make it less sweet. The curry dishes we ordered (yellow curry and green curry) were very tasty. The noodles were a bit greasy tho. All in all, great place for something different other than American food.

The food was absolutely mediocre. We ordered different meals from this place. The food is overpriced; it's not worth it at all. Steamed dumpling: Most standard dumplings should be steamed for 8 to 12 minutes over boiling water. We had them within 5 minutes after we placed the order. Dumpling NOT FRESHLY STEAMED. They look like reheated in a microwave and it was the most bland, and souse no taste. Fried calamari appetizer, battered in gray, and worse than the menu picture shows. Size of the pinky fingernail. Hard and chewy. And tiny, the size of a nickel, and a tiny portion served on a small plate; the sauce was watered-down duck sauce, no flavor Tom Yum Soup: we ordered one small with shrimp (+$2); extra charge, they came out with only 3 small shrimp. Another small tom yum we ordered with chicken +$2 and +$2 shrimp; they came out with nice-sized 4 shrimp and a nice amount of white chicken meat. That is an unacceptable, improper serving of the same dishes with an unequal amount of shrimp for the same-size dishes. Main dish: Crying Tiger Beef (known in Thai as Sua Rong Hai ) is an incredibly small amount of bland test beef, and it costs as much as a portion of appetiser size, for a $15 price of a main course. We love Thai food; I'm comparing it to restaurants in NY and NJ, and it was the absolute worst Thai food I have ever had. Too high prices compared to the quality and size. At the end, there was a 3% service charge for a credit card fee that was never posted anywhere, only at the cash register, until you went to the cash register to pay. That is a scam! What if I didn't have cash? Then what?! Definitely won't come here again.

We were only able to order takeout because the place is reservation-only. The owner, Kat, is very friendly and sweet. She described the philosophy driving the restaurant as a cozy place where the limited amount of tables shouldn't burden the customer experience, hence their reservation policy. It's nice to see a business prioritize guest experience over rushing out as many covers as possible. The main point is the food. We ordered Pad Thai, Pad Kra Prow, Pad Khing Soo, and Penang Curry. Thai at the Palace is both affordable and a good value. It's in an old soda fountain bar that has been creatively decorated to transport you to East Asia. One of the owners waited on us and was very kind and personable. You really felt like you were dining at someone's home. We had the curry puff and Thai spring rolls to start, followed by the Pad Preow Whan and Lard Na. Both were generous helpings with very fresh-tasting ingredients. We were going elsewhere for dessert, but would like to return to try the mango with sweet sticky rice.

Our pickup window was 30-40 minutes after our order. It was ready 15 minutes after that. The salad is not a good value at $13. And they forgot the peanut dressing which made the salad essentially valueless since we're traveling. The Pad Thai was the least attractive Pad Thai I've had in years. It was all pale color. No pops of green from onions or fresh herbs. Barely any crushed peanuts, and what was there was bellow average. And it was way spicier than it should have been given our 2 out of 10 spice request. It should have been fairly mild. The person who ordered the Pad Thai couldn't even eat it. I tried it. It was probably a 6 or 7 for most people. It tasted good btw. My son's Crispy Pork Basil Stir Fry tasted fine. But at $19, the serving size was smaller than it should have been. It was the least full entree takeout container from a Thai restaurant I can remember. My wonton noodle soup was generally good. The broth had good flavor. The pork was what you'd expect. The wontons were at best average though. We made this order through their online service. They add a convenience fee. And you're asked to leave a tip in advance. We left a 20% tip. The service and experience ended up being sub-standard. It makes me re-think my position on tipping in advance for pickup. 2 Stars
