Pretty okay Thai spot; I think it's more whitewashed for the demographic, so understandable. Sat us in the corner, couldn't even fit 4 people comfortable had to ask for a bigger table. Just awfully strange service too. Asked for spices on the side, and randomly after 10 minutes the server just takes it away for another table. Bowls weren't cleaned, had to ask two times for spoons. Menus look like they been left out in the rain, they were so ratty tatty despite the nice ambiance of the restaurant. aye here over the weekend since I live in building nearby. horrible place unlike any other Thai place I been to. pad see ew was the size of a small Togo box order even paid full price and the servers were unhelpful literally only 3 tables and they were scrambling like it was busy. they were out of seafood which you should be prepared operating a restaurant. food was 3/10 will not support again not to mention no bartender just give water and don't ask if you would like anything else. Sometimes I wish Yelp would provide a way to rate the product quality separately from the service quality. Anyone who has followed me knows I almost always include commentary on the service received. I have been in the service industry for over 30 years and know what good service is and how bad service can tube a business overnight. If I was going to review Yummy Thai's product alone, they would get five (5) stars or more! I've dined there numerous times and every time the food is excellent. The problem is with their service. It is mediocre, at best, every time I go. Last night it was less than bad! They were a little busy, but our waiter made us sit for almost 30min before coming over to us after seating! One of my dining companions actually tried to get his attention a few times and even made eye contact, but she was actually ignored. He bussed two tables and sat another two (serving one) before he finally circled back to us. Had it just been my wife and I, we would have left. That aside, here is some advice to YT. I get busy, but it takes a mere moment to acknowledge a customer and set an expectation (usually coupled with an apology) regarding when they might get to us. Ignoring a customer is 100% unacceptable. So, will we go back? Probably. But we will probably look at lunch periods when the customer volume is lower and I promise you, if the waiter we had last night is there, we will request another or leave if he is the only one. Outside of the service, I do recommend the restaurant. As I said, the food is excellent and their location in North Shore is super cool. read more

Food was delicious!! Chicken dumplings were amazing!! Freshly made and delicious sauce to dip them into. My wife had the spicy basil and I had the blistering green beans, both were really tasty and generous portions. We had an incredible waitress named Mary!! Oof. Firstly, I'd like to start by saying while it was Friday, It wasn't that busy when we walked in. The host/waiter was nice enough but after he took out order, he only came by to refill our waters. My family was served all their meals at separate times. At one point, two people at our table had their meals then three. I was the last one served my salad... 45 minutes after everyone else. To finish things off, our waiter loudly asked if we were ready to check out and announced our total to the table. That was not only rude but weird. Although there was a verbal apology, nothing was offered to make the situation any better. Flavor wise, my husband and I asked for Thai spicy and everything was extra salty vs hot... Me and my family love going to Yummy Thai! It's such a convenient location to have lunch or dinner, then enjoy the riverwalk. They have so many great food options that I end up getting two meals for myself knowing it'll also be amazing leftovers! The staff are always so great and care about each of their customers. Ambiance- great- beautiful place. Service was great as well. Spring rolls dumplings & chicken satay were all good. My pineapple fried rice was a disappointment. Service was awesome, with a little patience for the short staffed place on a Sunday night. The restaurant wasn't 100% full but they had plenty of take out orders that made the business stay busy the whole time we were dining. The ambiance was good; spacious dining area, music was at decent volume and the decor was minimal but is cute! Minimalist/whimsical/relaxed setting. The dishes we ordered, I had mixed feelings, some dishes could have a little more pick me up seasoning and some were spot on perfect. Yummy Thai is our favorite restaurant in Chattanooga. We go there at least twice a week, and once we went four times. It's just great. If you want to eat light and healthy, they have some good soups, like my favorite soup on the planet, Tom Yum Goong. It's a shrimp lemon grass soup that is as spicy as you want it to be. I like it Thai hot, but it's quite good at lower spice levels as well. It goes for around six bucks, and you can add rice for three more. It makes a nice light meal. Truth be told, my wife and I split the rice, and take home another dish. The service is quite good, if there's not an unexpected rush. The place is relatively new, and as such they have the typical struggles with establishing norms as they grow, and they are really starting to catch on. While they are undiscovered, around 5:30 or 6:00, we can always walk in and get seating. Some of my favorite dishes (other than the soup): Pad Woosen, anything with shrimp (for some reason, lots of people in Chattanooga overcook it or don't get it fresh... it's always perfect here), the Mango Sticky Rice... my mouth is watering just writing about it. We love the ownership, and are so glad they expanded on their highly successful food truck business. (Did they win an award or something? I can't remember... I just always remember that they were packed wherever they took it.) Chattanooga is one of those places that has a sneaky good food scene. Even so, Yummy Thai tops the list. Props for the name. It seems a bit cheesy at first, but it's a hat tip to our favorite soup. read more

Best Thai in Chattanooga! All the curries are so good. Service can be slower at times but it's always worth the wait.
