I really enjoy supporting small, family-owned businesses, and this place definitely has that welcoming feel. The food itself was okay overall, but the portion sizes were the real standout. My favorite was the spicy crazy noodle. You definitely get a lot for what you pay, which makes it a great value. At the time of my visit, the server was also cooking in the back. I'd imagine if it gets busy, service can be long. If you're looking for a good bang for your buck and want to support a family-run spot, this is a solid choice. Solid thai food :) The thai iced tea is easily one of the best I've ever had. It's one of my favorite drinks and they nailed it. I got the ginger entrée with chicken. Nothing mindblowing, but a great meal nonetheless (high quality and flavorful). It came with brown rice, which threw me off at first. To my surprise it was better than a typical side of white rice. Ordered this on UberEats as they were having a 40% off deal, I tried the Panang Curry and the Pad Thai. To me it was just alright. I ordered the Panang Curry with Chicken but was given tofu instead, which I think makes it a little bit hard to compare because I was missing the chicken. I ordered it "hot" for the spice level but I would say it came out mild. I think maybe they might've sent me the wrong order. I also had a beef pad thai which actually came out to taste more like a pad see ew with the thin pad thai noodles. The sauce was more a pad see ew sauce but the noodles were pad thai size. The food tasted fine, just everything was a little off between swapping the chicken for tofu and the pad thai being more of a pad see ew with smaller noodles. My wife and I have walked by this place a hundred times and finally decided to give it a shot. It is BYOB if you choose to dine in. We brought a bottle of wine and were some of the only people in there, however we saw about 50 delivery people swing through while we were sitting, so obviously they do a big business with delivery. The appetizers we had were excellent, starting with soup and moving to shumai and gyoza. Then we tried there different entrees, a curry dish, pad Thai, and veggie fried rice. I've been coming here for my Thai-crave for a few years and what keeps me coming back is the food and the location. the dishes that I enjoy is the "yellow curry" and "pad thai - chicken". Better than most other places and when I ask for more rice for my curry - they have no issues giving more without the cost. Yummy Thai is one of the most common places for students at Rush Medical college to satisfy their Thai food cravings at a very affordable price. The menu is somewhat standard but includes a lot of common and classic Thai dishes including pad thai, various types of curry entrees and the famous Thai iced tea/coffee! I got the Pangang curry with mild spiciness and it was much better than I expected. The rice, however, was dry and tough and felt somewhat uncooked. I also got Thai iced coffee which was great! The staff was friendly and the service and food prep time were very good. The interior of the restaurant was somewhat poorly lit and the furniture basic. Overall, it's a great place to get classic Thai dishes at an affordable price. Don't expect greatness but if you are ok with a quick, easy place to satisfy Thai food cravings, Yummy Thai is the place for you. Delivery and all is fine. They don't really let you customize dishes as much as you'd like, so I couldn't order my fave. But I did get a good variety which I tried over a couple of days. BEST tofu rama I've ever had, hands down. As a college student, takeout gets me though long hours of studying and I would have this every single night if I could. Our general impression was "disappointed" but not truly negative. However, the panang curry was good. There was egg shell in the pad see eiw, though, and so my girlfriend didn't want any more after that. The pot stickers appear to be manufactured and were unfortunately deep fried. Ordered their orange chicken dinner and pad Thai dinner and this was what I got: - 6 pieces ($16+) of breaded orange chicken that was under-fried to where the breading was this slimy, disgusting coating that was falling off of the chicken pieces. Also BARELY any sauce w/ the meal. - Exploded brown rice that looked like quinoa at first glance and was clearly old and stale - Weird shredded noodles that was definitely not pad Thai noodles, the noodles dish overall was bland and dry. We recently ate dinner at Yummy Thai on Taylor Street on a scorching pre-summer Sunday. Our party of four visited on an off-hour for an early dinner, so it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. The air conditioning was working, and our water glasses were always replenished so we enjoyed a comfortable meal here. One person ordered the Thai iced tea and she enjoyed that drink. We agreed to eat our dinner selections family-style so that we could try everyone's dishes. Two people ordered fried rice dishes, one of which included pineapple and the other was ordered with a medium level of spiciness so you could see more red pepper flakes on that plate. Another ordered the lad nar, a flat noodle dish with chicken and broccoli that was fine. Originally I wanted to order a duck dish but was informed that duck and salmon were both out that day. Fortunately my second choice of Panang curry was tasty and not too spicy (I guess you could order the spice level to be cranked up if so desired). This dish included chicken, bell peppers and basil in a creamy peanut and coconut milk sauce that went well with the bowl of plain white rice. Overall all the food I tried was solid, and we probably ate 98% of all the food served to us so that's a good sign. Service was prompt and pleasant, and the prices are all fairly reasonable. We all agreed that the food lived up to the restaurant's Yummy name. read more

The chicken literally had no flavor. It was so bland. I thought the noodle and broccoli ratio were fine and were flavored well enough, but the chicken really had nothing going for it. I've ordered delivery from here several times - it's incredibly convenient if you are in the mood for Thai and work in the area. I can only vouch for a few items on the menu, but so far so good! I usually order the basil ground chicken dish thai style with steamed rice, seaweed salad, and lemon iced tea. The basil chicken dish is superb - it has ground chicken stir-fried with fresh basil, green beans, white onion, and bell pepper. I actually usually eat it without the rice altogether, but it's fine either way. Honestly, it's probably enough for two people when you eat it with the rice, but I can eat it all by myself! The seaweed salad is also pretty yummy, but the last time I ordered from here, they didn't offer it anymore. Lastly, the lemon iced tea is delicious! Remarkably, they are able to deliver it still iced and intact. The food is decently priced with sizable portions. There is, of course, a minimal order amount so that they will actually deliver the food to you - but with the meal described above, it counts. The delivery service during peak dinner time takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour, but otherwise, it can be pretty quick. Overall, I'd recommend it if you are in the mood for Thai and in the neighborhood. read more

Okay so I love Thai food. I think Thai food is complex because it provides a lot of different spices, cooking techniques, and textures in it's food. I love that about Thai food. As long as the flavors are there and the ingredients are fresh. I'm going to enjoy it. Which brings me to my entree, I had a tofu stir fry. Flavor was good ingredients were fresh. There was different textures in when i took a bite, but the execution was flawed because to be honest the tofu was still a bit cold. If the cooked the tofu just a little longer the no doubt this would be a solid 4 star, but I couldn't finish my meal because cold tofu on a warm stir fry... not exactly something you drool over. Fortunately for me I also ordered the cucumber salad which as basic as it may be is one of my favorite this, and Yummy Thai did a good job with their salad. The best part of my meal however was their Thai Iced Tea. It was so good that I bought another to go after finish my first tea. All in all, I did enjoy the flavors of Yummy Thai, but the execution of my entree really made it hard to make this more than a 3 star rating. I will go back to have their Thai Iced Tea, and hopefully I'll have a better food experience then. read more

My go-to order here is the Sweet Basil Chicken. This is a spicy dish with green beans, red peppers, onions, and steamed rice. It's perfectly cooked, the vegetables are still slightly crunchy not wimpy like vegetables in most Asian dishes. It's slightly small for the cost compared to other Asian restaurants so I recommend ordering an appetizer. That being said, I have ordered the Beef Pad Thai and was disappointed. This dish was dry and didn't have much flavor. If ordering from Yummy Thai, get something that comes in a sauce, not a dry noodle dish. read more
