    Fresh Shrimp Rolls
    Cassandra M.

Yums Kitchen has always been one of my favourites due to the ambiance, the great service and the delicious food they have provided in past. I tried their Chicken Vermicelli bowl and their Fresh Shrimp Roll. They have given generous portions as per usual. The chicken in the vermicelli bowl was tender and juicy. The fresh shrimp roll was okay. There was a lot of the vermicelli inside so it was quite chewy. The sauce that comes with it had a hint of sweetness to it as well. Having said that, this visit has left me slightly disappointed. It seems like they have made some slight changes to their recipes. Previously their chicken vermicelli bowl was garnished with peanuts. It seems like they took off the peanuts (maybe due to them being a common allergen). Also, my partner ordered garlic habanero chicken wings for the second time since we really enjoyed them the first time around. It seems like they changed the sauce as it wasn't spicy compared to last time. They weren't crispy/crunchy this time around either. I'm not sure when the changes happened but I'm hoping they would go back to their original recipes as those were what made my friends and I love this place. Overall, I would still continue coming here and giving their newly added items a try.

Very trendy restaurant. This place does get busy so. I recommend coming early or later in the afternoon. There are lots of large tables to accomodate large crowds. The restaurant is also pretty kid friendly. The menu also has a great selection and something the whole family can enjoy. We ordered a banh mi, a bowl, bao their fries and even a dessert. I highly recommend getting a bunch of things to share since the prices are great and lots of things to try

Vietnamese Classic Sub, Sweet potato fries, grilled chicken fresh wrap
    Deborah H.

Sandwich is yummy needs a bit more daikon, sweet potato fries were extra crispy and there was only a couple inside, the fresh wrap exterior was a bit hard needed to be put under the water a tad longer. Overall, I would return to get the sub or try a different sub. The box is not worth it.

Receipt has more information than I was given at POS

Stopped in for a second time, sad to see their window broken- I was just there last Friday. I arrived 18min too late for the lunch special so I just opted for a sandwich. Ordering at this location is pretty difficult, there is a big menu and little laminated versions but no ingredients list that might be typical to a fine in Vietnamese restaurant. Do I ordered the Yums special then asked what's in it. Chilli oil with no protein. The fellow at the til suggested the Vietnamese special, so I said sure. I inquired what they put on the bread, he explained a mayo butter mix. So I ordered no mayo. What I didn't know was the protein, it was definitely a surprise. It seems that the receipt has more info- which you can't see until you get the receipt???? I did find the bun had less pickled carrots in it- just not as good as last Friday... :/ There was no House Special Sauce -I did not taste it, I suspect it's the salty fish sauce but I never was provided it with the order, so my order may have been incomplete. Just a warning, at POS there is an auto prompt for tip- kind of annoying to be prompted when you're taking take out. I mean there is a tip jar if a customer wants to tip. It seems to be a pandemic thing to ask for tip but if you receive the order for takeout you can skip the prompt it would be less annoying. I was not handed any number or order number so I went to the pick up area. Service was fast. It's an interesting fast service Vietnamese place you would generally find in dt Toronto without the sitting area- definitely check it out. Would be nice if sandwich options were $4 or less for the goods tax rebate (like what you would get at Tim Hortons). I'm not sure if any regular person would choose to eat a pate- definitely a surprise for me, my order seemed to be incomplete here missing the special house sauce I was billed for- discovered after I left because it was takeout.

Modern Vietnamese Service: they busy but they make sure you're taken care of. We went during busy lunch hour on a Thursday. You orders at the counter and they give you your receipt. They call your name and you pick up your order. Food: Box combo Grilled chicken banh mi - Very well seasoned chicken, very juicy and not dry at all. Was good but needs a little bit more salt content compared to Nguyen Hoang's Banh mi's and maybe slap some more pate on that bad boy (9/10) Honeydew smoothie - Pretty Sweet drink, they're using powder, you can't fault them for this drink though it's not what you're there for. (6/10) Japanese style fries. Nice and crispy, good portion (handful), good seaweed crisp and flavor. Creamy mayo on top. (8/10) Grilled pork fresh roll - Good pork flavor, very fresh. They give you a hoisin sauce on the side to dip (7/10) Ambiance: modern and sleek decor, feels very upscale, busy environment and loud due to the blender. Good casual spot to eat but if you're sitting close to the kitchen that blender will interrupt your conversation. Viet music playing in the background made me feel like home. Parking: busy parking cause lots of restaurants to try in this plaza Overall: 7/10 Experience - Decent food, good ambiance/decor, service was good. Food prep was about 10 minutes max which isn't too long of a wait, it means it's fresh and you can see them preparing your order once you put it in. I'll bring my wife next time we're in the area.

The banh mi here is pretty good. My aunt really enjoys it and they have lunch specials which comes with a drink. Have tried the Yums speical, chicken, and the Viet classic and enjoyed all of them. Not sure about the price as I can only compare it to the banh mi that I get from Chinatown (which is fairly cheap) but for a restaurant, I'd say it's decent. The drinks are comparable to other bubble tea places and I always get their Viet iced coffee but also tried the avocado smoothie (seen in the photo). It was made fresh and I really enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet. The iced coffee is regular and I always get it with less ice (they said it would be more strong but I'm fine with that). The service is pretty fast and they're always nice. They also have a loyalty program (which I keep forgetting to do).

It was the first day of school And right after , school Shopping ,we got really tired and wanted some bubble tea. We immediately thought we could go To Bubble Republic for dinner but we forgot it's close on Tuesday . Luckily we found this at the corner . Menu is sort of similar with pho mi as they have the rice and meat options. Ambiance is very nice 5/5! Very good for photos! Taste- is good ,very tasty and they have a Nutella smoothie which the kids enjoy a Lot. Plus they also have a 15% discount until Sept 11! I would love to try their Bahn Mi next time! I would definitely recommend this place ! Service is also good! Staff is smiling and very welcoming

Came here to catch up with some friends on a Friday night and had such a great time. The ambiance is great for casual catch-ups and snacking (though they do have some meal-sized options too). I love that you can go up to the counter to order without having servers bug you every few minutes. I also love that they have a great variety of sweet and savoury options for everyone! The food is really tasty and very well-priced. I really enjoyed my grilled pork Banh Mi and Baos! The grilled pork is cooked and seasoned to perfection! My friend mentioned that she liked this one best out of the other fillings she's tried. I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu.

Chicken and pork chop on rice
    Laur A.

I did takeout but wish i couldve done dine-in. The aesthetic inside the restaurant is very cozy. I've had their baos before which were good but I was craving some grilled food. Price is about on par with other viet places for rice dishes, and the food itself was very good. The portion of meat was large compared to the rice, in a good way. It lasted me two servings!

It is located in the Fresh Palace Supermarket plaza which has plenty of parking and definitely a bonus to this community. Once I entered the place, it was a wow factor. About 7 seating area with marble look tables and emerald green velvet chairs. There's an area for selfie. It's an open kitchen with a nice turquoise counter. Love that colour. The lighting was vibrant and eye catching. A comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The menu is squished into one large laminated paper. There are Viet food and lots of drink choices. Some wings and fries too! You order first, and wait for your number to be called. I love how they already have a reward system set up. My partner had the chicken vermicelli. He liked it but thought the portion was smaller than a typical Viet restaurant. I had the chicken Banh mi (since they didn't have the tofu stew one). The bread wasn't as chewy as I wanted. The fillings were decent. I also tried their garlic habanero wings and it got too spicy for me. Overall, I would definitely go back and try their drinks, rolls and mango salad. 15% off until Sept 11 is a bonus.

Banh mi box - grill pork banh mi, grill chicken fresh roll and papaya salad
    Winnie T.

Banh mi was delicious! Pork was nicely sliced and seasoned. I despise crumbly, hard bread and appreciated how soft the bread was here. I'll definitely be coming back to try the bao and pho!

    Jacqui L.

Viet restaurant with fair prices, great staff and good food. I tried the chicken and spring roll vermicelli - decent. A little fatty but good flavor overall. Fried chicken bao - pretty good, I liked the mayo they used. Pork belly bao - would skip as it was pretty much all fat (although i should've known pork belly is usually like that). They do have high chairs for babies and lots of tables. Very clean and the service was so fast! We got our food in like 5 minutes. Would love to try the pho next time!

    Garlic fish sauce chicken wings

Was initially hesitant to try this place after looking at the menu since it seemed very confused. I'm happy to say I was very wrong and that this place is YUM. My group tried a few things off the menu but the trio vermicelli in particular was very well done. The Bahn Mi was a very good size with good ingredients. The Vietnamese coffee was also very much on point. Was expecting the chicken wings to be like the wings at Phnom Penh in Vancouver, it wasn't quite the same but still very good. That was only a small part of the menu and will have to try the other options on the next visit.

In late July, our team had a summer event at Claw Land, which Yelp also introduced me to. I suggested that we come to this cafe afterwards for a drink. It was a seven-minute drive away. This cafe's entrance is on the left of Foodie North. There was lots of parking outside. I drove two of my colleagues over here. We got out of my car and walked in. It was nice seeing a couch and more seating. It was all moved out for our Yelp event less than a couple of weeks back. The Yelp event indicated that we'd vote for a new drink that would be permanently on the menu. I decided to ask the two women behind the counter whether the aurora pêche (sparkling peach) drink was available yet. They looked clueless. They looked at me as if I was not an earthling. I guess not. I hadn't lost my mind. Jane, the owner, wasn't there. She would have known. There were Yelp-branded glasses on the bookshelf, so this event wasn't a figment of my imagination. There were eleven of us. One of my friends got the Oreo ice cream milk tea. He loved it. I got a large peach strawberry oolong tea (no sugar and less ice) with coconut jelly. It was excellent. It hit the spot after a fun time playing claw games. My other friend got a mango green tea. She was so happy with this drink. Yay! It was nice that everyone on the team loved what they had ordered. My manager tends to trust my judgment and got the same drink that I did. No complaints. Nice! My other colleague ordered a mango coconut milk tea with coconut jelly. She loved it so much that she ordered another one and three other teas for her family before she left. Wow! If you need to use the washroom, you head over to Foodie North next door. It was clean. The eatery was also cool to peruse. This place accepts debit and credit cards. We had a great time caping off our summer work event here. It's a good cafe to get bubble tea and more, and hang out. It seems to have a flow of students as they were offering a studen special. I don't frequent bbt places because I find it pricey, PLUS I'm not a fan of fake fruit powders or tea mixes. Instead, I prefer to make my own at home with actual tea leaves/bags. However, after speaking with Jane, she told me that her tea is actually sourced from Taiwan and the coffee she sourced is from a local, Toronto roaster. So both tea/coffee options are legit. After some discussion of what I was in the mood for, I took Jane's recommendation of the Creme Brulee milk tea. This custard topping is also made in-house with actual vanilla beans. And Jane took the liberty of not adding any extra sugar to the tea itself as the topping already contains sugar. Overall, if I were to stop for bbt, I'd opt for Meeko Meeko as opposed to other places esp those big chains. I prefer to support local, small businesses AND the quality of the product is better!
