Viet Bites is a Vietnamese snack shop located along Gerrard near Ontario St. (around Cabbagetown area). The small shop is primarily take out only although there is a small space for seating and 2 tables to enjoy your food and beverages there. I've heard good things about Viet Bites and have been wanting to go here to try their Vietnamese food for a while now. I stopped by Viet Bites on a Thurs afternoon around 2:30pm. The place was quiet but there were a few customers as I was enjoying by banh mi. The menu has a variety of bahn mis as well as sweet dessert soups and drinks. Moreover, they have some house special items including mini baguette with pate, banh mi with egg custard cream, as well as Viet rice paper mix (banh trang tron). They also have a small selection of cake boxes as well as some sticky rice items too (would love to try that vanilla iec cream sticky rice in the summer!). I decided to order a banh mi and a iced Viet coffee. It can actually be part of a combo and the staff told me that it was best to try their bestseller banh mis as I was getting the combo. Staff suggested that I try the grilled pork banh mi (each banh mi comes with carrot/daikon pickles, cilantro, pate, and mayo). My order was made at a reasonable time where I waited less than 5 min. I decided to try the banh mi there since the baguette was still hot. The baguette was warn, crispy and delicious. The grilled pork in the banh mi had flavours of lemongrass and the pieces of meat were tender. The picked carrot/daikon, cilantro, and mayo completed the sandwich. The Viet coffee was good too - lots of ice! I've had stronger Viet coffees in the city but this one also wasn't too sweet which I appreciated. Staff were friendly and they were surprised to hear that I had heard lots of good things about their shop. As I was leaving they also asked how my banh mi was. Overall, great place for Vietnamese street snacks. Would definitely return in the future to try more items!

This is a small Vietnamese takeout restaurant. Their food is based on Haiphong city (near Hanoi) in Vietnam. They soft-opened on 2025-05-08. During this period, you can buy one and get one 50% off. This applies to all menu items. We ordered the following: 1. Fish Cakes Banh Mi ($7.99). 2. Grilled Pork Banh Mi ($7.99). 3. All In Banh Mi ($7.99). 4. Che Buoi ($6.99). Pamelo Sweet Soup. 5. Che Suong Sa Hat Luu ($7.49). Rainbow Pearls Sweet Soup. 6. Purple Sticky Rice Yogurt ($6.49). All the food were good and authentic. My favourites were the Grilled Pork Banh Mi, Pamelo Sweet Soup, and Rainbow Pearls Sweet Soup. The customer service was good. Inside, there is a little bench to sit down, accomodating up to 6 people. There is modern music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The cafe is not wheelchair accessible. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Highly recommend checking out this cute Vietnamese snack shop. They have everything from banh mi, che (Vietnamese dessert), drinks, and cakes. Ordered their che Thai and banh mi cha bong (pork floss) and loved both. Really friendly and polite staffs!
