Banh cuon (minced pork) & banh uot

I'm finding it harder and harder to find authentic Vietnamese Banh Cuon/Uot in the city, so I am very grateful this place still stands. Their dishes are very flavourful and is a great value for $10. The service is very fast and friendly. The atmosphere definitely gives you that nostalgic feeling when you enter. I've heard their catering is also incredible and will consider in the future!

A hidden gem!!! First restaurant that I've found in Toronto that specialized in banh cuon! Such a pleasant surprise when I also saw they had freshly pressed sugar cane juice too!! Their food is absolutely delicious, I loved the banh cuon, I wish I had ordered multiple plates but instead we opted for a bowl of bun mam and bun bo hue. I think this place specializes in Hue region food! The bun bo hue was amazing but I'd skip on the bun mam. Honestly I would come back just for the sugar cane juice! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for Vietnamese noms!

Nice find on St Clair West for authentic Vietnamese cuisine! Came looking for banh cuon and there are a few that comes up in this area. Glad we tried this place. Take out only during covid. Restaurant is open concept and you can see into the large kitchen in the back. Clean and tidy interior. We called ahead and order was ready on arrival 20 minutes later. Tried the Banh Cuon Dac Biet, spring roll, salad roll, spicy beef pho and rice platter with grilled chicken, pork chop, shredded pork, egg cake and egg. Didn't try the pho but the spicy beef noodle soup was flavourful and spicy broth was just right. It is packed well for takeout. Salad roll was nicely done. Spring roll all filling no filler. Banh cuon was the star of the show. They are wrapped on a roll not flat and filled with pork and wood ear. Nice accompaniments with Vietnamese ham, and fermented sausage. Delicious and spot on! Rice platter was a good size, grilled chicken and pork flavourful. Good place on this area if you're craving Banh Cuon and authentic dishes.

Fresh banh cuon. Portion size could be a bit larger but overall tasty. Family restaurant and love to support them!

So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed.

Delicious desserts, waffles ice cream, smoothies, and more. We ordered: Medium Mango Smoothie - $7.95 Simple Pleasures Waffle - $15.50 The waffle was light and fluffy and the toppings of fruit and chocolate were a great combination. I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. Their seating area is good for friends and groups to loiter. Also, if you plan on bringing a laptop, they have MANY OUTLETS!!

For items: we chose strawberry, banana, halal marshmallow, waffle bites, brownie bites, and Oreo with a round of cappuccino's ($5.50 each). The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. The only criticism I could have was it took a while to get our order. So, it's not one of those places you can be dipping into expecting to be done in 20mins! We stayed for nearly 3 hours and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
