If you're looking for Korean food in Bellingham, this is the spot. Chicken katsu was crunchy and delicious. It also came with banchan (side dishes). The kimchee was spicy and fermented just right, which, to me, is in between not fermented/raw and super fermented/sour. The soup was my favorite. This place is located in downtown Bellingham. Therefore, metered parking may be difficult to find during peak hours. For me, this place is an utter disappointment. I came here on a Tuesday for lunch and the ramen I ordered took over 30 minutes to come out. What was even worse is that the ramen tasted like the generic $0.50 packages from grocery stores. For the $10 seafood ramen, I got two pieces of shrimp that one has to use a magnifying glass to find, three pieces of imitation crab meat that tasted like pieces of dough, and two more pieces of squid. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Go next door to Muto Ramen instead. read more

We were a party of 3 and the 3 different dishes we all ordered was soooooo very good--made our hearts and tummies happy. I had the Stone Pot Bulgogi Bibimbap with Beef and it was my comfort food especially on a cold rainy evening; I loved scrapping the bottom of the pot and chewing on the crispy rice crust. Read a lot about this place so came with a friend for lunch. Social distance in mind we got a table at the back. All Covid precautions were being followed. Firstly, when you walk in it smells amazing! Love that. Young server was very family with the menu and he answered all of our questions. He told us that he helps make the kimchi and he's the one who slices the beef for the bulgogi. We ordered the Korean fried wings, the veggie Korean pancake, and the beef bimimbap in the stone bowl. These came with 4 different banchan dishes. The kimchi was perfect spicy, tiny bit sweet, great acid. There was also a shredded sweet potato dish, some pickles and some broccoli with a hot sauce ( which wasn't really hot) The pancake (buncingae) was so good I could've eaten the whole thing, but I took half home! It's as big as a small pizza. Crispy outside, chock full of veg and served with a soy based sauce. The wings were spicy and sweet, and yes they were breaded but in the best possible way and fully coated in a dark red sticky sauce ? Gojujang ? My friend had the bimimbap bowl which came with all of the accoutrements and a perfectly fried egg on top, crispy rice on the bottom. I finally got to try Yun Ga Ne and was happy with what I ordered. I got the vegetable pancake to go on my lunch. It was ready on time and came with so much more than I had expected. It had a whole box of just ban chan! Everything tasted great. I'll be returning soon. read more

For those that crave kimchi and gochujang will love this meal. Flavors were spot on. Served on a hot skillet and you can request your desired heat level. This was a difficult review to write. I brought my mom here for her first Korean food experience, we both had the Bi Bim Bap in the stone bowl and it was good. The service was also very good, the lady working was very sweet and attentive. The reason for my low stars is, on my way the the restroom in the back, the hallway smelled very bad. Old oil, food, I don't know, but it was not a good smell. The restrooms were dirty and very worn out. The paint was damaged on all of the walls and it just hasn't been maintained. While I enjoyed my meal, I would not come back. The cleanliness of the bathroom often reflects the cleanliness of the kitchen. If the bathrooms are that dirty..... well, there are just other places to try. read more

The best bibimbap I've had since living in Seattle! Wonderfully seasoned, egg was perfectly sunny side up, great portion size and didn't leave me feeling greasy or heavy afterwards. I had hoped for a Korean restaurant in Bellingham would work out. The food is good enough, but it is not worth the 2 hour wait. I had to serve myself menus, water, and everything else in between. How it takes two hours to serve 10 tables at most is beyond me, especially considering that the menu doesn't consist of anything more complex than basic bibimbaps, pre marinated meats, and fried entrees such as katsu. Honestly, I don't know what takes them so long. People who were seated 30 minutes after us got their food before us. You are better off driving down to the Korean restaurant in Burlington, and it will still be quicker than it would be to get your food at this restaurant. read more
