Last week was my 4th time at this restaurant and it was the worst time of all. The first two times were before they moved - which in my opinion was way better. We were four people and we decided to roder all the specialties. In the past they would bring each specialty on a separate plate and the pieces were huge. This time they brought all the rolls on one board as if they were regular rolls. Very dissapointing. Pieces were very inconsistant in size. Service was a bit slow. I used to recommend this place a lot but now I don't think I will. They also did not have their famous octopus salad which used to be amazing. Quality has gone down since the move.

We discovered this place due to a recommendation from a friend. First off it is a bring your own wine , which is always a plus. The location was nice inside, clean cozy and casual. The service was so friendly and attentive , The pricing was reasonable and the food was excellent , you cant ask for more ! We came here on a Tuesday night for dinner and the place was packed , so definitely show up early or try to make a reservation. They bring you their regular menu and then they have a board of seasonal specials to choose from as well. The sushi was so fresh and tasty , we were so impressed with each roll that we had , it melted in your mouth and you could taste each of the flavours inside. They had lots of options with seaweed and many with rice paper which was nice. Theyre very generous with the amount of fish in each piece. I highly recommend this place to any sushi lover.

The presentation SAS a little different from other ones we've done - they did it as several courses - sashimi, nigiri, and rolls, followed by dessert. The fish was fresh and well presented - we enjoyed every bite. Or server was friendly and knowledgeable - at one point, we asked him about sushi chefs, and why e seldom see female ones... He checked in with the chef and came back with a good answer... He definitely added to our night. We highly recommend!

We showed up on time for our reservation. The restaurant is dark, and sleek looking, so it could be a place for dinner or for drinks at the bar. We browsed the menu, and decided to go light and ended up trying the the following: - Edamame (with Furakake): Good. Soy beans can only be so different between restaurants. I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. Did all the tight things, and timely, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was an OK visit. Food overall was generally good quality, but very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. But I also recognize that sometimes you pay for ambiance, and you certainly do here.

I stopped by this (actually…read morehidden) speakeasy since I was staying at the nearby Hotel Bonaventure, and it was definitely worth a visit! Located on the 45th floor, you can get beautiful panoramic views of the city, including of the St. Lawrence river. Highly recommend stopping by to watch the sunset transition into nighttime. Now onto their menu- I was expecting a bit more food options, but they really only have light bites/appetizers, so I'd eat elsewhere beforehand. I ordered the Wagyu brioche, which was incredible, but I wasn't as impressed with the crispy hosomaki, which was overly salty and didn't have that much dimension of flavor. The drinks were incredible and innovative though, incorporating authentic Japanese flavors and three eras of Japan's history. The bartenders and staff were very friendly and accommodating, managing to snag me a much coveted bar spot without a prior reservation.

Definitely some of the best prices and the drinks were actually really good even at that price. We went on a Sunday afternoon and weren't expecting much since I heard it's usually quiet but there was a decent crowd. The staff did a good job getting us seats within 10-15 minutes. Definitely looking forward to coming back next time we're in town.

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

There is not a ton of seating in the restaurant. It is small and the tables are quite close together. We were a little disappointed that they ran out of salmon so we couldn't order any salmon sashimi dishes. We got skewers which were absolutely delicious! We also ordered takoyaki and okonomiyaki but there was nothing special about those. Wouldn't really recommend the okonomiyaki either. Would definitely recommend trying the Shrimp Burger and the Salmon Calcium (salmon pate).
