False to advertisement; I did NOT receive any of the promotions that they were offering as their grand opening specials. Although it is a very nice facility, the man that works the register was constantly on his phone having loud conversations, and barely acknowledging you as you enter and leave. The woman that did my brows was very rough. I NEVER cry at Vinita's (my ALWAYS go-to down the street!!!) but I had tears streaming as she roughly went about her business. Also I was very upset as it looked like nothing was done to my brows when I was finished. Was she just rubbing me raw!? I would rather wait awhile at Vinita's to get taken care of. read more

What attracted me to YUVA rather than another threading salon was how clean and pretty it looked on the inside. When I went in for my first threading experience ever, the receptionist and threading specialists were very nice. I decided to get my eyebrows and upper lip done because they were having a special for $10 for both. The threading experience was very nice and easy. They put you in a chair and lay you back. Because it was my first time getting anything threaded, my eyes were watering all over the place! But the lady that helped me was so nice and apologetic. She told me it shouldn't hurt/sting as much next time (which is a great thing!). Since it was my first time getting things threaded, I didn't really think that they would miss anything. Unfortunately they did (that's why I gave it 4 stars), but I am sure if I would have noticed it while I was there, they would have fixed it for me with no problem! Totally messed up my eyebrows :( I asked the lady to just clean up because I was growing them to a thicker shape. I checked in several times because she was threading for a long time. She kept just saying yes yes. Now I have one super thin eyebrow and one normal. I'm so upset. I hate writing bad reviews but I must warn anyone from the Asian lady. It's going to take months to get this back to normal. Oh and when I confronted them, they just told me they can make the other one thinner to match or I just need to use a pencil to color it in. Totally acknowledging that they messed up and saw the difference but didn't even care. How sad! read more

The salon offers a variety of services at reasonable price and has ~ 5 stations to address customer's threading or beauty needs. I was really surprised and impressed how clean and contemporary the shop was; the décor is nice and modern. The aestheticians wore black uniforms and presented well as a professional, and the front desk staff was courteous. There's a promotion of $30 for 5 eyebrow threadings; even without the promotion, at regular rate of $8, the price is competitive and lower than other places. There doesn't seem to have much waiting time as there are plenty of people working. Start to finish is an easy process: sign in at front desk, wait for the threading specialist to call you to her station, relax to while the professional work on the area of need. At the end, they put on aloe vera gel on the threaded area to sooth and reduce redness, a nice touch. However, I would recommend the salon to give clients a hand held mirror to check the progress of threading job on the chair. I have poor eyesight, and It was kind of awkward that I had to get up from the chair to go close up to the full length mirror to check if the shape needs reworked. Although this is of great value and nice salon, you will need to check it out yourself to see if you like the aesthetician's work and find the right threading specialist. read more

Avoid this place! If I could give zero stars I would. I made an account on yelp just to make my point. I came across this place through a Groupon special. I went in to get my eyebrows threaded as a clean up yesterday. By the time I was finished I left with the thinnest eyebrows ever! My eyebrows take forever to grow so I was really disappointed. I told the technician I was not happy and they were too thin and she just said she followed the shape. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded plenty of times and this had never been an issue at other places! She just gave me an "oh well" attitude. When I was checking out I also addressed my concern and told the receptionist I would be returning my Groupon for a refund because I did not want to return. The manager was sitting right behind her and didn't even make an effort to address this mistake. Talk about poor customer service. As a first time customer I had a bad impression and won't be returning. I won't be recommending this place either. If you are thinking about this place, don't. "What happened to your eye?" a MALE colleague asked me. "Did you get scratched by a cat?" He was referring to the nearly 1" scratch on my right eyelid....the smaller scratches on my left eyelid were not obvious, I suppose. For a guy to notice this!!! Anyhow, I had such a horrible experience with the lady who worked on me. It really upset me that she clearly ignored my warning that I have sensitive skin and made it a point to thread extra hard. When it was happening, it did hurt a bit but I thought that I was not used to her technique. I should have gone with my gut and stopped the session. Usually, I get threaded by Mona who is excellent but she was on "vacation." Don't know if she will actually be back - everyone else there is okay to borderline not good. I called the owner later and complained, not wanting a refund (measly $8) but I would have expected more than "Thanks for letting us know." Aside from Mona, the facilities are very clean but smell of pizza since Little Caesar's is next door. I will only return if Mona is there. read more

Was in the area so decided to stop by for a quick eyebrow threading since I haven't had one in about 10 years now! My eyebrows are pretty low maintenance so tweezers usually work for me. The standard price is $8 and my esthetician did a good job getting everything cleaned up, however, she was really fast and rough. These guys are lucky to have people like Susan and Shobha working there who do an excellent job and do truly make it a good experience. With that said, PLEASE: 1. Read the POSTED Salon POLICIES 2. Analyze your receipt for ROUNDING Up to the nearest dollar or if you are lucky, rounding down. 3. Do the math when you get their packages and make sure you are truly getting a deal. I have been a customer at Yuva for the past few years and have enjoyed the service provided by the staff - namely, Susan and Shobha. On Jnauary 14th, at 1:19 p.m. my card was charged for $167.00. In addition to the charges for my services, I noticed there is a line item for Rounding - non_inventory $0.50. I asked what it was for and was told the computer automatically does this. I wasn't satisfied with the answer so I took a photo of the receipt and decided to speak to the owners when they return. I was not given a specific date or time, just that they come in during the weekend. Today, on February 17th, I went in to get my services done and found one of the owners there so I decided to let him know of the issue I had with the rounding. I was told that the computer software is responsible for that rounding - $0-$0.49, the transaction will be rounded down and if the total is $0.50 or more, than, it will automatically round up! I was also told those Salon Policies are posted and their business lawyer has advised that so long as the policy is posted, then all is fine! As a business owner myself, I said it is a deceiving practice, unless each client is read or given a copy of the policies and specifically highlighting this particular one - no other business would I go to and expect to get an automatic discount simply because of a computer software's doing and certainly not pay extra 50 cents because the system used by a business has limitations! I was told I was being very demanding and that I always want everything perfect - keep in mind - I rarely see this owner - maybe a total of 3-5 meetings in the many months I have been a patron. I can of course just take my money, as he did offer it to me, and let this issue be. However, I do believe as a business owner and as a consumer that clients should be treated with honesty and this business is adding a revenue stream by preying on unsuspecting clients. I would like the business to stop charging the extra 50 cents and eliminate a revenue for themselves if they found the computer software presents a limitation and consider it a cost of doing business rather than passing the limitation onto their clients! And, if they are really considering to do some in kind work, they can continue to offer the discount for all transactions that are 49 cents and below. Or, just charge the actual fee for the service & not limitations of the business equipment. You can also see this complaint on Better Business Bureau's website. While buyer beware is how we are conditioned to be, the businesses must be held to higher moral standards and held accountable when they give you the run around. read more

This place is bright, modern and clean. The girl at the front Joanna is very friendly and professional her customer service is outstanding. She manages the place very efficiently and as a result there is usually not a long wait time. They give discounts if you buy 5 service gift cards or if you have a student ID. They offer a wide variety of services including eyelash extensions, facials and hana tattoos. I would give them 5 stats but they have some policies that are not very customer friendly. For example: They charge a fee for using a credit card if you spend less than $10.00 and tip is not included in the $10.00. If you are only getting eyebrows done bring cash. I've been here several times and I always leave satisfied. Full face threading: Simple, fast, and they always know what I want. Keep in mind I don't get anything complicated, just cleaning. Full leg wax: They don't use anything super high quality for the wax, but my skin didn't get irritated and felt smooth after so I was happy at the end. I had Mona, super sweet and did really good work. My eyebrows look awesome. I've got a scar on my eyebrow so it's always challenging finding someone who can make them pretty, but she did great.
