absolutely love Arina's work on my lips. My whole life I wished that have a nice defined contour…read morefor my lips. But my lips never had one untill I finally decided to let Arina to work on me. It took me a while to decide. I didn't havehigh expectations since was told that even permanent make up will not add a contour ..only color . My lips were getting pretty pale with aging so I decided to go for it. Arina took time to draw perfect shape before she did the job so I was confident. Now after 2 month I love the results! Most days I don't even bother to use a lipstick. My lips have a beautiful , natural looking contour I always wanted!! They look fuller and brighter. I'm now addicted:) I think it's totally worth the investment. I'm thinking to do my eyebrows next.. She is a professional who listens and delivers. Highly recommend Arina!! The space she works from is very cool and the area has tons of street parking.

Just don't do it…read more Permanent makeup is forever -- and so is a tattoo artist's mistake. I trusted Arina with my eyelids and walked away with a disaster: One eye is tattooed, and the other isn't. So now I have permanent makeup on one eye and nothing on the other -- the exact opposite of the effortless look I paid good money for. The anti-muse. When I pointed this out, on the table and in text, Arina handed me $200 and told me to go elsewhere. She refused to fix her own work. Now I'm stuck wearing makeup every single day, or else I look like a one eyed monster Picasso. And now I am hunting for another artist willing to guess the color she used -- because she offered zero help, zero documentation, and zero accountability. And I will have to pay all over again. No reputable artist wants to correct someone else's botched job. Only Arina has the history, and she walked away the moment she realized she made a mistake. Do yourself a favor: go somewhere else. Or just don't do it! Now I wish I had the luxury of having no make up on. Plus it's extremely painful. I have had other cosmetic tattoos, and none this painful (or botched).

Quality and prompt service!…read more I love being able to book appointments online, and this place made it incredibly easy. I was able to book a same-day appointment through the Square Go app (or directly through the booking link on their Google Maps listing), which was super convenient. I had my eyebrows and upper lip threaded, and despite it being my first time getting anything other than my brows threaded, it was surprisingly painless. I'll definitely be back!

This is such a long overdue updated review for Mary, specifically!…read more I've been working with Mary prior to moving out of SF for the last 6-7 months of my time in the city instead of Melissa (just based on our schedules, we had more conflicts and less mutual availabilities, but Mel is FANTASTIC still!) Mary is so patient, friendly, and has always been so meticulous with my lash details, she'll work on getting the lashes just right based on my natural eye shape. Before we start every filler session, she confirms the style I would like or if I'd like to change things up (and she is so accommodating whenever I do what to go longer, shorter, more natural, or more avant-garde, depending on the occasion!) I always look forward to my sessions with Mary, enjoy our 60-75 minute conversations even more, and before I moved, we even had a quick little breakfast party in the waiting area. I cannot recommend Mary enough to anyone looking for a professional and detail-oriented lasher who is not only great at her craft, but an excellent listener and lady friend! She is so kind and sincere, I miss her dearly!

[Note: I've been sitting on this review draft since January 2018. I wanted to make sure I wasn't…read morereacting hastily in drafting this. Now that I've had some time to look back on my draft, I realize I am still upset by my interaction with the manager here and want to make sure other potential customers are at least aware of my experience.] Update to my last review: The manager, Babaina, called me and I didn't have a great experience speaking with him. He was extremely focused on my review and getting me to delete it at any expense. His tone was very accusatory to me as someone who posted a negative (and honest) review, that everything was all about his business and his presence and number of stars on Yelp. He did not seem concerned with satisfying me as a customer, saying sorry for my experience, or asking how they can do better as a business. (To be fair, I did not contact Hollywood Beauty Threading when I realized how bad my extensions were. Babaina says they would have fixed it.) Here is the timeline of events: December 7, 2017 Babaina called me (I suppose he got my phone number from their booking calendar). He was really concerned about my review, saying that it would affect their business, and asked if I would remove it. I did not feel comfortable removing my review (it was, after all, my honest experience). He offered a refund on my extensions, and then added a free threading in exchange for removing my review. I said I would UPDATE my review with my threading experience. I said I would not change or delete my original review unless I had a good extension from them, and I did not want to get an extension from the same person again. He agreed reluctantly with this. Babaina called me back in a few minutes and said he would bring someone from his Stonestown location to do extensions for me. I said if I had a good experience, then I would actually change my review. I also said that he wasn't getting a return customer out of me, as this person from Stonestown cannot normally come to the Mission location (which is near my home), but I supposed he just cared about the review getting removed. Yup, he didn't care about satisfying me as a customer long-term - he just wanted to get rid of that review. So we made an appointment for December 19. December 12, 2017 I called Babaina after looking up eyelash extension Yelp reviews at the Stonestown location (all very negative) and left a message asking to cancel the appointment we made. I wanted to give plenty of notice and didn't want the woman coming all the way from Stonestown to make a trip for nothing. Babaina called back a couple times, but left no message. I assumed if it was important enough, he would leave a message. I didn't have time to deal with this any more at that point as I was leaving the country the next week. January 1, 2018 I return home from the holidays and call Hollywood Beauty Threading asking if I could still get a refund for my extensions. They said they are not giving me any refund or make-up extension. I don't care that I didn't get any refund or make up extensions, but I don't care for the way Babaina spoke to me and treated me as just a transaction. He should have cared more about my experience as a customer and not been so accusational towards me.
