My condition has developed into a serious inflammatory diease issue -- not arthritis -- and there are days when my body feels locked in pain. Yet every visit helps unlock that immobility so I'm not dependent on a cane all day. My loyalty to Century Massage comes from the consistent care I receive from Lyn, Gwen, and Rob. Each of them brings a different technique that eases pain I cannot manage alone. They even take the time to teach me at‑home exercises that help me get through the day. When my pain became nearly unbearable, Lyn introduced me to red‑light therapy, and it made a real difference. Their dedication, skill, and compassion are why I keep coming back. - helps me feel human again.

My concern is not with the massage services themselves, but with the conduct and business decisions of one of the owners. I was extremely uncomfortable when the owner chose to involve me, as a client, in deeply personal issues and conflict involving her spouse and business partner. I was told personal details about their relationship, the business separation, and her intentions regarding the other owner. None of this was appropriate or relevant to me as a client, and I should never have been placed in the middle of an internal dispute. What concerned me most was the apparent inability to separate personal emotions from professional responsibilities. Whatever issues may exist between two spouses are personal matters. Once those issues begin influencing business decisions, staffing, client relationships, scheduling, and the overall client experience, it becomes a business concern. As a longtime client, I was particularly disappointed by the lack of transparency surrounding the changes that followed. A massage therapist I had regularly seen was suddenly removed from the schedule and replaced, without what I felt was appropriate communication to the clients who had established ongoing relationships with her. Clients should not have to discover major changes to their provider through the schedule or simply show up and realize that things have changed. I also found it troubling that personal conflict appeared to extend into the business's public-facing social media. As a client, I should not be exposed to indirect public commentary or personal disputes between business owners. It creates an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment and makes clients question whether business decisions are being made objectively. This experience has been especially disappointing because I genuinely valued this business and had been a loyal client for years. I believe business owners have a responsibility to protect the client experience even when personal circumstances are difficult. Personal disagreements should not become the client's burden, and business decisions should be based on professionalism, communication, and what is best for the business and its clients--not personal emotions or retaliation. I am sharing this because prospective clients deserve to know that the quality of a business is influenced by more than the service being provided. Leadership, professionalism, communication, and the ability to handle internal conflict appropriately matter too. I sincerely hope the owner chooses to separate personal matters from business operations moving forward, because the clients should not be the ones caught in the middle. After two years of loyalty and referrals, it is genuinely disappointing to see a business I once spoke so highly of reach this point.

I will give credit where credit is due; Combo C was superb! For just $90 we got an hour of back massage & 30 minutes of a foot massage (this price is rare to find in spas so we were excited yet not holding too many expectations on them.) Both of our masseuse were kind, experienced, & direct up until we paid. Im talking stretching our arms, deep tissue work, & even including hot stones & steamed rags. Like I said, I will give credit where credit is due. There were a few moments outside of the tipping situation that were unusual like towels & drapes not being placed correctly on our exposed areas & giggling/whispering which you don't usually want to hear while you're bare naked on a massage bed. However -- What I found insanely unprofessional, disrespectful, & arrogant, is the fact that both a masseuse & who I can only assume is the spa owner: laughed in my friends face over a tip, pointed at it, acknowledged & asked "what is that, thats it?" & harassed my friend into leaving a larger tip after I had already tipped a good amount for our duo massage. Another thing to note, the shop owner then picked up my receipt, showed it to my friend, comparing the two tips & making her feel terrible & not so... zen. My friend felt uneasy & a bit embarrassed for the whole scene that just took place & immediately changed the tipping amount to much more. I understand tipping culture is very diverse nowadays & everyone has their own opinion on it but I don't think it's okay for someone who says they're a professional, to not act like one . I am even more worried about the fact that the spa owner enabled the employees behavior in front of us & even joined in on it at that. If you feel your services deserve more recognition, please add that to the pricing or even add an already accounted for gratuity fee instead of harrassing customers & making them feel guilty after what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. I would recommend going yet be ready to tip over $30 unless you'd like for it to get rude & awkward!
