Made a trip here to get my 1996 F250 inspected because of the high ratings and the inspector said that there are two license plate lamps required by state law. First of all, 1996 F250's only have a cutout in the bumper for one lamp so weren't even built to support two. Secondly, Texas Department of Public Safety Section 20.18 SubSec. 2c specifically states "Only one lamp is required" to pass inspection. This was verified on the "What's Inspected" list for trucks from DPS as well. Though this shop gets high rating my first visit was not positive and probably won't go back. I don't know why I didn't find these guys sooner. We moved to San Antonio in 2018 and have tried several different mechanics. ZV is just around the corner from us. The battery light was on in my wife's car last week, and the battery is brand new so I knew that wasn't it. The alternator was just replaced by another shop last year, so I'm thinking voltage regulator? Rodrigo calls me late Friday to tell me he thinks it's the alternator shorting but wants to a full charge on the battery over night to make sure. Saturday he calls me to say it is the alternator but the root cause is the water pump, which is leaking and spraying the alternator. Monday night we picked it up - perfect, full explanation/demonstration of what he found, and reasonably priced work. We're not going anywhere else from here on out. read more

I have been trying to fix a shaking in my car for over a YEAR! Have been to atleast 3 different mechanics in different states MULTIPLE times and replaced over 6 pieces of the front end of my car... he looked at it once and diagnosed the problem as the back struts and fixed it immediately for an amazing price and showed me everything in detail. Controls cost, works with customers and provides excellent information about whatever your vehicle concern. Works on vehicle and RVs. Quick in and out, if possible. Monica provides great customer service and a pleasant office atmosphere to wait, as needed. I normally leave my vehicle till its repaired. Which is quick. Giving this business less than 5 stars is cheating them. I've been coming to this business since 2010. Very reasonable pricing and labor cost. Once repair by Zigo its fixed. I've used ALL their services at one time or another. Try this place. You will be happy you used their services. Best thing ever that other places normally do not like to do. Failed my car for inspection because of a crack in the fog light cover. Fog lights are not even required for a Texas inspection. Listed the cause if failing as #17- HEADLIGHTS when my headlights were functioning 100% high beam and low. I would not trust a mechanic who doesn't understand the difference between headlights and foglights. Also filing complaint with state inspection hotline. read more

My husband and I have used Z & V Auto for numerous auto repairs over the course of many years. I was shocked to read the ludicrous bad reviews. I don't typically write reviews, but I couldn't stand to let those go without rebuttal. Even though this auto shop is about 17 miles from our home, we wouldn't take our cars anywhere else. They are extremely good at diagnosing and repairing problems with our cars. They don't just arbitrarily change a bunch of parts in the hopes of stumbling on the problem. They don't try to pad the bill with unnecessary repairs. They are honest, reasonably priced, and very, very good. As I said, as long as Z & V Auto is around, we won't use anyone else. read more

We took my granddaughters 1999 v.w. To have coolant leaks repaired. The car has been a money pit with something breaking every month or so. The mechanic owner not only fixed the leaks replacing hoses and fittings,but traced down some electrical problems that contributed to the overheating and repaired that as well. We have 2 cars of our own and if we need repairs we will return with our cars. It's nice to know a competent mechanic whose charges are reasonable. read more

I had to come here for my engine light which wouldn't go off. Autozone checked it on their scanner and said I needed a crankshaft module sensor. I dropped my car off to this guy and when I came to pick it up he said "no charge". He told me it was just dirty oil on the sensor and I just needed to get an oil change. He is the most honest mechanic I have ever come in contact with in all my years of owning a car. I have since taken it for brakes and oil changes. Every time he takes time to show me what is wrong with my car and explains it thoroughly. His prices are very fair. read more

they must be careless as that number is a fax number. i tried several times this morning 7-17-2013 and got a piercing sound in my ear for my trouble. if it is supposed to switch from phone calls to fax it is not working. wonder if they fix it so reverse on car makes it go forward and forward makes car go backward. check out your equipment is always a priority of good business practice. read more
