Came in to have our ac tested and charged. The mechanic tried to talk me into believing I needed a new AC compressor and condenser and told us that if we didn't, it wouldn't blow cold and would maybe last a day if they only charged the freon. We told them we couldn't do the compressor and condenser and he tried to back peddle, saying he was just saying the recharge could only last a day, but could actually last 6 months or a year. We said no thanks, went to O'Reilly's where we bought a charge kit and were shown how to use it, and have had zero issues with the now COLD AC. One thing we did find though, was that the day before we came there our oil was recently checked and was full with no leaks. After we left the shop we found that the oil was completely drained, still with no leaks. Apparently when they evacuated the freon, the oil mysteriously left with it. read more

I'm so glad I received a flyer in the mail because I was surprised to know there was an auto repair shop near me. (Turns out the previous owners had been there 26 years, but did not do any marketing.). I like to support local businesses and since I was approaching the 60K service mark I checked out the place. The new owners have only been there a short time. This is a family-owned business and I truly felt like I was in their home. The waiting area and restroom are clean, comfortable, have free wifi, and they even provide water, soda, and snacks. More importantly, their service was excellent! They kept me informed throughout, complete with pictures of their findings (sent to my phone) which the owner explained in detail. He even checked CarFax in advance to determine the age of my battery that had an issue! I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I will never go to a dealership for maintenance again! Broke down on 1604 coming from Austin to visit my son. Alternator went out and I was in a bad way. Had to find a tow and a place to fix this ASAP. Got a tow and saw that EC QUALITY CAR CARE was close and I told them my situation and they told me they could adjust their schedules to get me in. In terms of Auto Repair, I do not think it gets too much better. I came in with a faulty alternator. They fixed that for a reasonable price. Then I had to come back in the following week to fix a few other issues. Overall, I had a great experience. Thought about giving four stars since a technician forgot to put my plastic engine cover back on my car. BUTTT Lou, the manager, was very courteous and gave me a ride back home on date night... not just any date night! Valentines Day nonetheless. The best part of the experience was definitely Lou. Total Quote: $815.00!!!!!! !!AND Still wanted to charge the check up charge if i decided to fix it with them. Most if not all shops dont charge you the check fee if you do the repair with them. First and LAST time there. Could've won a new customer but failed. To all who live around, dont go there if you dont want to be ripped off. As you walk in the door you are met with their code of ethics that you can tell they take very seriously. The E C Quality Car Care employees don't see a broken car as another way to make money. Instead, they see it as another way to do whatever they can to assure The Best experience possible for their guests. I, myself, went in after just getting a diagnostic done at another mechanic shop down the road for an AC problem. The shop i came from did not sound too sure about their answer given to me, but still insisted i pay roughly $1,700 to fix it (after i had already paid them 1,600 to fix an oil leak on top of a $200 AC diag). Being a broke college student with just a little more than $400 in my bank account went to E C Quality Car Care for both a front end alignment as well as a AC diagnostic. I called in to ask how much a front end alignment would be and i got a answer of $95. However, upon arriving i was informed that they didn't know i drove a big f250 and the starting price for a front end alignment you is around $135. But, since they told me $95 over the phone that's what they would honor. That showed me just how honest and fair they are all in round. After the alignment, i decided to get my ac diagnostic done. It was $95 for them to check it out, and were unable to finish due to my coming in roughly an hour before closing. Although they werent able to complete it, they insisted i come back tomorrow so they could pick up where they left off. I came in the next day and was informed that the diagnostic might take one more hour which might need an additional $95 for the extra hour of labor because it wss electrical. Me, being an enthusiastic poker player, realized sometimes you have to be willing to go all in, in order to win. So with a little over $100 in my account i decided to give my ac one last shot. An hour past by and i got a call informing me that they got my AC up and running and found It was a plug that came loose from deep behind my fuse panel. I wad extremely grateful that it ran me $200 to fix my AC instead of $1,700 i was quoted just down the road. Lastly, the people at E C Quality Car Care treat you like family, and treat your vehicle as if it were their own. As they get to know you on a first name basis after just your first visit. I recommend this shop for anyone and everyone in the san antonio area that is wanting a fair and honest place to have their vehicle worked on. read more

the service is good, but take everything with a grain of salt. They tend to lie about what actually needs to be done with the car. They said my alternator was "completely shot, no other option but to replace it" with a cost of 1200 dollars. I said no multiple times yet he kept insisting and being aggressive, figured they were lying straight to my face. Told them to let me just leave and take it home as it was too expensive. Without the "shot alternator" replacement it would be 300 dollars only. I left with the alternator unplugged as I live around the corner, ALL THEY DID WAS UNPLUG IT, THE ALTERNATOR IS IN PERFECT CONDITION. The amount of money they scam people out of is unreal. They do good work, just depends on what you ACTUALLY need done. Also, spark plugs are 10 bucks everywhere, they charged me 100 for each spark plug. Get out of here!!!! Everything is marked up seriously 5x-10x in price as it should actually be. BE INCREDIBLY CAREFUL WITH THESE SCAM ARTISTS. read more

After 2 days of getting jerked around by other auto repair shops, I picked E C Quality Care because of the Yelp reviews and because they answered the phone when I called. I was not disappointed. Lou and Matt were both helpful, honest, and efficient. They took my car for a test drive and diagnosed the problem quickly. Then they walked me through everything, showing me the brake pads, rotors, and fluid while explaining what was happening when I was driving and how they could fix it. The repairs didn't take long and they didn't rip me off; the cost was lower than online calculators predicted. There were no added fees or attempts to convince me my car needed more work. They did point out a few maintenance issues that could cause me problems down the line. When the time comes, I'll be bringing my car back to the E C Quality Car Care for any additional work. read more

All I can say is WOW!!!! A VERY GOOD WOW! This place is fantastic. After being disappointed with a long relationship with a former mechanic due to change in ownership, we had to find a new shop. Fixed a problem with my AC in less than an hour after I had taken it on at least three times to my former mechanic who said they couldn't find what was wrong. They are very kind and courteous, and even followed up with a house call to make sure everything was working well. WHAT!!! Went in to get some aftermarket headers put into my car. I know this shop is really not for this but they said they would take a look at the parts I bought, do a bit of research just to make sure everything was good. Something went wrong during the installation, one of the O2 sensors was stuck in one of the pipes. Before they did anything they called me just to tell me what was going on and asked what I wanted to do. Overall really recommend this place, Lou was a really good with customer service, very friendly and the head mechanic Eddie also knows what he is doing. read more
