I recently watched a YouTube video from Chef Michael Rafidi highly recommending this place. It's been a while since I have been there, so I placed an online order it was ready within ten minutes! I do like their Chicken Shawarma Manoushe but this time ordered a Bizza (cheese) and their Bebberoni one. I love the crust on their flatbread, it is so good- so chewy and light. Both were fantastic and can't wait to try their other ones. Highly recommend this place for their Manoushe.
For lunch, a friend brought me to try Lebanese manoushe. We ordered at the counter, paid, sat at a table and received the order after about 10 minutes. Both had fluffy, airy dough and seemed similarly portioned to personal pizzas. The hot halaby honey ($17), with cheese and Armenian sujuk, ostensibly tasted like a pepperoni pizza at a fancy pizza place. The sujuk tasted like beef salami. The spicy baby had tomato sauce, a spicy sauce, basil, and labneh. The sharpness of the spicy sauce was tempered well by the refreshing labneh. The tomato sauce was savory and not too sweet. For someone used to Italian American cuisine,, this tasted like a a spicy margherita pizza with ricotta.
I am simply in awe over the vegan Manoushe at Z&Z. I had to ask three times to make sure the Toum Raider is vegan because it tastes too good!! I popped by Z&Z for lunch with friends. The inside seating options are limited but there was plenty of space at the picnic tables outside to enjoy my meal with friends. I ordered at the counter and asked what options are vegan. I was told the Classic and Toum Raider were both vegan. I chose the Toum Raider as it has lots of vegetables and seemed like it would be more flavorful. The Manoushe was ready quickly and I was in heaven after my first bite. The vegetables tasted so fresh! The base of the Manoushe had the perfect amount of olive oil. It didn't taste greasy or heavy, and felt like the perfect lunch to enjoy the onset of summer. The aioli made me nervous that it contained egg because it was so creamy and delicious! I have been told three times it is vegan, so I will not think too hard about it and just enjoy this delicious sauce. I am excited to come back to order the Toum Raider again. Thanks Z&Z for the great vegan options!
Storefront bakery with simple indoor and outdoor tables. The staff is friendly and helpful; make you feel at home and don't rush you to leave. We had the Hot Halaby Honey and the Lebanese Bride. I'm not crazy about any sweetness on flatbread, my mother would have cut us out of the will if we ordered Hawaiian pizza (pineapple and ham). However, I liked the Hot Halaby Honey more than I thought I would, it wasn't super sweet. The Lebanese bride was like getting a Greek salad on a pizza and that is not a bad thing, it was delicious. I had a lemonade that has an orange flavor to it and it was very refreshing. I wanted it to be bigger; they should have an American size. Authentic music served with your meal.
Z&Z staff are always happy and helpful. Normally we dine in but today I ordered online for pick up since Alonsa Mourning was back for the week. Alonsa Mourning: Aaji's Food's tomato Lonsa adds a sweet and spicy profile to the cheese layered on top of their bread. Glad they brought this back for the week after the one day special a few months back! Hot Halaby Honey: favorite of our household and they accommodate by putting the Aleppo pepper on the side for our kid who finds it too spicy (it's not actually spicy). Classic: Za'atar and olive oil? It's a blend of herbs (thyme, sumac?) and sesame seeds. One day we will try more of their items. I spotted some new salads. Come here if you want to try something new! I wanted to have manoushe and had been eyeing this spot. It's relatively small - there's around maybe 6 tables at max in there. You order at counter and it's out in a jiffy! I liked the Lahm Bi Ajeen and the classic. The orange blossom lemonade is to die for, with a big ice cube. I would buy a gallon of that. You can also head to the coffee shop next door or get an ice cream on the other side. Start your morning one day visit Z&Z. It also makes you happy to support a local dad and son shop in the area.
Z&Z Manoushe Bakery brings a really cozy concept to the area. The decor is very cute and welcoming, the staff were nice, and the wait wasn't too long at all. Everything also looked beautiful when it came out, the presentation was amazing. I ordered the Toum Raider, and while I loved the idea and freshness, the za'atar was a bit heavy-handed for my taste, making it lean slightly too salty/bitter. That said, the quality of the ingredients definitely came through. I'd absolutely come back, but next time I'd order something with more cheese or cream to help balance out the strong za'atar flavor.
Who has been gate keeping this spot from me? I've been getting Carmen's ices for years, but had no idea. The dough tastes like the bread from Yellow. Is it pizza? Is it flatbread? Who cares. Delicious. Lemonade was amazing too. Employees were nice. Store was clean. Food was fast. Great spot.
Stopped by Z&Z today for lunch, I had seen it all over reels and heard nothing but good things - today I saw why! The pizzas were soft as pillows and filled with taste I can't recall the names but the pepperoni pizza had a touch of hot honey and gooey cheese. The pizza with cucumber and tomato mix was light and savory - splitting the two with a friend was the best idea yet. Service was also fast and extremely welcoming, definitely coming back.
We had such a wonderful time at Z&Z today! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile. Since it was our first visit, the associate was so kind as to explain the entire menu. The explanation was clear and thorough. The presentation was just perfect, which really helped us decide what to order. There are both inside and outside seating options. The food arrived in about 5-10 minutes, and two associates brought it outside to us. They even surprised us with a complimentary plain cheese manoushe for our first visit! WOW! The manoushe was absolutely delicious. We're definitely planning to return and share this amazing spot with our friends and family in the Rockville neighborhood (Woodley Park, Nelson Street). One of my favorite places in the area. These flatbread pizzas are fantastic. If you want a pizza that's light and fresh with a Mediterranean twist this is it. I have not had a flatbread that I did not like. My favorites are the toum raider (clever name) and the Lebanese bride. These two pizzas come with very fresh toppings of cucumbers, yogurt , mint and a heavy toum garlic sauce for the toum raider. The tomb raider has a very crispy flat bread crust and lots of zatar spice, with toums sauce swirled around. The Lebanese bride is much milder and has toppings of cucumbers, tomatoes, mint, and Lebneh which is cheese, but really just taste like yogurt. I found that the crust for the Lebanese bride is actually a lot softer. The bizza is just an amazing cheese pizza that my kid devoured. But I have to mention the best part of being here is that it's family owned and apparently the children are great pranksters. One time we came in here and they were just pictures of their dad as the employee of the month for each month of the year. I may have stolen that prank idea. On a beautiful night, this is actually a great place to just grab a pizza sit outside and eat and then maybe head over to Carmen's to get dessert afterwards.
This is a tiny shop in a weird little shopping center; I've driven by it hundreds of times at it's visible from the highway, but it is just a couple of shops across from a park and is not normally a happening area. There were plenty of people in line for this place though. I wish I'd ordered ahead. Their chai had a wonderful herbal flavor, though I wish there'd been a bit more chai and less ice. The idea of ordering their version of a pizza seemed a bit silly to me-normally a pita pizza is a kind of make-do item or something you'd give a small child but it's not haute cuisine. The one I got here though, was unbelievably good. The bread chars nicely and the sauce and cheese they use are the kind of quality you'd get at a proper Italian restaurant. Having said that, the person nearby who got the more traditional za'atar covered bread and was shifting between various dips was clearly having a good time. I would certainly like to try that as well.
Fantastic flavor. There's so much flavor in the world and it makes me happy. Lebanese Bride was really good. I took another reviewer's tip and added toum to it. Powerful, garlic flavor. It was perfect. Will come back and try something else. Whatever I get, I'll ask for toum on the side.

Love their Chicken Shawarma Manoushe. It was in season and back on their menu for the time I visited so I went straight there. The parking lot stayed busy as it is shared with other businesses. Once the flatbread was ordered, it took time to really get made in their kitchen. I could not wait to get home to eat it, so I made sure to scarf down a few slices in my vehicle - it was that good. Can't wait to go back and get another. It has marinated chicken, persian pickles, pickled turnips, and toum drizzle. I am not big on anything pickled, but with this, I had it the first time years ago, ended up loving it and never looked back. I also was able to wash it down with some Orange Blossom Lemonade. I like that it wasn't too sweet and it hit the spot just right. Writing about this makes me want to order these items again...soon. read more

Came Friday before Monday 2025 Labor Day weekend and they were packed. Z&Z has been on my list for a long time but it's such a hassle crossing the bridge. I was immediately greeted when I walked up to the register. I asked a few questions and had a great conversation with the young lady taking my order. All the interior tables were taken, with a soft hum of conversations amongst each table. I opted to wait outside in the shade. My order was hand delivered outside which was nice. Once I got in my car I immediately opened the box, my Bizza was cooked to perfection and the crust has an amazing chew. SO and I enjoyed every bite. I also picked up a hummus. Way too salty for our taste. read more

Best manoushe I've ever had... okay, also the only place I've had it, but still. The bread is light, fluffy, and has that amazing slightly charred "fire oven" flavor. Honestly, I could eat ten of these plain, without any toppings. what I got: Lebanese Bride (5/5): Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers over strained yogurt/cheese. Super refreshing and flavorful. Has mint and zaatar. Tip: ask for toum (garlic sauce) on top, it ties everything together. Lahm Bi Ajeen (3.5/5): Personally didn't love this one; the flavors didn't stand out as much compared to the Lebanese Bride. Wish there was more texture contrast, but very hearty and savory. My friend liked this one more. The food is excellent, but what keeps me from giving five stars is the service. When I asked the staff a simple question about popular options (with no line behind me), I got a dismissive, sarcastic response--"um, all of them??" and then again when I asked a different question about the menu. It honestly made me feel uncomfortable for just trying to learn more about the menu, so I just ordered based on the pictures. Great food, but I really wish the service matched the quality of the dishes. Probs will still come again, just knowing exactly what I want to try next! read more

I've heard raving reviews about Z&Z's flatbreads (or to be specific, manoushe, which is a Middle Eastern flatbread) from a friend who used to live in the area, and he almost never hypes up food. So my friend and I caught up this past Saturday lunch at Z&Z where we had multiple flatbread options to choose from. It was incredibly popular with many people coming in and out to order food. There are a lot of tables available outside for seating, but fortunately we snagged one of the few tables inside. I got my manoushe ~15 minutes after ordering -- my friend's took a bit longer, so they gave her a brownie for waiting. COCKTAIL - 11 This is the half za'atar and half three cheese blend manoushe, cut into fourths. The flatbread was soft and fluffy, very much fresh out of the oven. I tried a piece of the za'atar first, which was nutty and citrusy. It is a bit greasier than I thought, but it added good flavor. Next, I tried the three cheese blend piece, which was very savory. I'm not sure what cheeses they used, but it was strong and a bit pungent. I enjoyed it! I made it through almost three pieces of the flatbread and had to take the rest home. It sat in my friend's car for a few hours (under the shade) while we were off doing other things, and it was still delicious! read more

Small but inviting, Z&Z is located right next to Carmen's A quick summer lunch here was a treat indeed. We ordered their lemonade and Harissa Chicken manoushe, which was the perfect size for us honestly, but if you're super famished, you might want to get your own manoushe. I could've done with a tad less tartness in my lemonade and dill on the manoushe. Someone even checked in to make sure everything was ok and cleaned our plates pretty quickly after we were done. Five stars for freshness and atmosphere! Z&Z is a cozy neighborhood eatery specializing in Manoushe-- traditional Lebanese flatbread similar to pizza. Since it was our first visit, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and the woman at the front desk patiently explained the menu to us. We ordered the popular Lebanese Bride and Classic Palestinian Za' atar, pairing them with refreshing mint tea and a yogurt drink. Everything was delicious, and we loved the vibrant yet relaxed vibe of the place. Without a doubt, we'll be back soon! read more

Fresh and delicious!! They pump out manoushe super fast in a cute shop. I've been familiar with Z&Z since their farmers market days and was glad to see their success blossom into a brick and mortar shop. Came on a weekday for a late lunch and the shop was busy, but not inundated with people. Nonetheless, we quickly ordered and our order came out in what felt like 5 minutes??!! It was piping hot and DELICIOUS. The cheese portion was nice and savory while the classic slices were tender with the lovely spice mix. It tastes even better than I remember from the farmers market! Looking forward to returning to try some of the other toppings. Wish the shop were closer to DC, but glad they're dishing these out over in Rockville! read more

EXCELLENT Levantine spot in Rockville (close to Carmen's and Shanghai Taste, iykyk). The karak chai was one of the best drinks I have ever had. Of the beloved flatbreads we tried: Hot Halaby Honey, Jibneh, and the Lebanese bride. All excellent. Small inside but very cute decor. The bakery was recently listed as one of the best 25 restaurants in DC by The New York Times and I can see why! Will be back soon. read more
You MUST come here! Everything here is made from scratch with high quality ingredients and with love (I can taste the love.) I got the Lebanese Bride and requested some Toum (garlic spread) to be added on top. Every component tasted incredibly fresh and vibrant- from the mint, Za'atar, tomatoes, cucumbers, labneh, and toum. It was very well balanced in terms of flavor profiles. I absolutely loved it and would come again to try a different flavor option! Not to mention, the ambiance is inviting and the service is quick with attentive staff. Come check Z&Z out! read more
I had never tried or even heard of manoushe, so I was eager to try Z&Z. Manoushe is essentially a crispy Middle Eastern flatbread. I have only had the classic manoushe, which features a generous helping of za'atar, and it is delicious. I would love to try their other options. Z&Z is a cute, small shop with limited seating inside and small tables outside (shared with Carmen's Italian ice). You can eat the manoushe on site, take it to go, or even buy it frozen from local Whole Foods! I liked it so much that I later bought some from Whole Foods. Why buy a corporate brand frozen pizza when you can buy a frozen manoushe from a loving local family-owned business? Z&Z also sells ingredients on site such as za'atar, so it would be a good place to get a gift for someone who wants to support a local Palestinian business. Service is friendly. First I saw a video of the owner demonstrating what Manoushe is. Next, I fell in love at the entrance when the aroma wafted past us. This spot is the SPOT for lunch in the area. It was packed, but barely any wait til our delicious orders came out. So delicious. I also bought some spices and goat soap off of the tiny market shelf. Just love this quirky family run business. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and was impressed with the service and food! Nassiha welcomed us in as soon stepped through the door and was so friendly and kind with her recommendations. She let me try a sample of the orange blossom lemonade before I purchased it and chatted to us for awhile about the restaurant. My husband and I ordered the Lebanese bride and chicken harissa and both were fantastic. I liked the chewy crust on the outside and crispy crust under the toppings. The baklava was also the best baklava I've had recently, so fresh, crispy, not too sweet, full of walnuts. So happy I was introduced to it here! Will 100% be coming back and can't wait to try the coffee soon! read more

Unusual and delicious Z & Z offers a variety of made to order flatbreads with Middle Eastern flavors. We tried 4 different flatbreads and each was delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is limited indoor seating and outdoor seating. read more
One of my favorite spots in the DMW. This place has been on my list for a few weeks and I was pleasantly delighted! I got the classic manoushe and the harissa chicken manoushe. The classic manoushe came with z'atar seasoning on top and tons of olive oil. Very good. My only critique is it was a bit over cooked but still great! The Harrisa chicken was delicious and probably my favorite one. The chicken was juicy, the yogurt was homemade and flavorful and the toppings were fresh. I also got a side of the hot sauce. For $2 they could have given me more. I thought $2 for a small serving was a bit ridiculous. They do sell their seasonings and sauces in the store inside. Will go back to buy some to keep in my house. The inside is small but inviting and staff is nice. Overall I can't wait to go back. Family owned Palestinian restaurant was recommended by a friend and stopped by. Staff was very helpful and offered recommendations. The space is small and feels cozy! I enjoyed the art on the wall and the overall atmosphere. The beef hot honey pepperoni was the star for my family and I. It was flavorful and had a nice kick to it. The Lebanese bride was more on the fresh side but not as flavorful. I also got hummus and pita bread. The hummus was delicious and the pita bread was fluffy! I did feel like overall the prices were generally expensive. They have a harissa chicken that I will be trying next. read more
