    Vegetable pizza
    Victoria S.

Got takeaway from them and it was delicious! Got a 16" vegetable pizza and an order of spaghetti pomodoro. The pasta was a huge portion (can easily feed 2) with a savory tomato-based sauce infused with garlic, basil and olive oil. It was topped with melted mozzarella cheese. The pizza had a thin crust that got a thicket towards the edges and a good crisp. Held the sauce and toppings well. Cheese was not oily, plenty of vegetables in each bite. It had the typical onions, peppers, and mushrooms. It also had cubed zucchini and yellow squash, which is not common in most veggie pizzas. It added good crunch and texture. Pizza was filling but not heavy. Service was efficient and friendly. Comfort food at its best!

Everyone needs to give this place some love! It's a beautiful space with delicious food. It was VERY quiet for a Friday evening, but it was also ridiculously cold outside. You get bread with olive and yogurt spreads to start. Yes, please! I then got the beef stew, which was delicious and so comforting. My friend and I shared the chicken kebob, which was tender. She ordered a pasta dish with chicken. I was surprised that the chicken in her pasta was the same as the kebob, but zero complaints. It was delicious! We then split baklava and tiramisu. The baklava wasn't too sweet or sticky and had a nice crunch. The tiramisu was to die for if you like a denser cake. Think Boston cream but tiramisu. My friend and I were talking about returning before the end of our meal!

Lobster ravioli with Argentinian, shrimp and blistered cherry tomatoes

I was introduced to this restaurant for a friend's birthday party and it didn't disappoint. We all shared appetizers of Caprese, zucchini, blossoms, calamari, and bruschetta.. and it didn't stop there then we ordered from menus. I had lobster ravioli with Argentinian shrimp and Bersted cherry tomatoes.. absolutely lovely. The shrimps were big and sweet. The four ravioli was filled with luscious lobster and cheese.. the focaccia bread was drizzled with olive oil oil, sea salt and rosemary. Extremely delicious. I hear that this is the same dough that they use for their pizzas.. Friends ordered Cacio de Pepe, gnocchi with pears and Gorgonzola, TaliaTele, Bolognese, and tuna with Pasta. Johny and Carmine were absolutely fabulous hosts and even mama Lena stepped out of the kitchen to bid the birthday girl warm wishes. We will be returning to this extremely small family owned place which cooks everything with love, so I am sure their pizzas will be divine as well. Reservations only.

Chicken and Kafta Combo with rice and salad.

We were here when the location was a sandwich shop. It's now an Italian-Persian restaurant. Opened about 8 months, they recently expanded their footprint so there is much more seating than before, as well as a stage for music and a belly dancer (who we missed by an hour during our Friday visit). It's a nice place. You order at the counter and then grab a seat in the same room or in the new dining area, which is very comfortable. We opted for an order of hummus, the Spicy Chicken Kabob and the Combo Chicken Kafta kabob. Each comes with rice and salad, but my partner opted for all salad. The hummus and pita were good, and, for $6, a nice portion. The owner also brought over a tray with minced olives, tzatziki and more pita. We enjoyed them both. The salad with the entrees was surprisingly a hit with both of us. Cold, crisp fresh salad with a tasty vinegrette. My rice was well prepared. The spicy chicken was not very spicy, but the owner asked if we wanted something to spice it further and brought over a cup of a jalapeño sauce that did the job. My chicken and kafta were both moist and flavorful. If you order water, they'll have you grab a bottle ($1.75) of cold water from the frig. We enjoyed the Persian side of things, but, based on pictures and a few reviews, I do want to come back and try some things from the Italian side. As I mentioned, they have evening entertainment some nights and they are open till midnight every night.

    Ghormeh sabzi and Persian pizza

I have been wanting to try this spot since they had unique items on their menu. We got their tahdig tacos and pizza w/ ghormeh sabzi, and the other half was Persian pizza. It was so delicious, which I highly recommend trying out! I really enjoyed the tahdig tacos since it had just enough crunch, but they were a tad messy!

I came across this new place thanks to our CM Andrew and was intrigued by a Persian/Italian restaurant. I went with a few guy friends to have dinner and it was a great experience! The menu is small and easy to decide. However some of the items on the online menu weren't on the menu in store. The restaurant is small so there isn't much seating but it is nice and cozy. You order at the front and the food is promptly brought out to you. We ordered a few items, including the Persian pizza, tahdig taco, kubideh wrap and margharita pizza. The pizzas were delicious and well flavored. I really loved the tahdig taco! Next time I will try the traditional Persian pizza that the owner told me about! Definitely worth checking out! Also the food here is confirmed halal except for the prosciutto (obvs)

Food was very good and well portioned. All the pizzas that are pictured are 10 inches they have a bigger size too. Fairly small inside, maybe 5-6 tables and the counter seating. Parking is next to the 7-11. You order by going to the cashier I think? Person never came to our table. We never got complimentary water and that seemed like it was for everyone too? Otherwise the experience was good. I highly recommend and will be coming back. I forgot you also get free pita and yogurt/olive dips to start, which were also fresh and delicious. Love the fusion of Italian and middle eastern here.

We ordered take out from here recently and overall things were really tasty. We got the chicken parm sub with fries (so good!), the chicken/koobideh kabob combo (tasty but not quite as flavorful as mama joon's for instance), and the vodka pasta (could have used more sauce in my opinion). Overall really solid and look forward to trying more thin

Upon figuring out where and what to eat for lunch at work, one of my coworkers remembered seeing an instagram post from "The Moco Show" then he remembered them posting about a NEW spot called ITALIAMO! Italian & Persian Food Infusion - Wow! Such a different and unique twist and I was here to try it out. Looking at their menu online, there was so much options to choose from and great prices. We called & got all our questions answered, placed our orders and were informed that they just opened not even 2 weeks ago. This spot was easy to find and was near to a gas station. Beautiful, clean and pleasant place. Since this was a pickup order, I don't have that much to speak about inside since I didn't dine in. Customer Service was AMAZING!!!!!! I believe the guy I spoke with was the owner and he was truly a GEM!!! Even with a minor issue, he provided great communication and service with a huge smile. His energy was beautiful and I felt like I was visiting someone I already knew. Menus and online website is so beautiful and well done, they definitely have a great marketing team especially for a being a new spot. Finally, I got back to work and excited to eat my food. I didn't order much since I wasn't sure What to expect. TAHDIG SALMON TACOS OMGGGGGGGG!!!!! This was sooooo different, unique and absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I'm not sure What the shell was made of but it wasn't your typical taco shell (semi crunchy & semi soft). Inside was a layered of saffron rice (the part that's crunchy at bottom of pot Mmmmm) along with lettuce, Persian pico de gallo (made with cucumbers) & grilled salmon chunks. It also came with sauces on the side. This was incredible and I'm mad I didn't order 2, if you get this please order at least 2 because even though it's filling, 1 isn't enough. I'm coming back for this sooner than later. I wanted to try the Rigatoni Alla Vodka but most definitely next time. I hope they come out with a dish that has both Italian and Persian food on 1 plate. As per owner, their current menu will be expanded and will include in house homemade desserts (I can't wait). I will definitely be back to try more of their food!!!!

    Koobideh
    Marcus N.

Came here on a whim for their opening day. The menu was pretty diverse but I settled on the koobideh platter. The entree did not disappoint as it came with a good amount of food and was full of flavor. It also comes with a side of bread, the traditional white sauce and also a spicy green sauce upon request. I prefer it to places such as Moby Dick's. The service was friendly too and I look forward to trying out other items they offer here.

    I Love Cupakes I.

Took my mom here for lunch today and we loved it! The exterior has 3 nice dining tables and the interior has about 8-10 tables. Lizeth was very welcoming and Matt the owner checked on us several times. We both had kubideh and it was the absolute best!!! The warm soft bread that comes with it is wonderful and has 2 dipping sauces that were super good too. The menu is excellent and we can't wait to go back!

Put your order in at the counter and shop while they make your food- it's so efficient! My go to order: -Combination koobideh: 1 beef kebab and 1 chicken kebab served over a bed of saffron rice and sides of lavash bread, grilled tomatoes, onion, butter and sumac. This feeds me and my husband for two meals- so worth it! -Hummus: they have the best hummus in Rockville!! Garlicky, smooth, and dare I say, luxurious. You HAVE to try it! -Shirazi: refreshing cucumber, tomato, and onion salad with I think dried mint and lemon. So simple but so good. I could eat a whole container of this with hummus and rice. -Fried eggplant dip: this is fabulous too, and tastes so unique with the whey ingredient. You just have to believe me and try it. The dry mint makes it taste like tea leaves and so fragrant. -Their sandwiches are fantastic too and remind me of Vietnamese banh mi with the pickles, deli meat, and fresh herbs. We like the Kalbas sandwich- garlic mortadella with pistachio! The market is my go to place for dried chickpeas, olives, walnuts, Barbary bread, Persian cucumbers, feta, Persian yogurt, local eggs (Poolesville), fresh and dried herbs, olive oil, and so much more! I cannot get the same quality elsewhere, and I appreciate their careful and thoughtful sourcing. They also make fresh cookies in house- my fave is the cookie mix that has like 5 different cookies. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, and the place is super well organized and clean. It's always so calming and enjoyable to shop there. And they are a local business that has been around for a long time and clearly a beloved pillar in the community. Definitely do yourself a favor and check them out!

To my luck, we had great Uzbek food less than 15 mins away! It was a while ago but we ordered the samsa, manti, kutabi, plov, and chohohbli, and I can't recall what else but we loved it! Last night my husband and I decided to dine in. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with cultural artifacts and art. This may just be a me thing but the serveware was envy worthy. It was gorgeous. I'm obsessed with beautiful dishware. There were only two people taking orders and serving food for an almost full dining room so we were understanding of a bit of a wait time. The staff were very friendly and checked in on us when they could. We ordered the khachipuri, samsa, oxtail, chohobli, steamed rice, pilmeni, and hot tea. Both the khachipuri and samsa were flaky pastries: khachapuri filled with a salty stretchy cheese with a cheese pull that tasted better than it was Instagram-able and samsa filled with a savory meat/onion mixture served with a tomato based sauce. Get one per person because you will not want to share. We ordered fried mini dumplings which are filled with meat and also served with same tomato based sauce that came with the samsa. They were delicious but afterwards I saw that you can get them steamed in a broth, I told myself I have to get that next time. The slow-cooked, tender oxtail was served over the best crispy, fat-fried potatoes I've ever had. The chohobli (chicken stew) was fall off the bone into a delicious tomato-based stew. Worth a visit - help keep authentic restaurants in business.
