I had the tomato soup with grilled cheese dippers, which was very filling and an all around good comfort food choice for a rainy and windy day. Have you ever went somewhere and the people working there were just SO HAPPY that they made you SO HAPPY?! Rare, I know. Today was my first time visiting the Washington location. The general manager was extremely pleasant and helpful when it came to deciding what to order. (Along with all of the other employees) My soup was piping hot, complementary bread was baked fresh. My salad was HUGE! I don't eat meat, or cheese - so they hooked me up with extra veggies which wasn't a problem at all. First time here. The bf and I got to try several soups. I've never been to a place that let's you sample the soups and thought that was really cool. The little cups and spoons were adorable! Honestly I didn't like any of them. I felt bad but the seasoning was a bit light. I got the southwest turkey sandwich and the bacon Mac and cheese to go. Both delicious. I felt bad for not liking the soup after she was so sweet to let me try like 5 of them. Overall, we will be back but just not for the soup. Was craving a Caesar salad so decided to drop in to Zoup. So glad I did because I had no idea how great this place is! You walk up to the soup area and the guy behind it asks me if it was my first time. I shyly admitted I was a Zoup virgin and, like a gentleman, he slowly and gently took my Z card hahaha!!! But seriously floored me when he told me that I could sample any/all of the soups. I might have been the virgin starting out but now it was my turn to take advantage of him. Tried 6 different soups before flipping a coin between the lively lemon broccoli, so good, and the lobster bisque. Lobster bisque called heads and it won. So I ended doing the "Take Two" option of the menu and got the lobster bisque soup with the lively Caesar salad and couldn't have been happier. I just hope he calls...hahaha!!! Enjoy!! read more

First time eating here. Ate a late lunch. Brian H. was a excellent representative of the company brand. Since it was our first time here, he explained everything to us. 12 always rotating soups, which they encourage to sample, complimentary bread. They had two cold soups also. He checked on us to make sure everything tasted good and took some of our plates. I ordered the Cranberry Almond Sonoma salad. Hubby Chicken Bacon Cobb salad. Junior had a cup of the Lobster Bisque with french bread. The Cranberry Almond Sonoma salad was excellent. I was a little scarred of the gorgonzola over powering the salad, but it is mixed well with the raspberry vinaigrette. I did get to try the Lobster Bisque with a bite of french bread. The french bread was fresh and crunchy. The soup had a great cream with old bay flavor. I want to definitely come back and try the Chicken Bacon Cobb. Loads of bacon. For a place that specializes in soup, salad and sandwiches, their dressings are horrendous. They are so bad - we passed them around and couldn't figure out if they were spoiled or not. I'll have to stop patronizing this place. For the sake of all salad eaters everywhere, make your own dressings. Or at least buy good ones. I can't get that rancid taste out of head. This was my first visit here. Let me just say, I was very surprised! When I walked in, I was immediately welcomed. I was asked if this was my first visit, which it was. She took the time to explain to me the different ways I could order, what all I could order, how soups change weekly, and offered if I'd like to sample anything. The entire staff was very pleasant, seemed happy to be there, and were very welcoming. Now for the food. I ordered the Corn and Crab chowder with a maple bacon ham sandwich. Delicious! The soup was hearty and tasteful. As was the sandwich! It was sliced ham like you'd slice off the bone, not lunch meat like you'd get at Subway. I had the Singapore squash soup, Thai soup, and pumpkin soup. I found that all three had mild flavors, meant to appeal to all people, but not bursting with crazy flavor. The Thai soup had the most flavor. The pumpkin has the most calories and the second ingredient on the list is brown sugar. I could definitely taste the sweetness of this soup. Our first time visiting this restaurant. Service was great, greeted with a friendly smile. Informed that we could try some or all fo the soups... how fun. They failed to ask if we wanted half or whole sandwiches, so we got half by default... manager came to visit and see how we liked it, we told him it was good, food was tasty, roasted veggie wrap was a bit sparse of roasted veggies, soups were great, but the situation about the sandwich, he apologized, then brought us a whole new one! Took my elderly mother here for lunch and it was the worst experience! If you are looking for a relaxing lunch, this is not it. The owner was exceptionally rude when my mom told her the soup tasted funny. Instead of just replacing it, she scolded her and told her she had people taste it and it was just fine. Later, she came back over to the table to apologize, which was great....and then returned once more a few minutes later to yell at us and accuse us of cutting in front of other people to order....even though she was the one who took our order. Yesterday, I went to Panera and ordered a you pick two which cost almost $12 for the same, except the portions were 1/3 of what Zoup offers! They do let you taste ahead of time which is cool and they have a flight of 3 soup tasting menu. They had a menu at the counter for power bowls but were apparently out of it and decided to change it out from kale Caesar power bowl to chicken lettuce Cesar salad without telling us they were out of the power bowls. So my husband got something he didn't want. Overall was not a very satisfying meal in terms of quality. Some of the soup basically tasted like canned soup. Salad was kinda like the pre made ones you can get from grocery store and wasnt as fresh as I had hoped for. Will NOT be back. read more

Horrible service. Either someone took my order or my order was given to the wrong person. I was told my order would be remade. Ten minutes later, I still did not have my order. I went the counter to tell someone that I did not receive my order, and I wanted my money back. The person tried to talk me into having my order remade after she quizzed co-workers about my order. It then took 4-5 minutes for the owner to enter for a refund. When I left, I was told thank you, but no one ever said sorry for the mistake. I realize this location is new, but I find it unacceptable to not stop and remake an order, or to say sorry. read more
