Not bad, not bad at all. Heading up to City Winery for a 3:30 pm show, stopped in the food hall to grab a bite. Zaab Zaab is a name in Thai food so you can't go wrong with anything... is it pricey ? I've been on 4 trips to Europe & London this year and prices here are similar to markets everywhere. Forgot the name of the dish but it was a curry with chicken & noodles and was very good with a nice spice level. Pleasant to sit facing the water looking out. I honestly didn't think that Pier 57 was going to do well when it first opened during the pandemic.. it was fairly empty and not very enticing. But there were people coming from all over the place with Little Island right next door. This is a great area and is a great place for visitors to enjoy the west side of the city.

After making a few indecisive trips around the Pier 57 food hall, I stumbled upon Zaab Zaab! I ordered the Lychee Frosé and it was delicious! It comes with 2 pieces of lychee and was just what I needed on a hot summer day. I will say it melted pretty quick and was priced at $14 but it hit the spot. You can taste a bit of the alcohol but not at all in an overwhelming way. I'd come back and try some of the food options!

saw fresh ingredients behind counter and typed on a screen for green curry chicken -- 2 of them -- requested one to be mild (typed in a note) -- but they both came regular spicy (mild not an option) -- which was ok after all I liked the fresh lil' thai eggplants - sort of look like a combo of cherry-tomatos n' figs.. quantity was nice too - not too lil' not too much.. hit spot.. price $36 (includes tip) for two for a drink, I strolled to nearby Harlem Hops bar, got a quality brewski from tap.. ate at pulled-together marble tables with some church friends, to my left just beyong giant windows was Little Island, dwelling in green water under grey skies

Was recommended this place and decided to try. The food was quick and good with plenty of seating at the bar across the way. It's a little hard to find since it's not in the middle of Market 57. It's off to the right side facing the water. We ordered the papaya salad (Som Tum Pla Ra) with the fermented fish sauce. It offered a vinegary almost pickled flavor which nicely offset the rest of the meal. We tried the curry crab which was delicious, one of my favorites. It was a rice noodle with curry topped with a soft shell crab and half a hard boiled egg, bean sprouts and raw string beans. The larb beef was also good, which was more tangy and best eaten in the lettuce wrap. The chicken curry puff was perfectly golden on the outside, but soft and pillowy on the inside with coconut, a bit on the sweeter side but very good another favorite. It was enough food for 2 people for dinner and came out to $64. Apparently they are known for their spice and we did not go spicy enough as you can choose your spice level when you order. But if you like spice, definitely try this out.

I have to come right out and say it-- I've never been so enthusiastic about a "take-out" place…read moreafter just 1 meal. Ever. At work, the Godfather wanted to order (unusual for him to suggest it; usually I'm the 1 pushing for us to order out, and he's invariably resistant, although ultimately, he's acquiescent, although just as invariably he blames me for "pushing him into it" as he gobbles down whatever food it was we've ordered). I was willing but wanted to try something different than our usual fare (burgers, Chinese, Japanese, sandwiches). Someone else mentioned Exotic Eats, as a younger co-worker had ordered from there recently and seemed to enjoy what he had eaten. I asked, "Does this younger co-worker have a discriminating palate?" (Not actually being quite the jerk I oftentimes seem to be, I did of course use less pretentious, overblown verbiage in asking my question.) The reply was, "He's young; he'll order almost anything and like it." So...it might be great; it might be horrible. So we took a chance. They deliver, and I was intrigued by their on-line menu. I can't remember what the Godfather ordered, or another co-worker who wanted us to include him in what had once been known as the Lunchbox Mafia, but I ordered "the Island Bowl." Sliced jerk chicken breast on a bed of Mac & Cheese with jerk BBQ sauce. Being hungry, I ordered a side of blueberry cornbread, and the dessert of banana pudding cheesecake. All of it washed down with my ever-present bottle of Poland Spring water. We didn't have to wait long for it to be delivered. As I mentioned in my introductory remarks, I found the food fabulous. The jerk chicken in its BBQ sauce had a tangy sting, but it wasn't unpleasant or pain-producing. And I have to say-- the Mac & Cheese was the best I've had since my late mother used to make it for me in childhood. It's a baked "dry" Mac & Cheese as opposed to the overly sauced (and bland) version you get in most restaurants these days (all it was missing was the crumbled crackers that my mother used to put on top of it). Pure deliciousness, as they say. The blueberry cornbread was the perfect accompaniment, and the banana pudding cheesecake was wonderfully smooth, creamy, and decadent. I wasn't feeling bloated to the point of discomfort once I had finished it all, but I definitely felt "well fed." My fellow partakers were equally as enthused. Prices were fair, portions were immeasurably more than adequate, and the meal was luxuriously satisfying on every single level. As mentioned, delivery didn't take long at all, and it arrived hot. I'm not entirely sure how to classify the cuisine. The website described it as "Soul Food" with a "Caribbean Spirit." A long-time friend of mine is Jamaican, and she used to throw a big feast for friends and family every summer (I was usually the only white person invited, which was never any sort of a problem, although once a little kid of 4 or 5 looked at me with hostility and said, "What are YOU doing here?"), before health issues sidelined that annual event. She was a great cook, and everything was fresh-- jerk chicken, fish, ackee that always reminded me of scrambled eggs, breadfruit, sorrel liquor, etc. Despite the quality of the food served, I never really acquired a taste for Jamaican cuisine (I ventured out once to a Jamaican restaurant in Perth Amboy with friends; they were enthusiastic about it but it wasn't of the same quality as my friend served, and obviously didn't transform me into a "fan"), but I don't know that Exotic Eats is Jamaican per se. But I know that what I had was delicious and filling, and I can't wait to order from Exotic Eats again. Obviously, very highly recommended.

The biggest surprise, though, was the sushi. We ordered the Blu Roll, and it was phenomenal. It honestly ranks among the best sushi rolls I've had in quite a while. I ordered it medium rare and thats the way it came. I didnt order any sauce on the side for it but maybe u should. I figured the whipped potatoes and truffle creamed spinach would be good sides that can double as sauces. But their truffle butter sauce sounds pretty good. Chicken parm- it was surprisingly good. The cheese complimented the chicken so well. I think I liked this more than my steak. Whipped potatoes- delicious Truffle creamed spinach- pretty good as well Overall, i had a nice evening here. The menu may be the same, but the food is not. Every dish we ordered lacked the quality and consistency that made this restaurant stand out. The flavors were flat, the seasoning was inconsistent, several dishes arrived lukewarm, and the presentation looked rushed. Nothing had the attention to detail or care that I remembered. It genuinely feels like the kitchen is being run differently. While the menu hasn't changed, the execution certainly has. The recipes may be the same on paper, but the food tastes completely different. The balance of flavors, the quality of the ingredients, and the consistency that once made this place special just aren't there anymore. You can tell the person leading the kitchen is no longer the same because the food no longer reflects the standards this restaurant used to be known for. For the prices they're charging, I expected so much better. Instead, I left disappointed and wondering what happened to a restaurant I used to recommend to everyone. Unfortunately, this visit convinced me not to come back. I sincerely hope they can get back to the level of quality they once had, but until then, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Anyways, I typically don't believe when people say something is close so whenever I visit her we just order in delivery rather than motivate (ie put on a bra) and go out. But dang it this is literally. Right. Next. Door. As in I can sit on the deck outside of the restaurant and look in her living room. Smh. I say all that to say IVE BEEN MISSING OUT!! Her bday was this weekend so she booked a large table for family and friends. I was relieved to see they had valet. Parking is atrocious in this development so to only pay $10 to be 10 feet from the door was awesome. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff know her well and treated her as a valued guest. Here's the rundown: We went for BRUNCH. They have a prix fixe for $41 of most of the brunch items and it includes 2 Bellini, 2 mimosas, or 2 Bloody Marys. Good right? Welp what you don't know is that their cocktail menu is incredible so to heck with the prix fixe. We got mimosas at home!! Make it rain on em Wesley! -Fat friendly seating. No arms, solid chairs, comfortable cushions. We were there for 4 hours and my booty was never sore. -Food. We tore it up and it was all delicious. My half of the table had the farm house breakfast sando, the fried chicken sando, French omelette, huevo rancheros. We shared the crab hush puppies, wings, calamari, goat cheese salad, and blueberry pancakes. I was nosey and saw that some of my other table mates ordered the skirt steak and eggs and the short rib. -Drinks. I know my husband loves mango so I suggested he get the smoked mango drink. I didn't know it came with theatrics. Dinner and a show?! Btw by the time our table was done almost everyone had ordered one. Lychee martini, Paloma, old fashioned, midnight espresso. Also all very good! -The View. Our party was too large to sit outside but we did sit right at the floor to ceiling windows. The restaurant was virtually empty inside and had plenty of tables outside, but I was still told that I needed to wait until my companion arrived before I could be seated. In the meantime, I parked myself at the bar and gazed out the massive windows at the stunning Manhattan skyline views. When my friend arrived, we asked for a table on their outdoor deck, which was located just to the side of the restaurant, so that it would not block the views for those in the indoor dining room. We were seated at one of their comfortable tables, but there was some strange water dripping down onto my legs, so we moved to another one. I was not drinking that night, so while my friend ordered a glass of wine, I opted for the Panoma mocktail made of Seedlip Grove 42 non-alcoholic spirit, peach, agave, lime, and club soda. It was sweet, bubbly, and refreshing. We received a basket of toasted, dry bread with their proprietary, aromatic olive oil. We also munched on two shared appetizers. First, we opted for a bowl of their Calamari to be grilled and served with a lemon emulsion. The squid rings were tender, and the citrus marinade was fantastic! It was my favorite bite of the evening. The Traditional Greek Salad was also tasty, though. It included chunks of vine-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olives, red peppers, barrel-aged feta cheese, oregano, aged balsamic, and extra virgin olive oil. A few of the tomatoes were a bit mushy, but the majority of the salad was very fresh. For our entrees, we both ordered the Lavraki, a mild and flaky sea bass, which was apparently grilled whole over charcoal. Though the filet was supposed to be de-boned, I definitely found a half-dozen or so in my butterflied piece of fish. It was topped with some sort of sauce that was similar to hollandaise, as well as a bunch of capers. It was a very enjoyable plate of seafood. However, since it did not come with any side dishes, we decided to share the Foraged Mushrooms and the Brussel Sprouts. The fungi were varied, offering a blend of aromatics and layers of earthy flavors. The sprouts were a bit salty and overcooked, but not terrible. Once our meal had concluded and we had turned down dessert, we were offered water refills twice. Both times we said that we would love more water, and both times it never arrived. So, that was a bit odd. Otherwise, the service was fine, but not specifically memorable, aside from the manager wishing us a nice evening and thanking us for coming. While the food was above average, the real draws of Molos were the amazing views available from a majority of their tables, as well as the sophisticated elegance of their indoor dining room.
