    Basil Fried Rice
    Pratima M.

An outpost of a popular Thai spot tucked into Time Out Market on the ground floor -- I've been meaning to try their Manhattan restaurant for a while, so this was a great way to sample some flavors. Their Basil Fried Rice was delicious and hearty, with a pretty large serving size -- it was plenty filling to split. I appreciate they have so many vegetarian-friendly options. The market has a limited menu, but this has inspired me to hit up the actual restaurant too!

Came here recently to get my Thai food fix and was super happy. This is an outpost in Time Out Market in DUMBO. It can be a bit tricky to find this spot as it's in the very back of the maze of different food spots. We ordered the dumplings and the drunken noodle with chicken. Both were made so well. The dumplings were juicy, chock full of delicately spices chicken, wrapped in paper and fried crispy on the outside. What a crunchy pocket full of delight!! The sweet sauce that came with the dumplings, accompanies it so well. The drunken noodle was also so delicious. Noodles come in bite size portions with thin slivered chicken and fried basil. I loved this dish. I aired for extra spicy and they did not disappoint. They even gave me chili pepper on the side which was super spicy and hit the spot for me. I highly recommend coming here and trying their food, especially if you're not in the mood to trekk all the way to the city to their restaurant. I will definitely be back to try more options on their menu, especially the chicken wings. Those looked amazing.

I ordered from my table and the food was delivered to my table in good time. I ordered the scallion & egg fried rice- it was perfectly cooked & flavored.

Cute little spot to get a Thai craving. The food is very good with decent price meals. I got the red curry with beef yesterday and the broth was very tasty with the right amount of spice. There is also some seating area so you can simply watch as they make your food haha. Great service and good local spot :)

This is one of the many food spots in the Time Out market at 55 Water Street. There are a bunch of different food stalls and plenty of seating throughout the market. If the weather is nice, I would recommend eating outside so you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Manhattan Bridge. I ordered the Pad Se-ew with chicken. The food is definitely overpriced, and any protein is charged as an add-on. The food came out quickly, and it was good, not great. This area caters to tourists, so most places tend to be overpriced for no reason. Keep your expectations to a minimum, and you won't be disappointed.

Pad Thai with Egg and Chicken Wings.

With so many choices in the Time Out Market, I decided to eat at Wayla as the chicken wings looked really good. It was a busy day, so the food took 15 minutes to be ready. I ordered the Pad Thai with Egg ($15) and Chicken Wings ($14). The wings were crispy and good, but could use a bit more sauce. They were decent-sized, but overall pricey for 7 prices. As for the pad thai, it was okay. Nothing too special about this one, but I didn't want to wait in another line for different food. Nothing too special about this spot and a bit pricey as with all the spots inside of Time Out Market.

Wayla serves up their fair share of good Thai food in NYC's Brooklyn area; aka Dumbo. Was excited to seem them located in the TimeOut Market. The staff was welcoming and the line moved quickly. On this visit I decided to try the See Krong Moo Yang, "ribs" and Peek Gai Tod - "chicken wings". The food was great and I'll definitely be back when I'm in the Dumbo area.

thai tea & drunken noodles with beef

thai tea was delicious and refreshing, drunken noodles were good also. though, i wouldn't mind sprinkling some chicken boullion on top for more flavor. its a bit difficult to find seating inside, especially if you're a large party so i recommend finding a seat first. they have qr codes on the tables and they serve the food out to you!!!! this market/food hall is a short walk from dumbo and its a great spot to take friends and family who are visiting the area. that said, prices are a bit high, especially if you want to add meat to your dishes. my cousin and his gf got chicken pad thai (mid) and beef pad see ew (too sweet)

This is inside the Timeout market. I got the fried rice and my friend got a Pad Thai. Kind of pricey but it was good! The staff was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.

Probably the best pad Thai I've had on the east coast! One star minus is because of the steep price--$25? For pad Thai with tofu. Everything is add on: tofu, shrimp, chicken, etc. service was super friendly and nice. Not sure whether traditional flavor but definitely authentic and delicious. Would try the independent location next time.

Stopped in the Timeout Market after attending an event at Sohoworks. Decided on Wayla because the Thai food display looked really good. Ordered the spicy basil fried rice with fried chicken thighs. This food was so good. It looked good but it tasted even better than I expected. I couldn't stop eating it.

    Pad Se-Ew with Beef.

At this limited menu outpost in the Time Out market, I rolled the dice between drunken noodle and pad se ew, and i added beef as my protein. This time the pad se-ew came up and it was as fantastic as the reviews. I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind a chain of these around the city.

This has always been one of my preferred locations, both personally and professionally, which makes this experience especially disappointing. On this occasion, I was visiting as part of my work responsibilities. The individuals I support are on limited incomes and cannot afford meals from establishments such as yours, so they bring their own lunches while staff members purchase food and beverages from your business. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.

I rarely went home invoking a strong enthusiastic response to come back to eat something again. Their strong suite was location, space, and variety. What I loved most--besides having a reliable bathroom in Midtown--was what it became for the people around it. It was a place where office workers could decompress after work, grab a beer with coworkers, or catch up with friends they hadn't seen in a while. There was something refreshing about the atmosphere. People seemed relaxed and unguarded, shedding the polished professional persona they'd worn all day. It felt like watching the city exhale for a little while. And another thing I appreciated was their attempt to represent different nationalities under one roof. The more common items performed the worse and that's probably when you come to a space dedicated to hawker style cuisine, you expect to try some of their more novel stuff like Coffee Pork Fried Rice (from a stall that specialized in fried rice) or Noodles in Bechamel. I also frequently enjoyed their only drinks provider for the best Yuen Yang I've ever had. The method for making them seems theatrical at first but when you've had one that wasn't properly aerated, you truly taste the chalky bitter tannins. It was a good thing there was an experience worker there (possibly the owner). Who you got to make your drink was hit or miss because at varying times, my gf would be lucky enough to run into the one guy who could do it with oatmilk (she's lactose intolerant). It's sad to see this place go and there'll be many times ahead of us where we point out that that's where the Urban Hawker used to be.
