Excellent service and food at Sirenetta. My friend really enjoyed her Bday dinner here and we all loved our dishes. They also have a cute small "speak easy" in the back of the restaurant called Backstage. It gets crowded on the weekends so make a reservation. I would not consider this a true speak easy at all, but a nice bar with some music and a mature crowd.

Had an excellent dinner last night at Sirenetta. This was my first dining experience. The atmosphere is quite impressive. Such an open and fresh concept with a lot of seating and privacy. There is a large bar area as well. Further in the back, there is a lounge area with music and an additional bar. Some highlights from my meal included the grilled shrimp and frites and the grilled octopus paired with mole and squash. Both had a great flavor and perfect for sharing as appetizers. My shrimp and scallop aqua panna was excellent. I was able to dip my focaccia in the flavorful stew. Lastly, the hazelnut chocolate cake with red wine ice cream was amazing. Our server checked on us throughout the meal and was very accommodating. I'll definitely be back to check out the winter seasonal menu!

I sat at the bar - enjoyed my cocktail and ordered apps - the lobster biscuit, glazed pork belly, fritto misto, and truffle fries. All were good, but very salty. It was a busy night, the service was not great.

The Black Sea Bass that looked nothing like the Black Sea Bass I was served and I was charged $36

No stars Paid $36 for black sea bass that was as small as a mini fruit tart. I asked the waiter if this was a child's portion. When I ordered the sea bass, the waiter should have told me that the portion size was extremely small. And if you look at Sirenetta's menu online, it has a picture of a Black Sea Bass that looked nothing like the sea bass that was sold to me. And the price printed online is $26 and I was charged $36. I will never dine at Sirenetta again. It's a total rip off! I guess Sirenetta is used to ripping off the young urban professionals that live in Hoboken and never look at their bill. My drink was $17 and maybe had a drip of alcohol in it. It tasted more like a mocktail than a cocktail!

Not sure why the ratings are so low because I thoroughly enjoyed this place. Our waitress, Gabby, was incredible and super attentive. The aesthetic of the restaurant was very sleek and nicely lit with an additional speakeasy-esque bar in the back down the hallway if you're looking for options besides sitting at the front bar for drinks. The oysters were delicious and fresh, the crab cake arancini and burrata were wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the burrata as it came in a ramp pesto sauce along with some tempura vegetables - yum!! Our martinis were also tasty with a good kick. One did the trick! I'm happy I found a seafood spot I plan to frequent in the area.

I'm brand new to the area and have already been to Sirenetta twice and can't say enough great things about this restaurant. Our server, Gabby was super attentive and gave great menu recommendations. The Manager, Andy checked on us several times to make sure everything was ok - and it always was! You can't beat the $1 oysters on Tuesdays and their happy hour specials. After dinner we went to the backstage area where the bartender, Joe was wonderful! We were indecisive about what drinks we wanted and he crafted up something perfect for us. The food, drinks, service, and ambiance were all 10/10. Can't wait to make this a regular spot!

Hard 3.5 Service was really good, but food was somewhat average. Apps - Very small portions, especially for the price. For example the baked clams were $18 for 5 SUPER small clams. Everything sounded good but when presented, nothing looked good... Dinner - I got the linguini and clams and it was pretty good but nothing special. Wouldn't rush back but not a bad dining experience.

Sirenetta, located in uptown Hoboken, is a seafood spinoff of it's sister restaurant across the street, Sorellina. I was very excited to try it, given how cute the decor was, however, found the overall experience to be just ok. *FOOD* -Scallops & Pork Belly ($14) - I'd skip this one. The scallops were ok, but the pork belly was slightly overcooked. It only came with one skewer which I expected more for the pricepoint -Lobster All'Amatriciana ($34) - Rigatoni with lobster chunks and tomatoes. The flavors were very good...there is a slight kick in the dish, but it wasn't too spicy. The pasta could be cooked a bit more. It was a bit too firm for my taste. -Coffee Caramel Crunch ($10) - While the presentation is beautiful, I found it to be just ok. The chocolate exterior was a bit tough to eat. *AMBIENCE* The restaurant is very bright, with its modern decor, and would make a great date spot/catching up with friends. The bar is absolutely beautiful. *SERVICE* Service wasn't bad, nor was it great, we felt like we had to constantly ask for things. Overall, I'm glad I got to try and found that it's just an ok experience, similar to my experience at Sorellina, as I expected more from the food.

This spot will always be dear to me because it was the first date spot with my bf. It's stylish and pretty without being snobby or uptight. The drinks are great, as are all the apps and mains. The bartenders are always friendly and remember you if they see you often. They also have a bar in the back called Backstage that I'm dying to check out. Highly recommend!

    Spicy shrimp frittes

Stopped in for drinks/apps one Saturday at around 5 pm. It was pretty empty around that time and we just sat by the bar. I was really excited to check this place out because it looks like such a cute/modern date spot, and I do love me some seafood. Unfortunately, it could have been better. For drinks, I had the Paper Plane (bulleit, aperol, nonino, lemon) and my husband had The Acadian (bulleit rye, lemon, honey, cassis, rosemary). Both were fine, nothing special but nothing bad about it. For food, we had the Big Eye Tuna Tartare ($18). Not sure if this was worth it because there wasn't much tuna and it tasted pretty basic. I did like how thinly they sliced the sourdough it came with though but with how thin it was, I think they could have spared a couple of more slices (came with two). We also had the Spicy Shrimp & Frittes ($15). This was not bad. I thought for some reason the shrimp would also be fried but my fault for not reading. The spicy tomato oil it came in made for a nice dipping sauce for the McDonald's-esque fries. Overall, it the food/drinks were fine. The two stars come into play when we got the bill. We realized that they gave us the wrong bill. It was actually someone else's bill and it was for a lower amount, so to be nice, we pointed it out to them. They still ended up charging the lower wrong amount anyway, AND charging us for our actual correct bill. When we asked for the original incorrect charge to be voided along with a receipt, the guy was just like "oh yeah it's been done but there's no receipt". So that's when my husband told him no, we needed a receipt and the manager came and provided one for the voided charge. So they were really about to double charge us for something and make us deal with the extra charge with our credit card company. Left a really bad taste. Our first visit to Sirenetta was also our last.

Oysters and clams (all delicious!! Highly recommend!!) savage blonde was my fav

At work, the Godfather wanted to order (unusual for him to suggest it; usually I'm the 1 pushing for us to order out, and he's invariably resistant, although ultimately, he's acquiescent, although just as invariably he blames me for "pushing him into it" as he gobbles down whatever food it was we've ordered). I was willing but wanted to try something different than our usual fare (burgers, Chinese, Japanese, sandwiches). Someone else mentioned Exotic Eats, as a younger co-worker had ordered from there recently and seemed to enjoy what he had eaten. I asked, "Does this younger co-worker have a discriminating palate?" (Not actually being quite the jerk I oftentimes seem to be, I did of course use less pretentious, overblown verbiage in asking my question.) The reply was, "He's young; he'll order almost anything and like it." So...it might be great; it might be horrible. So we took a chance. They deliver, and I was intrigued by their on-line menu. I can't remember what the Godfather ordered, or another co-worker who wanted us to include him in what had once been known as the Lunchbox Mafia, but I ordered "the Island Bowl." Sliced jerk chicken breast on a bed of Mac & Cheese with jerk BBQ sauce. Being hungry, I ordered a side of blueberry cornbread, and the dessert of banana pudding cheesecake. All of it washed down with my ever-present bottle of Poland Spring water. We didn't have to wait long for it to be delivered. As I mentioned in my introductory remarks, I found the food fabulous. The jerk chicken in its BBQ sauce had a tangy sting, but it wasn't unpleasant or pain-producing. And I have to say-- the Mac & Cheese was the best I've had since my late mother used to make it for me in childhood. It's a baked "dry" Mac & Cheese as opposed to the overly sauced (and bland) version you get in most restaurants these days (all it was missing was the crumbled crackers that my mother used to put on top of it). Pure deliciousness, as they say. The blueberry cornbread was the perfect accompaniment, and the banana pudding cheesecake was wonderfully smooth, creamy, and decadent. I wasn't feeling bloated to the point of discomfort once I had finished it all, but I definitely felt "well fed." My fellow partakers were equally as enthused. Prices were fair, portions were immeasurably more than adequate, and the meal was luxuriously satisfying on every single level. As mentioned, delivery didn't take long at all, and it arrived hot. I'm not entirely sure how to classify the cuisine. The website described it as "Soul Food" with a "Caribbean Spirit." A long-time friend of mine is Jamaican, and she used to throw a big feast for friends and family every summer (I was usually the only white person invited, which was never any sort of a problem, although once a little kid of 4 or 5 looked at me with hostility and said, "What are YOU doing here?"), before health issues sidelined that annual event. She was a great cook, and everything was fresh-- jerk chicken, fish, ackee that always reminded me of scrambled eggs, breadfruit, sorrel liquor, etc. Despite the quality of the food served, I never really acquired a taste for Jamaican cuisine (I ventured out once to a Jamaican restaurant in Perth Amboy with friends; they were enthusiastic about it but it wasn't of the same quality as my friend served, and obviously didn't transform me into a "fan"), but I don't know that Exotic Eats is Jamaican per se. But I know that what I had was delicious and filling, and I can't wait to order from Exotic Eats again. Obviously, very highly recommended.

Anyways, I typically don't believe when people say something is close so whenever I visit her we just order in delivery rather than motivate (ie put on a bra) and go out. But dang it this is literally. Right. Next. Door. As in I can sit on the deck outside of the restaurant and look in her living room. Smh. I say all that to say IVE BEEN MISSING OUT!! Her bday was this weekend so she booked a large table for family and friends. I was relieved to see they had valet. Parking is atrocious in this development so to only pay $10 to be 10 feet from the door was awesome. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff know her well and treated her as a valued guest. Here's the rundown: We went for BRUNCH. They have a prix fixe for $41 of most of the brunch items and it includes 2 Bellini, 2 mimosas, or 2 Bloody Marys. Good right? Welp what you don't know is that their cocktail menu is incredible so to heck with the prix fixe. We got mimosas at home!! Between the 10 of us we got cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, coffee. Highlights: -Service was spectacular. Wesley was On It! By the time we finished eating there was another party of 10+ seated right behind us that he was servicing. I hope he enjoys the reward$ of his hard work! Make it rain on em Wesley! -Fat friendly seating. No arms, solid chairs, comfortable cushions. We were there for 4 hours and my booty was never sore. -Food. We tore it up and it was all delicious. My half of the table had the farm house breakfast sando, the fried chicken sando, French omelette, huevo rancheros. We shared the crab hush puppies, wings, calamari, goat cheese salad, and blueberry pancakes. I was nosey and saw that some of my other table mates ordered the skirt steak and eggs and the short rib. -Drinks. I know my husband loves mango so I suggested he get the smoked mango drink. I didn't know it came with theatrics. Dinner and a show?! Btw by the time our table was done almost everyone had ordered one. Lychee martini, Paloma, old fashioned, midnight espresso. Also all very good! -The View. Our party was too large to sit outside but we did sit right at the floor to ceiling windows. In between birthday wishes and food comas we watched the boats, jet skis, and undulating waves of the Hudson. Previous posters are correct - the place is pricey. But high key the people who live in that area are already paying a premium for everything else sooooo. Now, I DONT live in that area lmao so this will be a rarer treat for me. Last night was all mild. No crackers or honey. I got the wagu and a side of fingerling potatoes. No mention that it came with fries. It came out with a side of fries. The waitress could have told me otherwise I would have switched my sides. Thanks for the heaping mound of potatoes. Also the wagu was lacking flavor and the presentation was meh. We still love this place and maybe it was just an off night. I just expect more for a $250 Wednesday night dinner.

The restaurant was virtually empty inside and had plenty of tables outside, but I was still told that I needed to wait until my companion arrived before I could be seated. In the meantime, I parked myself at the bar and gazed out the massive windows at the stunning Manhattan skyline views. When my friend arrived, we asked for a table on their outdoor deck, which was located just to the side of the restaurant, so that it would not block the views for those in the indoor dining room. We were seated at one of their comfortable tables, but there was some strange water dripping down onto my legs, so we moved to another one. I was not drinking that night, so while my friend ordered a glass of wine, I opted for the Panoma mocktail made of Seedlip Grove 42 non-alcoholic spirit, peach, agave, lime, and club soda. It was sweet, bubbly, and refreshing. We received a basket of toasted, dry bread with their proprietary, aromatic olive oil. We also munched on two shared appetizers. First, we opted for a bowl of their Calamari to be grilled and served with a lemon emulsion. The squid rings were tender, and the citrus marinade was fantastic! It was my favorite bite of the evening. The Traditional Greek Salad was also tasty, though. It included chunks of vine-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olives, red peppers, barrel-aged feta cheese, oregano, aged balsamic, and extra virgin olive oil. A few of the tomatoes were a bit mushy, but the majority of the salad was very fresh. For our entrees, we both ordered the Lavraki, a mild and flaky sea bass, which was apparently grilled whole over charcoal. Though the filet was supposed to be de-boned, I definitely found a half-dozen or so in my butterflied piece of fish. It was topped with some sort of sauce that was similar to hollandaise, as well as a bunch of capers. It was a very enjoyable plate of seafood. However, since it did not come with any side dishes, we decided to share the Foraged Mushrooms and the Brussel Sprouts. The fungi were varied, offering a blend of aromatics and layers of earthy flavors. The sprouts were a bit salty and overcooked, but not terrible. Once our meal had concluded and we had turned down dessert, we were offered water refills twice. Both times we said that we would love more water, and both times it never arrived. So, that was a bit odd. Otherwise, the service was fine, but not specifically memorable, aside from the manager wishing us a nice evening and thanking us for coming. While the food was above average, the real draws of Molos were the amazing views available from a majority of their tables, as well as the sophisticated elegance of their indoor dining room.
