Great seafood, but our server completed disrespected us and our experience. We came to Molos for a special occasion, and what should have been a great dinner became extremely uncomfortable because of how our waitress handled her own pricing mistake. She told us the surf & turf was $95, so we asked several questions before ordering because, $95 is a significant amount. We decided to order it and have it split between two people, as well as the lobster pasta for some variety. Since I am the only one who eats lobster, the other person we were with was going to eat the ribeye, making it a perfect dish to split. We were then shocked to see $145 on the bill. When we questioned it, she admitted she had entered a larger portion by mistake. When we asked if anything could be done, instead of simply apologizing, she told us: "next time, you need to tell me you got a bigger portion." We were completely distraught. How were we supposed to know? We had never ordered the dish before and were relying on the description and price she gave us. The situation became even more upsetting when she asked about the lobster, found out it was in our takeout bag, and actually went into our takeout bag to pull it out and question whether we were going to take it home and eat it. We were so uncomfortable that we even told her she could take it back if she wanted, but completely drawing the line as she accused us of not speaking up after her mistake. We felt like we were being blamed and treated as though we had done something wrong, when the mistake was made on HER end. The manager Mike was incredibly kind and immediately corrected the bill. But it looked as if the waitress was trying her best to hide the mistake, and immediately rushed out after the manager saw how offended we felt. Unfortunately, the way we were treated completely overshadowed the meal. Mistakes happen, but making customers feel degraded over a mistake that wasn't theirs is unacceptable. We came for dinner and unfortunately left disappointed. The one thing this restaurant absolutely gets right is the view. It's beautiful and easily the highlight of the entire experience. Unfortunately, everything else fell short. The service was disorganized from the start. We waited quite a while before anyone took our order, and throughout the evening multiple servers kept stopping at our table, making it unclear who was actually responsible for us. There were several mix-ups with our order, and we repeatedly had to remind staff about items we had already requested. The East Coast oysters were fresh and enjoyable, and my lychee martini was very good. The grilled octopus, however, was one of the worst I've ever had. It was extremely overcooked, heavily charred, and so salty that it overwhelmed everything else. It was also served over what appeared to be a squid ink puree, which completely overpowered the dish. It just didn't work. We shared the whole red snapper, which was decent, although nothing particularly memorable. The Brussels sprouts were good, but the lemon potatoes didn't arrive until we had already finished the fish. When they finally came out, they were undercooked, drenched in lemon juice, and tasted like they had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. Dessert was fine, but even then the service issues continued. We ordered four desserts and only three arrived. By the time we had paid, we weren't interested in waiting any longer to ask about the missing item. My friend also ordered his ribeye rare, and it came out medium. Overall, the evening felt inconsistent from beginning to end. Between the constant order mistakes, slow and unorganized service, and several disappointing dishes, this isn't a restaurant I'll be returning to. With views this spectacular, I expected the food and service to match, but unfortunately they didn't. read more

3.5 stars I was meeting a friend for dinner at Molos and had arrived before she did. The restaurant was virtually empty inside and had plenty of tables outside, but I was still told that I needed to wait until my companion arrived before I could be seated. In the meantime, I parked myself at the bar and gazed out the massive windows at the stunning Manhattan skyline views. When my friend arrived, we asked for a table on their outdoor deck, which was located just to the side of the restaurant, so that it would not block the views for those in the indoor dining room. We were seated at one of their comfortable tables, but there was some strange water dripping down onto my legs, so we moved to another one. I was not drinking that night, so while my friend ordered a glass of wine, I opted for the Panoma mocktail made of Seedlip Grove 42 non-alcoholic spirit, peach, agave, lime, and club soda. It was sweet, bubbly, and refreshing. We received a basket of toasted, dry bread with their proprietary, aromatic olive oil. We also munched on two shared appetizers. First, we opted for a bowl of their Calamari to be grilled and served with a lemon emulsion. The squid rings were tender, and the citrus marinade was fantastic! It was my favorite bite of the evening. The Traditional Greek Salad was also tasty, though. It included chunks of vine-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olives, red peppers, barrel-aged feta cheese, oregano, aged balsamic, and extra virgin olive oil. A few of the tomatoes were a bit mushy, but the majority of the salad was very fresh. For our entrees, we both ordered the Lavraki, a mild and flaky sea bass, which was apparently grilled whole over charcoal. Though the filet was supposed to be de-boned, I definitely found a half-dozen or so in my butterflied piece of fish. It was topped with some sort of sauce that was similar to hollandaise, as well as a bunch of capers. It was a very enjoyable plate of seafood. However, since it did not come with any side dishes, we decided to share the Foraged Mushrooms and the Brussel Sprouts. The fungi were varied, offering a blend of aromatics and layers of earthy flavors. The sprouts were a bit salty and overcooked, but not terrible. Once our meal had concluded and we had turned down dessert, we were offered water refills twice. Both times we said that we would love more water, and both times it never arrived. So, that was a bit odd. Otherwise, the service was fine, but not specifically memorable, aside from the manager wishing us a nice evening and thanking us for coming. While the food was above average, the real draws of Molos were the amazing views available from a majority of their tables, as well as the sophisticated elegance of their indoor dining room. read more

The seafood seems fairly fresh and they make dishes to showcase the seafood. They have a few non-seafood items as well. Drinks look great. I wish the wine list by the glass was more extensive. We have not been to Molo's in five years and wanted to sit by the water today. To start entering the restaurant the smell of bad fish in garbage was so strong. We should have left but there were many people on the deck we decided to stay. The service was very nice but the fish was not fresh. I had filet mignon which was good but we were very disappointed. Our group of 4 enjoyed a Friday night at Molo's. Ample parking can be found across the street in a lot at no charge. We were about 15 minutes early for our reservation, but they immediately welcomed us without hesitation and escorted us to our table with a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. (TIP: Request a seat at the windows) The 2nd floor was closed, however my wife said the view was better upstairs. AMBIENCE: You can't go wrong with floor-to-ceiling windows and the NYC skyline as your backdrop. Tables were spaced well and even with a full dining room, we had great conversation without having to "Scream" at each other. Lighting was perfect as it wasn't too bright or too dim. SERVICE: Very fast, efficient and pleasant. Water glass was never empty. We sat for about 3 hours and never felt rushed or like they wanted us out. FOOD: Authentic Mediterranean experience. The Fried Feta (Photo) tasted like it was straight from Santorini. The Lobster Fettuccine (Photo) was very filling with huge pieces of lobster including both claws. Crabcake was very fresh. VALUE: Some other reviews say that it was overpriced and I can understand the feeling. However for fine dining on a waterfront, the pricing was as expected. Especially for seafood. I had a fantastic dinner at Molos last night! Definitely sit outside when dining because the patio and view of the NYC skyline is spectacular. There's lots of lights to make the views even more special. The inside is just as beautiful. However, the patio is perfect! I would recommend booking an earlier dinner if you want to eat outside because it does become quite busy. There are so many great appetizer options on the menu. My friend and I tried the fried feta topped with pistachio and drizzled with honey. We also shared pita with eggplant dip. Both options were a big hit. You can't go wrong with fried feta! For dinner, we shared the Dover sole and Spanokorisotto. The Dover sole was marinated in lemon and butter. The potion sizes were decent, so you get your money's worth. The Spanokorisotto was a nice play on Spanokopita and risotto combined. We loved that! We finished our meal with dessert and really enjoyed the Galacktoboureko, which is a vanilla custard pie. I've been to Molo's a few times over the years. The food is pretty good (although a little overpriced) and you can't beat the beautiful NYC views. They have a great outdoor patio with plenty of seating and a large indoor dining room. My husband and I dined here for dinner a few weeks ago and the service was insanely slow (which was odd because the dinner rush had mostly cleared out). The tuna tartare appetizer and oysters were delicious, and our entrees were fine (I got the Dover sole and he ordered the lamb chops, nothing too memorable). It's a good spot for outdoor dining but not top of our list to return to anytime soon. read more

We got there at 6 PM -- perfect timing to watch the sun set behind the city and make you briefly forget about New Jersey traffic and your $10 valet fee (because, of course, there's no parking -- beauty has its price).This was a special "welcome home" dinner for my son, back to Jersey after college and a few years of wandering the states. The mood? Proud dad. The view? Movie set. The crowd? Birthdays, anniversaries, date nights, and at least one guy nervously clutching a ring box (good luck, buddy). Now, the food. Yesterday was my birthday, and I left this restaurant feeling completely disappointed and upset. From the moment we walked in, the experience was frustrating. The hostess acknowledged us standing there but still ignored us until we finally walked up ourselves. We clearly gave our reservation name and time, yet they responded with, "Oh, you have a reservation?" as if we had never said it in the first place. What made it even more shocking was that there were three staff members standing there, and somehow none of them seemed to hear or understand us. We were seated at 8:20 PM and had already ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees by 8:30 PM. The appetizers arrived about 20 minutes later, which was reasonable, but after that everything went downhill. Our entrees did not arrive until almost an hour and a half later. The entire time, the waitress kept telling us, "It's coming, it's coming," making us believe the food was actively being prepared. Meanwhile, we sat there waiting and watching table after table receive their meals before us. What made the situation even more disappointing was that a party of 10 seated after us received both their appetizers and entrees before we did, while we were only a party of 2. It made absolutely no sense that we ordered much earlier but were somehow left waiting far longer. By the time our food finally arrived, it wasn't even hot. After waiting nearly 1.5 hours for entrees, receiving cold food felt like the final insult to an already terrible experience. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday dinner, expecting a special and enjoyable night, but instead I left feeling ignored, frustrated, and deeply dissatisfied. It was honestly upsetting to have such poor service ruin what was supposed to be a memorable occasion. As Asian customers dining at this restaurant, we truly felt that we did not receive the same level of customer service as the other guests around us. Throughout most of the evening, we were barely checked on while waiting for our food. After placing our order, we waited nearly an hour and a half for our entrees, yet during that long wait there was little communication or attentiveness from the staff. Ironically, once the entrees finally arrived, the waitress repeatedly came over asking how the food was, even though it was obvious we were already frustrated by the excessive delay. To make matters worse, the truffle fries we ordered were bitter and tasted burnt, which was another huge disappointment. By the time the lobster and steak arrived, the food did not even taste fresh or properly hot. It honestly felt like the dishes had been sitting in the kitchen for quite some time before finally being served to us. What made the experience even more upsetting was watching other tables around us receive their food much earlier, despite arriving after us, while we received very little attention throughout the night. Because of how we were treated, we could not help but feel uncomfortable and question whether there was some level of bias or discrimination involved. Despite the poor experience, we still left a 20% tip out of respect for the staff. This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner, but instead it became one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had. The ambience here is always pleasant. Even in the colder months when they have the outdoor tent in place. As I mentioned, the martini was delicious. The lobster pasta was not what I expected. The waiter did explain that it was in a red cream sauce, but the fettuccine was a bit too al dente for me. The lobster was tender and plentiful, so no complaints there. The reason for three stars instead of five is because the waiter, Kalin, was so unpleasant. We sat there for 10 minutes before we were asked if we wanted the bottle of sparkling water you see in the photo. After dropping off the water, he took another 10 minutes to come back. He asked us what we would like to order but I had to prompt him to tell us about the specials for the day! It should be automatic, it is part of your job as a server. We watched him interact with other tables and his personality would always switch when coming back to ours. This restaurant's view will take your breath away, from sunset into the night-- my parties wait-time for every part of the service was very long, so be prepared to spend hours here. Though our appetizers were satisfying, we found the oyster and mackerel risotto to be inedible - undefined risotto texture with no visible oysters and too much smoke and salt. The oysters had been infused into the risotto, we were told. Our group also ordered the lamb chops which were too salty. While mostly just main courses were lackluster, our truffle fries, lacked truffles. Even though our main courses were disappointing, the service was very responsive, the risotto was not on the check and we were given free dessert wine after voicing our complaints. A very delicious Greek-based restaurant with the option to select fresh fish from a large selection. The views of the city are amazing and you should ask for a table near the windows. You won't stop looking out. We had a ton of dishes (can't remember their names) and they were all good. One that stuck with me and had to order a second round, was the desert. It was a custard with a flaky top and covered with syrup (not very sweet. I promise). It was so yummy. The staff, Vasili, (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) was really nice. He was Greek and recommended two great bottles of wine. He made the night even better by introducing us to a mastica drink which is made from tree sap (it smelled just like pine!). Valentine's Day 2025 A price fix menu is not so favorable by me, but I wanted to try the restaurant out. With great advertisements of a chef and the price point being higher than expected. I had the scallops as an appetizer, these scallops were served in a shell on top of what seemed like seafoam, but was 100% salt. The sear on the scallops was basically nonexistent with the bottom of the scallop being raw the top being gold in appearance certainly not a sear. Two scallops was the appetizer. The entrée Was halibut. Sadly enough, it was worse than getting this at a secondary seafood restaurant. The clam tasted like dirty water (1) the shrimps were barely warm and pre-cooked frozen for sure. No sear, no nothing you might as well have boiled it. halibut is on the tasteless side so I expected some culinary skills to at least bring it to where it should be whether it would be served on a better risotto or anything that even resembled to dress it up, but it did not come that way. It's something that you would buy for about $15 at Joe's seafood. But Joe's crab shack happens to be a lot better than this. The dessert was equal to a hostess cupcake without the frosting, and chocolate filling worth about three dollars. I feel bad for everyone else in this restaurant that had to endure the price tag of which they put on the food compared to what you were actually getting. It was barbaric to say the least. The drink drinks were completely topped off with soda to stretch the alcohol out. I never wanna see this place again. I don't even want to drive past it on my way home. read more

It's beautiful and a great place to go to if you're interested in the aesthetic and overall ambiance of a dinning experience. They specialize in seafood, with fresh catch each day, and have imported Greek products. They also have an upstairs if you would like to host a private event, I'm sure it's a spectacular location with the views. The staff is attentive and very friendly. We had a great experience with them. As for the food, not mind blowing but good. My favorite had to be the oysters and the grilled octopus. Solid establishment! read more

Great choice for Greek cuisine. Not sure why they only have an overall 3.5 star rating. Excellent food, customer service, atmosphere, food, water front view of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline, super clean bathrooms, wait staff, reception, free parking or valet parking, etc. My friend recommended Molos who heard about them from others who had been here. Nice venue and everyone that we dealt with were genuine, wanted their customers to really enjoy the experience and were very friendly. It's a large space, large deck which will be great to eat at during the summer and watch the boats go by. The only negative I had was we were a party of four and the table was tight to say the least. We started with a bottle of Amethystous which is 2020 Greek Red wine. Excellent choice, not acidic. For appetizers ordered the filet mignon souvlaki which was really good. We also shared the Saganaki, tuna tartare and eggplant appetizer which had a great spin on it. The main courses were Dover Sole the waiter did the best job I ever have seen of deboning the fish at the table. Filet mignon steak which comes with lemon potatoes we also had the Ahi tuna which wax over yogurt with pomegranate and couscous. We also had the Lavraki which is like sea bass. Sides were grilled veg, asparagus, French fires. For desert we had the Greek galaktobousreko which is like a custard in a filo type dough. It comes with a small scoop of chocolate ice.We also had the Karidopita which is walnut cake. Overall great experience, no time limit as we spent a little over 3 hours there. Dinner for 4 was $600 with tip so be prepared. Appetizers run on average $24-$28. Entrees $38 on up, sides, some are pricey. Sides also getting up there. Grilled veg $18, Asparagus $16. 2.5 stars I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday this weekend. We had an early dinner reservation and unfortunately some people in my party were late. They only hold the reservation for 15 minutes but they were able to accommodate us almost immediately when they arrived (even on a busy Saturday night) which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's right on the water with amazing views of the city. The menu is Greek cuisine with a strong seafood focus. I found the menu items to be very overpriced across the board. I know it's prime real estate but these were high even for nyc standards. And I'm not sure that the food quality itself was commensurate with the price. My friends had mocktails to start out, which they said were good (They only had two mocktails options to choose from). The waiter encouraged us to order our appetizers and entrees all at once since Saturdays can be very busy. Even though we ordered everything together, our entrees still took quite a while to arrive. In general, service was a little spotty. We had to ask for water refills a few times and it was a long wait for the check. To start out, we had the bread basket (yes, they charge for bread and butter), fried feta, and one of the spread with pita. Fried feta is normally one of my faves. This one was okay. The sesame coating was what I expected but it fell a little short. My friend who was celebrating a birthday had the lamb chops. He said the portion was a little on the small side but they were good. I had two appetizers as my main- the octopus and grilled eggplant . The octopus portion was actually quite generous, as large as an entree. I really didn't enjoy it though. It was very fishy. I usually love Greek octopus for the nice charbroiled taste but it was overpowered here by the fishiness. The eggplant was tender and would have been good if they hadn't added some of the toppings they did. In what world does granola go on top of eggplant? They topped the eggplant with granola and some cheese and pumpkin seeds. It was just too much going on. The others in our party had the duck. Interestingly, the meat entrees all came with the same house sauce even though they were different dishes. My husband wasn't super into the duck. Dessert was probably the best course. We had the orange cake which was fluffy and syrupy and the chocolate cake which was very moist and soft. I was looking to dine somewhere with a view but still here in NJ. I was a little hesitant because of the reviews that stated service was slow. We were given a choice of eating indoors or outdoors. There were no more window seats so we chose outside. The view is great. There was a breeze so the night was perfect. Our server greeted us and we ordered drinks. We then placed our meal order. The first thing I ordered was a bread basket. Our appetizers came out at a fairly decent time. We finished our appetizers but the bread still hadn't come out. So I canceled the bread order. Then throughout the night our drinks came out very slowly. My husband would inquire as to where his drink was because a good amount of time had passed. Now the food. I was disappointed to find out they had no more lamb chops. The calamari tasted as it would usually. The green sauce was different and tasty. The crab cake was good too. My husband enjoyed his seafood and orzo. He said it tasted fresh. My lobster pasta had the right amount of lobster pieces in it. Overall it was a pleasant experience, just certain parts of the restaurant's service ran slowly. read more

So my boyfriend surprised me right before coming to celebrate our anniversary dinner and proposed right in front of this beautifully located establishment, with the NYC skyline how could I say anything else other than Yes! The ambiance is sophisticated the type is place you can actually dress up to. We were so distracted by what just happened we shared with our waiter Niko that we literally just got engaged and he treated us to a glass of Prosecco. He was so attentive and kind. For our cocktails I had the lychee martini which was beautifully made and my partner had a margarita which was good. We got the bread bowl that came with olives which were delicious. As the appetizer we got the grilled octopus my boyfriend, excuse me, fiancé is a lil squeamish, but trust me when I say the octopus was delectable, light, tender and well seasoned, For dinner I had the seafood orzo and my fiancé the lamb chops both cooked to perfection but the orzo stole the show the shrimp were so big and fresh and the orzo was so flavorful I wanted seconds. For dessert which we normally do not do our waiter suggested the bougasta which was this creamy vanilla custard inside a crispy flakey crust topped with cinnamon served with ice cream and powdered sugar. If they have this when you come, get it, you will not be disappointed. It was absolutely divine and not too sweet at all Then as an additional surprise we were given a beautiful baklava plate with congrats and a candle where we made a wish together. ( my phone died so I don't have a picture) but this was such a nice kind touch, thank you for celebrating us. This was the best dinner of my whole life. This evening, I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Molos. First off, there is a good amount of parking spaces, however they do fill up quickly, so it might take a while to find a spot if you go around their peak times (ie: dinner on the weekends). So I'd recommend getting there extra earlier than your reservation to give yourself some time to find parking. The ambience is very elegant while also modern/low key club vibes. When you first walk in, there is a bar section with club like lights and music. Once you go further into the dining room, it becomes a more formal setting with a beautiful view of the NYC skyline. That said, the dress code is very lenient. I was able to wear ripped jeans with a corset top, but you're also able to dress up fancy if you'd like! Ambience Rate 10/10. I ordered the Seafood and Orzo dish which tasted amazing. The sauce and combination of different kinds of fish paired well together. My only recommendation is to add more seafood considering it was a little pricey ($45). Rate 9/10. The staff were very friendly. The host gave my friend a phone charger to use for the night since her phone was dying. The waiter was also kind and attentive. The time for our food to come out was relatively quick. Service rate 10/10. Overall, this is a great place for couples or friends who want to have a yummy dinner with a gorgeous view! read more
