One of the best meals I have had in a while! We brought our teenage sons to try Lebanese food, and the coffee, meals, and desserts did not disappoint ! Not shown in photos but were excellent: dirty chai, Kibbi Nayyi (raw ground lamb), Zataar Benedict with salmon. A very memorable meal! The owner was very helpful and welcoming. Our waitress (her name starts with an M), was incredible and attentive ... taught us how to eat some of the dishes in the traditional way. Ambiance was clean, fresh, light and airy. She love it. The beans are very filling and with the refreshing raw veggies perfect combo. I really love that. Also the hummus with the pitta oh my. So good. They made the pita breads right in the moment and they come very fluffy and hot. Really wonderful. This time I missed ordering the coffee latte. But it was after 3. I need to go back and get me one of their good delicious lattes. They have different flavors. Also next time I might get some of their sweet pastries. They have a bakery there so they are fresh. I came here for brunch after a long run. I got the American Spirit with a rose mimosa. I think the food was good but just wish it was served on a bigger plate. This dish comes with eggs, waffles, bacon, toast and fries. That's a lot of food on a small plate. My waffles got soggy near the eggs and the bread was underneath everything and I didn't even notice it until I dug through everything. Service was hit and miss. We got water in the beginning and then were ignored after the meal arrived. Finally got a chance to try this place, and I can't wait to go back! The mocha was one of the best I've had, and both the food and service were wonderful. We ordered the avocado toast and the chick omelet, and both were absolutely delicious. The space is so thoughtfully designed--charming, welcoming, and full of cute details. Overall, the meal struck a decent balance between comfort and a sense of freshness and quality. That said, I personally prefer my bacon and waffles a bit crispier, and the fries were fairly ordinary and did not stand out. Service was a mixed experience. My server was warm and friendly, but not particularly attentive. I had to wait for utensils after they were forgotten, and my water was not refilled until I was nearly finished with my meal and ready to leave. I also noticed that servers who were not directly attending to my table tended to avoid eye contact and did not engage much. I came here for the very first time on a Sunday morning with my husband after running at Woodward. The waiter who initially took our order was average and a bit hard to find, but we were later helped by someone who was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience better. We tried the chocolate French toast and the all American breakfast. The food came out fresh and tasted delicious. You can really tell the quality of the ingredients, which stood out to me. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy, with lots of plants and warm woven decor on the walls and baskets that give it a nice atmosphere. My 2nd visit here, I dined in at lunchtime on a Thursday. Suggested by my fabulous server, Meg, I tried and LOVED a non-alcoholic spirit, the Cranberry Cosmo. Since I had not yet eaten breakfast, I ordered avocado toast. Slightly generous, but just the right amount, of avocado spread. Also arugula, caramelized onions, balsamic sauce, heirloom tomatoes, parmesan cheese, and light balsamic sauce on wheat bread. It was delicious and fulfilling. Had to ask about the WTF (What's Trending Fresno) dessert, and ordered it for take out. On this day, the WTF was Daisy Cat. My littles and I enjoyed and devoured it at home. I typically come for the chicken wrap, which I highly recommend, but everything I've tried has been great. My son got the chocolate French toast, which has the best flavor, not too sweet and the French toast is cooked perfectly. My husband got the All American Breakfast, which has great portions of everything and the best part, the waffles stayed crispy (the syrup isn't to be missed either). Their coffee has great flavor and come in iced or hot (there something for everyone). All in all, Zaatar is a great choice if you're wanting a delicious meal. The deboned chicken plate had chicken that was lemony and flavored to perfection. It came with potato pita which was mashed potato inside a crispy pita pocket. It also had a heaping portion of grilled veggies and fries with a side of garlic sauce. The garlic sauce that it came with was amazing! Buttery and creamy. I also tried the seedlip. I ordered it hot and it had shredded coconut, cinnamon, and crushed pistachios on top. The hot drink was like a sweet milk flavored with rose water. I never tasted anything like it. It was so good! My mother and I got to try this lovely bistro for the first time today. Menu items were unique, but everything absolutely sounded delicious. I do not think you could have gone wrong with anything. We ordered the Lebanese Spirit, Egg & Stuff, Chocolate French Toast, Hummus w/ steak, and Traditional Fatteh. Everything was freshly made and had quality ingredients. They do have their own special coffee and a bar. I ordered the pistachio latte, which was divine and so strong, just the way I like it. I even took one to go because I loved it so much. I think everyone can find something to their liking. My mom and I will definitely be back to try their lunch items. Given that my mom and I came an hour after they opened, it was very quiet inside. We enjoyed the place and how beautiful it was. I can't speak on service during lunch or dinner hours. For us, the service was excellent during the time we were there. First time at Zaatar Bistro (and first time ever trying zaatar itself) and it was a hit! We walked in and were quickly seated at a table for two with good natural lighting. It was around 11:30am on a Wednesday so it wasn't super busy. I appreciated the holiday decorations they had up as well. We ordered the Red Nectar teapot to start, which was perfect for the gloomy day. While we sipped on that, our orders of the kafta special and the Lebanese spirit came out, and I was blown away. The Lebanese spirit was wayyyy bigger than it looks in pictures. It was basically a small/personal pizza, and I was full after like 2-3 slices (and I picked off the kafta as well, so maybe I could've done one more slice). The kafta special was tasty and the sauce it came with added just the perfect amount of moisture. The fries were pretty standard, regular fries. Had been wanting to visit here and finally did for breakfast on a weekend. Got there before 9am and only 1-2 other tables. Sat by the window which has a nice corner bench. Pistachio lattes are apparently their specialty which was nicely flavored. Got the breakfast hummus which was huge portion and is scrambled eggs on top of hummus and surprisingly good! I've heard great things about Zaatar and was able to finally try it out! Went during brunch time and they have a small brunch menu selection for the weekends. My plate contained eggs, fries, a salad, and a slice of toast. The eggs were really good, fluffy. I ordered some bacon (3 pieces for $3.50) and it was perfectly cooked. But the thing that was the most satisfying was the espresso martini. It's perfectly balanced (coffee, liquor, texture). The service was great! Very attentive, open to answer questions. It's cute inside with lots of seating. They have a bar too which they were showing the NFL football game, perfect for people who want to get some food/drinks and watch the game. I enjoyed an ok lunch here with friends recently. I was looking forward to it and based on the reviews I expected excellent food and friendly service. The food was good, the ambiance was fine, the drinks were ok, and the service was polite but I would not say friendly despite the efforts of our little group to be friendly to our server. She seemed like she was having a bad day or maybe had some bad news on her mind. For drinks at first I ordered a pear mocktail. It was very expensive, and the server said they didn't have any pear flavoring so they'd sub another fruit (maybe peach?) and it basically was just very expensive soda water with no flavor. I should have said no to it after she said the pear mocktail wouldn't have any pear in it. So that's on me. Other friends got the mango tea and seemed to enjoy that a lot more. The food was good. I got the appetizer combo as my meal. I chose hummus (good), spicy labne (excellent) and shan-klich (cheese with spices - good). It came with some perfectly fine bread. There was not a lot of bread though (or it was kind of unclear whether the bread was for my meal or for the table so we were sharing it and we were not offered more). Basically the food the good, the atmosphere was nice and we weren't rushed out, and the service was indifferent but not unkind, but the server seemed depressed / unhappy / indifferent enough that it made me a bit uncomfortable. Oh and she didn't provide us separate checks so we had to sort it out at the table with cash which was kind of a drag. Fortunately most of us had cash but it was like "who had what?" and then trying to make sure we paid enough and rounded up enough to make a good tip. As is normal in these situations I add in an extra $10 or so, on top of my order and tip, to make sure there's enough. So it ended up being kind of expensive for an appetizer and a mocktail -- and most places will just give you separate checks these days. I can tell this place is a nice place with good food and I wish them well, but based on this experience I was not impressed. read more

This was my best friend's and my first time here, and even though it was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon (just after lunchtime and almost packed), we only had one person ahead of us, so the wait was quick. We ordered the mushroom hummus with bread and it was so flavorful and good, definitely recommend this dish to try. We ate here about a month ago on a Saturday afternoon as a party of 6. This restaurant is very cute and was not busy at all. It has a cute Mediterranean inspired modern interior with a large bar and an outdoor patio. To drink I had the Garden Spritz, which was delicious. I have never had this premade spritz wine but it was light but more herby tasting than a regular aperol spritz. To eat, we shared the fattoush salad, the feta appetizer, and the chicken and hummus, with pita bread. The fattoush salad was fresh, and you could taste the pomegranate in the dressing, but it needed more lemon. The chicken and hummus was tasty and very filling. The pita bread was fluffy. The feta appraiser was just a large plate of feta cheese with a lot of herbs and seasonings. I had thought it might be more of a whipped feta, but it was just the cheese. The cheese was also kind of dry instead of the moist feta from brine, and it was so heavily seasoned that you could hardly taste the feta flavor. It tasted almost like the inside of Subway sandwich shop smells, that's strong herby vibe. My brother in law got the burger, and it had a fun personal touch of the logo toasted onto the bun. The menu is also hard to follow because they serve a brunch but they don't have a separate brunch menu or even a separate side of the menu, so it's hard to follow which items are for dinner and whether those items are entrees, appetizers, etc and what they contain. read more

Rich (not burnt), it was the COFFEE that made it the BEST-tasting-coffee-I-had-EVER-had-in-ANY-restaurant! NOW, I was a woman on a mission; WHAT IS THIS COFFEE?! I found out that the owner was the barista for my order (and different baristas yield different results) but he graciously told me what brand it was; Organic Lucky Jack by Groundwork. The food here is absolutely fabulous and authentically Lebanese, which is wonderful! Lots of traditional dishes that you can't find anywhere else, especially for brunch/breakfast. They offer a lot of American breakfast and lunch options too, so if you're just wanting more of a bistro type meal, you can find that here as well. We tried many of the more cultural dishes and loved them all, and my Lebanese friend had lots of positive things to say about how well things were made relative to her family recipes and time in Lebanon. The service is a little lacking after you get your food, but everything was prepared and served in a timely manner. The decor and ambiance is beautiful! I'm extremely disappointed with our recent visit. We have been coming here since last easter and have always enjoyed the food, but this time it was a completely different experience. It seems like the menu has changed, and unfortunately the food quality has gone downhill. The portions were noticeably smaller than they used to be. There were three of us dining, and when we ordered the Meza Combo, we were only given two very small pita breads. In the past, the pita breads were much larger and there was always plenty for the table. The staff knew there were three people in our party, yet only brought two small breads. When we asked for more because it simply wasn't enough, we were shocked to be charged $5 for three additional pita breads. The bread used to be complimentary, so this felt unreasonable. The Meza Trio portions have also shrunk significantly compared to previous visits. What used to be generous portions are now much smaller while the prices remain the same. The chicken wrap was another disappointment. The chicken tasted stale and lacked flavor despite being grilled. It also came without the garlic toum that used to be included. We had to request it on the side, only to find out we were charged $2 each for two small servings. We even got charged for ketchup same price as the garlic toum. Charging extra for something that was previously included felt excessive. Honestly, the only thing we enjoyed were the fries. To make matters worse, after we got home, all three of us felt sick to our stomachs. This visit was nothing like the restaurant we used to love. Between the reduced portions, additional charges, decline in food quality, and how we felt afterward, I can confidently say we will not be returning. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality food or good value for their money. If there was half a star i would give half a star. read more
