stopped by for dinner on a saturday night. the food was superb! had the shawarma salad with beef, hummus and falafel appetizers. everything was so flavorful and good. there were also sauces: garlic, spicy garlic and spicy. tried the spicy garlic and spicy - wasn't a fan of either. the spicy sauce reminded me of vietnamese tương ớt. the service was good. it was us and another table so the waiter was attentive, checking in on us and offering sauces. there was more take out orders than dine in. unfortunately, the ambiance was lackluster. the tables and chairs were kind of flimsy, it was a little cold inside the restaurant. not the best dining environment but the food and service more than make up for it. read more

I'd definitely say if I could give it a 4.5. I would I went with 6 of my friends. It was completely empty at the time so they were very attentive to our table. The food was very very solid my plate was the chicken shawarma plate. I liked it quite a lot and it was worth the price. I could say that there was a solid portion of chicken but I wish there were more. It has a nice and clean environment. I was charged $26.14 for my plate with the tip but I'm assuming they added tip already since it did claim it was $17 on the menu. read more

I went to get the lunch special chicken shawarma wrap that comes with fries and a drink, and it was such a great value for the price. The wrap itself was huge, I was able to split it between 2 meals. It was nice and hot and absolutely delicious. The fries is also a good portion, and I was also able to split those. They were seasoned well and a little addicting. The shop was empty when I went, but it was around 2pm on a Wednesday so maybe just a little slow at the time. The workers were super nice though and the shop itself was very clean and tidy. I did wait a little long for my food even though I called to order ahead, but I wasn't in a rush AND they made it up to me by giving me some baklava to take home. Overall, more people should definitely check them out for some solid Mediterranean food. read more

We ordered 2 waters and a tea to drink and was only served 1 drink: the tea, which didn't come out quick enough. We were craving Mediterranean food and decided to check this place out. Olive Tree has been in business a little over a year. The entire family loved it! First off, service was great. The gentlemen working there were super attentive, ensuring we were satisfied with our meal and checking in to see if we needed anything else. The thing we appreciated the most was the pita bread. It was thin but opened to make the perfect pocket for our food. Most places, the pita bread is thick and fills us up quickly. The meat was seasoned to perfection. You can tell they marinated the meat thoroughly and at the right length of time. Humus and rice were delicious. The unanimous family favorite was the salad. It was packed with cucumbers, tomatoes, sliced green squash, and the dressing-packed with flavor! It is a casual atmosphere, with plenty of space if you have a larger party. Excited for this new Mediterranean restaurant so close to my home, but it was a miss for me. Pros: ample seating, bright atmosphere The baklava was pretty good- each bite had a nice crunch. Cons: the food was bland, not flavorful. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma, the chicken was a chicken tender....and it's described as "marinated shawarma meat". It was accompanied with 2 sauces, one sauce was a bit runny and watery. The fries were bland as well. I like my fries on the crispier side, so if you like your fries not crispy this place may be for you. I originally ordered the Basbousa for a dessert, apparently they don't make this dessert everyday, and they asked if we wanted the baklava instead.... Which is fine the baklava was good, but the cost of the baklava was a cheaper, and we were not offered to have an extra garlic sauce or pita etc. or be reimbursed for the difference. read more

Seen this place on Instagram and the photos looked good so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate (which comes with chicken, rice, side salad, and side of hummus) and a side of pita bread. I was told it would be about 15 minutes. I came back around 20-25 minutes later and was told there was a mistake with my order so that it would be an additional 10 minutes. They were apologetic and gave some free baklava for the trouble. The young man who helped me then offered me their assortment of sauces and they were all yummy! Portions were large and everything had a really good flavor to it. So even though there was a delay with my order, they made it right and the food ended up being worth the wait. :) read more

Happy to give recommendations. I ended up getting their Chicken Shawarma Wrap with 1/2 salad/ 1/2 rice instead of fries. He even let me sample their Yalanji(stuffed green leaves!) (Wow!! Delicious!!) while waiting for order to be ready. His favorite! I know why! =p Small wait. Low key, Great restaurant with music playing. Received order a little bit later with thank yous! Great!! Their MuTabal is to die for! Perfect flavors and texture. I ordered the vegetarian platter which is only 4 food items which for the price is a little disappointing but the food is good. The falafel and hummus were good. I wouldn't say this place is better than other Mediterranean restaurants in Fresno but it's a good option for classic Mediterranean food. I wanted to try a new place and in researching, this seemed like a great option. We will not return. Service staff were friendly but not great otherwise. Refill on my drink was never offered, even though I drained it and it was on the edge of the table. The food took a while to make it to the table, which, if it had been great, could be forgiven...but it wasn't and it won't. Babaganouch was good, as was the hummus...but I swear they drizzled it with vegetable oil. Olive oil is greenish or yellow...the oil used was pretty much clear and didn't have a flavor. This was especially obvious with the fatoush. The meat was flavorful but way overcooked. The kafta was actually crispy in several parts. I don't understand how rice that is so colorful can have so little taste. The garlic sauce could have been a saving grace but it didn't even have a garlic flavor, it was like bland mayo. We had leftovers and we did not take them with us. There are a lot of places superior to this one around Fresno. Find one of them. read more
