    Chicken tenders and fries

I'd definitely say if I could give it a 4.5. I would I went with 6 of my friends. It was completely empty at the time so they were very attentive to our table. The food was very very solid my plate was the chicken shawarma plate. I liked it quite a lot and it was worth the price. I could say that there was a solid portion of chicken but I wish there were more. It has a nice and clean environment. I was charged $26.14 for my plate with the tip but I'm assuming they added tip already since it did claim it was $17 on the menu.

I went to get the lunch special chicken shawarma wrap that comes with fries and a drink, and it was such a great value for the price. The wrap itself was huge, I was able to split it between 2 meals. It was nice and hot and absolutely delicious. The fries is also a good portion, and I was also able to split those. They were seasoned well and a little addicting. The shop was empty when I went, but it was around 2pm on a Wednesday so maybe just a little slow at the time. The workers were super nice though and the shop itself was very clean and tidy. I did wait a little long for my food even though I called to order ahead, but I wasn't in a rush AND they made it up to me by giving me some baklava to take home. Overall, more people should definitely check them out for some solid Mediterranean food.

Was really disappointed. Read that this place had the best Mediterranean food in Fresno but we were really disappointed. We ordered 2 waters and a tea to drink and was only served 1 drink: the tea, which didn't come out quick enough. I think the guy didn't know what he was doing because our table also did not have any utensils or napkins. We assumed we would be given them when the food came out. Definitely won't be coming back.

We were craving Mediterranean food and decided to check this place out. Olive Tree has been in business a little over a year. The entire family loved it! First off, service was great. The gentlemen working there were super attentive, ensuring we were satisfied with our meal and checking in to see if we needed anything else. The thing we appreciated the most was the pita bread. It was thin but opened to make the perfect pocket for our food. Most places, the pita bread is thick and fills us up quickly. The meat was seasoned to perfection. You can tell they marinated the meat thoroughly and at the right length of time. Humus and rice were delicious. The unanimous family favorite was the salad. It was packed with cucumbers, tomatoes, sliced green squash, and the dressing-packed with flavor! It is a casual atmosphere, with plenty of space if you have a larger party. The staff is very accommodating. We are definitely returning.

Excited for this new Mediterranean restaurant so close to my home, but it was a miss for me. Pros: ample seating, bright atmosphere The baklava was pretty good- each bite had a nice crunch. Cons: the food was bland, not flavorful. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma, the chicken was a chicken tender....and it's described as "marinated shawarma meat". It was accompanied with 2 sauces, one sauce was a bit runny and watery. The fries were bland as well. I like my fries on the crispier side, so if you like your fries not crispy this place may be for you. I originally ordered the Basbousa for a dessert, apparently they don't make this dessert everyday, and they asked if we wanted the baklava instead.... Which is fine the baklava was good, but the cost of the baklava was a cheaper, and we were not offered to have an extra garlic sauce or pita etc. or be reimbursed for the difference.

Customer Service top notch! Food is fresh and delicious!! I really enjoyed this place. Sorry not many pics but it was so good and I was hungry that I kinda forgot to take pics. But I will return! The beef was good too! Oh and the BAKLAVA!! yaaaas! Not sure if it's housemade but it sure tastes like it!

Seen this place on Instagram and the photos looked good so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate (which comes with chicken, rice, side salad, and side of hummus) and a side of pita bread. I was told it would be about 15 minutes. I came back around 20-25 minutes later and was told there was a mistake with my order so that it would be an additional 10 minutes. They were apologetic and gave some free baklava for the trouble. The young man who helped me then offered me their assortment of sauces and they were all yummy! Portions were large and everything had a really good flavor to it. So even though there was a delay with my order, they made it right and the food ended up being worth the wait. :)

Shawarma Fries w/ Chicken and Spicy Garlic sauce

The food was very tasty, the staff were kind and considerate, and the wait was reasonably quick for the food to be served. I only got the one photo but tried a few items. The humus was spot on, fries we crispy and well seasoned, fattoush salad was good, Chicken Shawarma wrap was delicious, and chicken shawarma on rice was aromatic. The ambience was clean & welcoming.

Food was delicious and service was fast and friendly! Also appreciate the late hours, it's so hard to find quality food after 9 here in Fresno. We'll definitely be back!

10/29/24 Hot & New!! Must try!! Getting lunch!! Really nice restaurant! Lots of seating. Tables and chairs and a little bar-like set up by the register. The worker was Great! Happy to give recommendations. I ended up getting their Chicken Shawarma Wrap with 1/2 salad/ 1/2 rice instead of fries. He even let me sample their Yalanji(stuffed green leaves!) (Wow!! Delicious!!) while waiting for order to be ready. His favorite! I know why! =p Small wait. Low key, Great restaurant with music playing. Received order a little bit later with thank yous! Great!! Lunchtime! You get A LOT of food!! Lots of leftovers!! Falafel is Great!! Really tasty and the sauce included compliments it perfectly! Fresh & tasty salad under the chicken shawarma with pita chips in it. Chicken Shawarma is DELICIOUS and I love that it comes cut to make it easier to eat & enjoy! FLAVORFUL!! Same with the hummus & rice! Perfect textures too. Great Tahini & garlic sauce that came with it too!! REALLY DELICIOUS lunch with, easily two more meals of leftovers! Great service too!! HIGHLY Recommended!!

And so, the rice was so delicious, lamb so succulent that it almost melted in my mouth. The server was so kind and sweet, even with a jam packed midday lunch crowd. Everyone there seemed like they were being treated like family and like they eat there all the time. Aside from the above, which would easily be enough for a positive review here, there's even more. As I rushed out of the restaurant, I left my credit card. In my haste to be the 3-hour traffic back up to the Bay Area, I completely forgot until I got halfway back home, stopped for gas, and realized I couldn't pay for my gas with my card. I called them and luckily the same gal who was my server picked up and remembered me, confirmed she had my CC and told me to come back and get it. I told her I was back up in Oakland and asked a HUUUUUUGE Favor of them, to mail my CC back to me to save me the 6 hour round trip drive and ALL the headache I'd incur of getting a new card and having to redo all of the auto-pay set for countless bills with a new card number. Guess what? They did it! They took time from their busy lives, put a customer's needs first and saw past my human error and so generously sent my card to my home. Places like this family owned, down home place restore my faith in humanity and make me wish more places like this existed all over. "Thank you" doesn't even do justice for my gratitude to these folks. Can't wait to sit and dine with you all again. Huge thanks Phoenician Garden Folks

The server was very kind and built a good rapport with our table. We ordered and it took quite long to get our food. We sat down around 5:40 and ordered shortly after, received the app at 6:07 and received our food at 6:40. The food was delicious and have no complaints there. The falafel was flavorful and the chicken shawarma was moist and delicious. One issue we had though, My friend saw a wax pepper on one of the plates and asked if she can have another one. The food runner came back and brought a side dish of peppers and a side dish of pickled beets. Our server then comes out and asks whose tab he should put that on. We were a little confused because they didn't mention it would he a charge and she only asked for 1 extra not an entire bowl + a bowl of something she didn't ask for. But she took the charge and it was about $5 combined for both, a charge that wasn't prefaced beforehand. Nonetheless, the food was amazing and our server was very sweet. The restaurant was packed so it's nice to see they are busy for a local business!

This original location remains my recommended spot for Mediterranean food. Many Mediterranean…read morerestaurants in Fresno County are Armenian-owned, while only a small handful--like this family-run restaurant--specialize in Lebanese cuisine. Lebanese food is widely considered among the best expressions of Mediterranean cooking due to its vibrant use of fresh ingredients, particularly herbs, lemon, garlic, and olive oil, along with a strong emphasis on healthy, plant-based, and grilled dishes. It offers diverse, shareable, and nutrient-dense options such as tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel, making it both flavorful and nutritious. I always enjoy dining at Golden Grill because they exemplify Lebanese cuisine so well. Their dishes highlight fresh herbs like mint and parsley, along with garlic and lemon juice, rather than relying heavily on spices. The result is a light, refreshing, and aromatic flavor profile that feels both vibrant and balanced. The kebabs are excellent. The grilled cubes of beef, chicken, and kafta (ground beef and lamb) skewers are flavorful, tender, and juicy, topped with herbs and grilled to perfection. They carry a subtle smokiness and savory aroma, and the meats are beautifully charred with vibrant color. Their pita and saj sandwiches are also very well done. Each sandwich is warm and carefully assembled, forming a sturdy pocket filled with high-quality ingredients. They combine savory meats (or falafel and vegetables), creamy sauces, and crunchy pickles and onions into a balanced bite. The bread holds generous fillings without collapsing while still being tender enough to bite through easily. The pocket opens cleanly, creating the perfect pouch for the ingredients. For a small restaurant with limited seating that appears to receive many to-go orders, the presentation for dine-in guests is especially thoughtful. The dishes are served on clean white ceramic plates and trays, with the food carefully arranged and portions balanced. It is simple yet elegant and visually appealing. Golden Grill also captures the Lebanese mezze-style dining experience. As someone of Korean heritage, I appreciate this approach, since it is similar to how Korean meals are served with many shared dishes that provide variety in every meal. Some of the shared plates include Lebanese staples like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, and fresh flatbread. Everything here tastes fresh and well-prepared, with distinct textures and aromatic flavors. The signature entrées come with two cold appetizers. The hummus is silky smooth, a velvety blend of garbanzo beans and tahini that almost melts in your mouth. The baba ghanouj is creamy, garlicky, and finished with olive oil. The tabbouleh is bright and balanced with lemon juice, garlic, and a generous drizzle of olive oil that ties together the citrusy and earthy flavors. The restaurant itself is clean, with tables and chairs wiped down quickly after guests leave. Service is friendly, welcoming, and helpful when placing orders. Prices are also reasonable, especially considering many competing Mediterranean restaurants do not place the same emphasis on presentation or on creating a mezze-style dining experience at no additional cost. While some may prefer other Mediterranean cuisines, I personally enjoy the fresh, light, and diverse flavors that Lebanese food offers. Golden Grill's citrus-forward dishes and extensive mezze options make it one of my favorite Mediterranean spots.
